Never got this theme working. Poor response from author.
Hi, I´ve been trying to install this template and couldnt get it working so far.
According to the Apache log, line 57, it is closing on an argument that havent started.
The blog has no addons, keep getting a WSOD . Wordpress version is 2.8.4
Never got any response, neither from the author, nor from envato.
Wouldnt recommend any of both. 40 bucks to the trash.
Hi Dan,
I really like Gamepress but I’d like to use it for a completely different purpose and would like to know:
1 – Can I change the names of the items in the navigation bar? 2 – Can I change the order of items in the navigation bar or simply change the name and switch out content?
Thanks!
MC
hey dan!
I was wondering if I can add a submenu to a different section ass you can sub mneu categories. How would you by doing that!!!
thanks in advance
Dont Mind my last question!!
Now I am trying to changue the order of the news page just for one place so I can show the about section on the second place instead of the news page.
I already tried to changue the header.php file but I am not getting it to work.
thanks in advance
Forgive me if this is a repeat question (don’t have time to read them all). Will this theme run on 2.9.1?
Is the author responding to anyone? Can’t get the theme working properly either.
Dan…help!
Wow…what a waste of money.
DON ’T BUY THIS THEME !!!!
I think I found the problem. So as it turns out, the short version of php open tags (<?) has been deprecated in PHP 5 .3 (!?), and the solution was to run a few searches to replace <? with <?php in the themes php files. After grinding away with an exact string matching tool I found a tool which automates the conversion of the short style tags to the full open tags using regular expressions http://stackoverflow.com/questions/684587/batch-script-to-replace-php-short-open-tags-with-php. Be sure to do this on all of the theme’s php files and this should work perfectly with the latest version of Wordpress (2.9.2). Good luck!
Some peeps aren’t happy with the author of this theme, but I’ve gotten great response from him, he’s fixed stuff for me on 2 occasions. The best way to contact him, which he states on the theme page, is to email him through his Theme Forest profile, he asks very nicely for us not to ask for help through the comments, which is very understandable as who has time to trawl through a comments page?
Hello, So i’m interested in purchasing this theme for an upcoming project, however i’m a little uncertain after reading all the negative feedback here. Many people have had issues and claim the author is not willing to help out. I want to hear some success stories to help me decide!!

+1 moreI don’t have time to check the discussion pages of all my items often, but as I say in the item’s description, I try my best to respond to any emails sent to me through my ThemeForest profile.
Most problems I’m emailed about can be resolved if the buyer followed the documentation provided.
If you’d like to see a list of sites running GamePress perfectly well, do a Google search for “Design by Dan Harper. Powered by WordPress.” to see every site running this theme (plus a couple other of my themes) who haven’t removed removed the message.
