i like the Galeria-Theme very much and alos the wizyPanel. But when i published my first Gallery there is followong error:
Warning: getimagesize() [function.getimagesize]: URL file-access is disabled in the server configuration in /home/storage/0/26/f9/agenciam/public_html/fabrikadesites/gpdesurb/villa-rica/wp-content/themes/galleria/includes/framework/extensions/template-tags.php on line 144
Warning: getimagesize(http://fabrikadesites.com.br/gpdesurb/villa-rica/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/image11.jpg) [function.getimagesize]: failed to open stream: no suitable wrapper could be found in /home/storage/0/26/f9/agenciam/public_html/fabrikadesites/gpdesurb/villa-rica/wp-content/themes/galleria/includes/framework/extensions/template-tags.php on line 144
Please, can you tell what can i do here?
my email is: criacao@agenciam.com.br
Yeah, just sent you an e-mail. We’ll get it sorted out quickly.
I am using the Galleria theme on my site and none of my galleries are functional. I am getting a similar error message as other users:
Warning: getimagesize(http://jonathanhinderliter.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/storm.jpg) [function.getimagesize]: failed to open stream: no suitable wrapper could be found in /homepages/28/d358394956/htdocs/wp-content/themes/galleria/includes/framework/extensions/template-tags.php on line 144
The url is jonathanhinderliter.com
email is radstam@gmail.com
Ahh yes yours is the same (I sent you an e-mail radstam).
If you get URL -File Disabled as an error. It means you have a PHP Function disabled on your server. You can e-mail me to get help enabling it or e-mail your hosting provider. The PHP function is allow_url_fopen. It should only take about 2 minutes to fix.
Awesome, sorted out quickly

How do I turn off the “i” caption feature on the upper left corner of each photo?
Getting rid of the “Info” button is easy. Just add this custom CSS under the wizyPanel > Tools > Custom CSS
#information {display:none;} #gallery {margin-top:24px !important; background:none;}-Mike
Thanks very much for the prompt response Mike. The site is awesome!
Also one last thing, so sorry for bugging you with this. Is there a more comprehensive video or tutorial regarding adding a subcategory? I see how you did the subcategory for landscapes link on your “preview” site. I’d like to do that with my main menu and adding subcategories and also sub-sub categories. Is this possible? if so how? thanks so much!!!
manny
Yeah Send me an e-mail and I’ll help you out with this. Include your other question as well.
-Mike
3 questions: 1.-How do I increase the size of my photos from 620×465pixels to something bigger?
2.- How do I move the menu box closer to the left side of the browser to make room for bigger photos displayed?
3.-To add the “blog” feature, do I also need to upload the folder: HTML Site Template/PHP-Files/Galleria-Default-Color and link it to my “blog” menu link?
thank you much. BTW , I love your site template and very happy I’ve made the purchase
Send me an e-mail and I’ll give you directions on how to increase the image size and move the menu (I have directions I’ve given other buyers but it’s too long to leave in the comments area).
As far as the “blog” goes, you should just create a page and then select the Blog template. No HTML Site templates needed, it’s all built into WordPress. There should be a section in the documentation to help you out with this and give you some screenshots.
-Mike
Thanks Mike, email is mannym@earthlink.net
Thanks so much Mike. The setting you emailed me worked!!! Thanks for all of your valuable help. You rock!!!

Not sure how I can do this, but I’d like to rate your site and your awesome prompt technical support a 5 star. I’ve looked all over the site at theme forest without success. Please send me a link or direct me where I can rate your template. Thanks for all your valuable help Mike. I’m still working on my site and forgive me if more questions arise in the future. With Kind Regards, Manny Martinez
Sorry Mike, it seems that I have one more question for you. Could you please direct me how to add social media buttons? I looked through all the pages for info re this and found nothing. I’d like to add the social media buttons below the navigation column. Thanks again for all your help! Cannot believe what a bargain this is for the price you are charging for the site itself!!!
reagars,
manny
Hi Mike
I bought this theme some days ago. And now im wondering if it’s possible to have a regular page (text-page) as the frontpage? When going to the domain, the startpage is one of my galleries, and i want a “Welcome”-page as a front page.
