Good Morning, Recently I bought Gamma template for Joomla. I’ve installed on a test site to learn how to use it and have the great problem that the website is loading very slow. I have other joomla pages hosted on the same server and have a good response time. I have not put in absolutely no image and the response time is painfully slow. What can I do ?? Obviously, with that response time I can not use it. I am currently testing the web site at the following URL: http://www.mywebestudio.com/artyclalya/You can see for yourselves how muchg it takes to load..

Kind regards. Lya

I saw that your question was not answered, so I thought I would take a swing at it even though its 4 months old..

I had this same problem… and the long and short of it is, gamma is just a slug in terms of performance. slow inefficient code.

There is a work around however… Try installing Jotcache. turn on both system conservative caching (in joomla itself) and enable jotcache, Most of your performance issues will go away.

Take a look at this site: www.pattisonsand.com. its running gamma, and its quite snappy.

Jotcache is the best joomla caching module that I’ve found… it allows you to exclude pages, or even individual modules from caching if you run into problems caching certain plugins etc… (I have no association with them, other than the fact that I use the extension)

you can find jot cache on the joomla extensions directory, just search for jotcache. at extensions.joomla.org.

Hope this helps.
