Hello…

I am looking at buying your theme but wanted to ask a couple questions.

1. Is there a limit to the amount of thumbnails you can add to the HOME page..? Basically can this be infinite.

3. Is there a limit to the amount of info / stills you can add to each ‘project’ page.?

2. Can the BLOG be an infinity feed.?

Thanks -Guy

Sorry one more question.

1. Artiste theme – can you hide the WORK list from the sidebar.?

Thanks -Guy

Sure, you don’t have to show any menus if you don’t want to.

Hey! I bought the Garnish theme and i am enjoying it so far. But i need to change the background color. You mentioned before that you can change the background color with CSS. But i couldnt find any help on that there are people asking in the support forums also but no answer so far. So can you help me with that?

Sorry for double post.

I was also wondering if i can change the color inside the magic door?

Hi there Orman! I’ve been using your theme for long now, and somehow I’ve got a problem that I do not know how to solve. The magic door doesn’t work any more at the home page. The portfolio items’ sliders do not work any more. The skill filter of the portfolio doesn’t work neither.

Could you help me please? Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi again Corman… I forgot to add the problem with the contact form. And the site so you can take a look is http://elaine.es/

thanks indeed. Best regards

ThemeZilla

Hi, the theme is not responsive but is perfectly viewable/functional on mobile/tablet devices.

Hi Orman, I love your theme. Have you developed anything similar as a website template? (not wordpress). I would love to build a site that worked like this theme (Garnish) but it is not a Wordpress site, it is a normal html css site.

ThemeZilla

Hi, the only non-WordPress projects we currently work on/develop for is Dunked

No worries, Thanks anyway.

I don’t know if you find this, but the drop-down menu seems to be a bit inconsistent. Often disappears when hovering onto items, has a bit of a ‘nack’ to it…...I’m using Chrome on OS X, and have found this issue just using the demo as well as my site.

I’m having trouble getting this thing to sort. It just doesn’t work. I wrote my own function but even then there is some kind of listener or something keeps showing all the stuff that I just hid. Where can I find the function that is controlling the sorting?

So I tried to get some help on here but no one ever got back to me. For a temporary fix until a Garnish version comes out for 3.5.1 this is what you do. You can view it here victoriang.com

In css add this style

#portfolio-items li:hover .overlay{ display:block; }

In the header add this chunk of code

<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ var showThese = ""; $("#portfolio-terms li a").eq(0).addClass("active"); $("#portfolio-terms li a").click(function () { $("#portfolio-terms li a").removeClass("active"); $(this).addClass("active"); showThese = $(this).attr('data-value'); $("#portfolio-items li").css("display","none"); if(showThese != "" && showThese != undefined){ $("."+showThese).css("display","block"); } if(showThese == undefined){ $("#portfolio-items li").css("display","block"); } return false; }); }); </script>

It doesn’t make the squares turn grey but it does only display the posts with the specific post type. The css brings the rollover effect back that is lost on the thumbnails.

This theme looks great! I’m considering buying this, but I had a question first. Is there a way to display only certain posts on the homepage filtered by a category, or a tag? I would like to feature only certain posts on the homepage. Is this feature available out of the box or would I need to customize it?

Thanks.

ThemeZilla

Hi, whether you are referring to the portfolio or blog section, you would need to modify the template to achieve what you need. Both are very simple changes we could help you with should you need it.

Default-user

I’m wondering then, how does a portfolio differ from a blog? What fields does a portfolio have? How similar is it to a blog post?

ThemeZilla

The Garnish homepage is a portfolio, specifically designed to showcase work. The blog is specifically for articles.

Hey OrmanClark,

Can you confirm to me that this is in fact your theme that this website is running – just a bit customized ? :D http://www.inbedwithsue.com

Regards

ThemeZilla

Yes, looks like the blog and video section is using a modified version of the Garnish theme.

Im getting the hang of the theme but am having some issues with the portfolios.. 1st image sizing is good but 2nd on is to large (height) with no width?! help

Is there any plans to introduce a feature to remove the grey boxes as Justle32 has done? This looks amazing.

I have tried to replicate using his code, but not been successful :(

ThemeZilla

If you’re referring to the fact that the magic window is not opening when clicking a thumbnail then that is already an option. Hit us up in support if you need help with it http://www.themezilla.com/support/

Hi Orman, No I am referring to the grey boxes remaining when using the categories. My site: http://designeremvy.co.uk/portfolio/ click the categories and the images NOT in the category are replaced with a grey box. In Justles example, the grey boxes are removed. This is a great feature.

ThemeZilla

Ah, I see. Unfortunately no that is not an option. There are no immediate plans to add it I’m afraid.

Why are the portfolio items on the homepage linking to individual pages instead of showing up on the top like the demo?

Thanks, C

Do you have demo content?

Yes, demo content can be found in our support forum http://www.themezilla.com/support/

Hi Orman Thanks for the theme I would like to keep the Magic Door open all the time, is this possible? Also as I was looking I found includes/home-magicdoor_alt.php, if this is an alternate how do I activate? Thanks again Damion

So Ive asked the question again in the support forum. Any help is appreciated.

Hi, I’d like to buy your theme (very clean and shaped, I like it) but there’s something about the portfolio filtering method I’m quite concerned about. When in the demo you click ‘Illustration’ (or any other filter), the grid doesn’t reassemble. A project icon that is not about “illustration” becomes gray and not clickable. This means, I guess, that a filtered project icon doesn’t move at the top of the grid (in many other filterable porfolio galleries there are smooth effects to highlight the filtered projects). This may become a issue if I have a lot of icons in the grid.

My question: in your theme options (once installed and activated) is there any kind of preference I can activate to change the filtering effect?

Thank you for the feedback :-)

ThemeZilla

Hi,

The filtering is as you have described, non-applicable projects grey out and are inactive. There is no option to choose a different filtering method out of the box I’m afraid, but it is something a developer could add for you if it was a major requirement.

Default-user

Thank you very much for the reply. If/when any future update will feature a different filtering effect for the gallery, then I’ll be happy to buy this theme.

Nice design! Just wonder for each work introduction page, is there a way to add more than one picture (in a slider way)? Otherwise, I could only put those pictures one after one?

Thanks!

ThemeZilla

Sure, you can add more than one image to each portfolio project. They will show in a slider.