Please advise me. Thanks, Thomas.
Yeah of course, that is built into WordPress. Go to Settings > Reading on the left menu and then change change the Front page displays to A static page of your choice
.
-Mike
I would like to but this theme but have a question
can I add a link to each large image to take you to another page as I want to sell some images and add paypal
The easiest place add this would be in the “i” info box of each image. You can add text or links to whatever you’d like. This is all built into the theme.
Let me know if that makes sense.

Hi
Please can you let me know if this supports video? I would like to be able to add movies into the galleries and be able to play them without having to go directly to youtube / vimeo etc is this possible?
2/ Does this theme automatically resize your images for the gallery or are you able to choose your own image size?
3/ Just to clarify this gallery supports both portrait and landscape images ?
Sorry to ask so many questions but bought a previous theme from someone and it ended up not being able to support landscape images!
Thanks in advance
Hey,
1. The theme won’t support video in the actual gallery, just images. You can link to videos of course but not play them inline with the galleries.
2. By default, large images are resized to the same size as the Live Preview. Getting around the image resizer is easy though. You just need to resize the image before uploading. If an image is above 620×465, it will be resized, if it’s smaller than 620×465 then it won’t be. Pretty simple.
3. You can upload portrait or landscape images
. See the last image in the Black and White gallery for an example of a portrait image.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Mike
I’m at my wit’s end with this template and a particular photo. No matter how I re-size it, crop it, etc I get the following error message:
Warning: getimagesize(http://www.bybrianh.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/OwlProfileEdit1-716.jpg) [function.getimagesize]: failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP /1.1 404 Not Found in /home2/bybrianh/public_html/wp-content/themes/galleria/includes/framework/extensions/template-tags.php on line 144
I have tried uploading this photo 20 different ways. Any ideas? I can upload the other photos fine. Right now the Photo is a Vertical 5×7 crop and I’m exporting it with the long edge at 620px and 465px. Neither version works.
What am I missing? What is the best size in px for a vertical crop? I’d also like to make my images a little larger than the current size. Closer to 800 on the long end if possible. I also put the photo in question in its own gallery, you can see the problem under the “Test Gallery” section on the main page.
To fix the 404 error, don’t have bad characters like spaces in the filename. Remove any spaces or &’s in the filename and upload the image.
To get around the image resizer for portrait or vertical images, the image size must be under 620×465pixels. Resize the images before uploading them to a maximum of 620×465. The documentation explains this in more detail. Feel free to e-mail me if you want for more details and explanation.
-Mike
Actually, I found the problem! It turns out that on this particular photo, Lightroom 3.4 wasn’t really resizing correctly on export. I would put in all sorts of sizes, even resized it to something like 320px for the long end. I’d view the photo before uploading and verified the dimensions, which were correct. But for some strange reason, the file dimensions didn’t change. It was only after resizing in Photoshop did it finally work.
I also was uploading with just a simple phrase without spaces. I thought of that too.
I still would like for my photos to be slightly larger, though. I’ve seen some others asking for this. I’d also like the logo portion to be a little higher. Could you send me an e-mail describing on how to change this?
-Brian
Yeah send me an e-mail and I’ll forward you the directions. I don’t have access to your e-mail address.
-Mike
Thanks, I received a “No-Reply” email from theme forest, but here is my e-mail address: bybrianh@comcast.net.
I’d love to be able to change the position of the logo (move it up slightly) and increase the picture size. I’m surprised that another theme isn’t in the list, it seems people are asking for it. Might save you some trouble in the future e-mail wise.
Thanks for you Help!!
-Brian
Brian,
I sent you an e-mail explaining how to adjust both of those. Not sure why you would receive a no-reply. I’ve gotten two e-mails today from other buyers through the form on my profile page.
-Mike
hi
great theme and your videos are really helpful. I see someone has also asked the following which I need too please. Maybe you should make a video on this too !
- How do I increase the size of my photos from 620×465pixels to something bigger?
- How do I move the menu box closer to the left side of the browser to make room for bigger photos displayed?
Yep, send me an e-mail and I’ll send you some directions on how to customize this. I have a set of directions I send buyers that request this. I just can’t include this inline with these comments because it’s too long.
-Mike
hi in reference toyour answer to my previous question posted 10 days ago,
‘The easiest place add this would be in the “i” info box of each image. You can add text or links to whatever you’d like. This is all built into the theme.
Let me know if that makes sense.
-Mike’
do you mean I add html tags here and then create a page under ‘Pages’ to link to?
I need to make the ‘i’ icon bigger. I can remake the graphic, can you tell me the style in .css that controls this and I will need to move it to the bottom to to make it clearer to see in this case
You can add basic HTML Tags in the “i” info box. Just play around with it and you will see what you can add. The stylesheet that controls the I is the slideshow.css file.
Thanks,
Mike
I am using this theme but not going to be using the gallery functionality at all. I am having problems with the blog posts showing up. I created a page (Projects) and set the template as the blog template and then under settings I set the home page as my home page and specified the projects page as the blog page. Maybe it’s the permalinks? The domain is http://www.route66alliance.org. Thanks!
Send me an e-mail and I can help you with the Blog. Sometimes if you set the homepage to a page instead of the gallery, the Blog won’t update correctly but it’s an easy fix. Feel free to include login to your WordPress Site in your e-mail and I’ll jump in and sort it out for you
.
Thanks,
Mike
hi urgent problem In WP admin the menus area, all the menus are greyed out so I can’t choose tick the galleries menu list to add to the menu on the website
please ignore my last post – got menu to work – did something stupid!
Hey, just send me an e-mail and I’ll help you out with any questions you have. You can contact me via my e-mail in the documentation or on my profile page.
Mike
in the menus area, how do you remove a menu item from the Main Navigation window
You just click on the down arrow next to “Page” or “Gallery” Label and all of the options will appear. At the bottom you will see the option of “Delete”. These are the default WP3 + Menu’s so you can learn more here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Appearance_Menus_Screen
-Mike
Hi,
I recently downloaded this theme, but cannot upload it to my WP set up. If you’re able to contact me to see what the issue might be, I’d greatly appreciate it!
Thanks, Bill. bill@bottree.com
I got your e-mail Bill, responded
-Mike
I have purchased this theme today and incredibly happy with it!
Everything is sorted now, except I can not figure out how to make subcategories in the menu section. I would really appreciate if someone could advice me on that. Also I tried creating a gallery and I have used correct dimensions, but it shows a loading clock, but doesn’t play and actual gallery. Am I doing something wrong? I watched the help videos…seems like I’ve done everything right…but still not working. :/
Thank you in advance.
You probably have a plugin that is loading another version of jQuery. Disable your plugins until the galleries work. That will fix the endless loading problem. Also, there is a section about how to get the subcategories working in the documentation. You can read more here http://codex.wordpress.org/Appearance_Menus_SubPanel . The menus are built using the default WordPress Menu’s.
-Mike
Hello, Mike,
I like your theme and plan to purchase it, but I have some questions:
Is it possible: 1. to post video files on static pages (not on galleries), 2. to play music as background?
Thank you!
Alexandra
Alexandra,
1. You can post videos to static pages using the default embed code from any of the sites, youtube, vimeo, etc.
2. Background music would have to be added via a plugin or some additional code. It wouldn’t be too difficult but there isn’t any easy way to do this with the theme out of the box.
-Mike
Mike, thank you for your answer! I will buy this theme in a few days.
PS I am very sorry for clicking “report” instead “reply” first…
No problem, let me know if you have any questions in the future.
-Mike
Hi
Is it possible to add an menu item as “Galleries” and put all my galleries as sub categories?
Thanks
Yeah, you can customize the menu to however you’d like. The sub-categories are just controlled via the Appearance > Menu’s area. You can have Menu/Submenu setup as you’d like.
-Mike
