this would require some big code changes(customization). Because the entire page is now based on the one pager. All the code that goes to the same file, should be splited to templates of seperated files, javascript for animation should be changed as well.

Is this because we haven’t set the mailhandler.php file info? No words show up in the form fields or submit button and no map appears.

since the theme is a one pager it is based on the hash(!#). It needs it to know which part of the page is called when some page is clicked.

Hi, i have the same problem with loading speed of the site. After i fill up site with porftolio content to 50% my site loads about 25-30s, on smartphones even more.. I will be glad and willing to pay something, if you can do code change from one pager to normal loading.. Maybe you should warn others that it isnt suitable to lot of content..Thank you very much, best regards, Mediaguru team..</bt>

as said in the comment before. The modification from one pager to regular page required some big code changes. All templates have to be set as separated files, javascript needs changes, the least changes should be done in css.

Hi Pego, I am having serious problems trying to embed videos from youtube. It doesn’t work as a pop up in the portfolio and when I try to embed it onto the individual page, it cuts off the bottom of the video, so you cannot see the buttons! I have also not heard back regarding the issue with the map on the contact page, so have had to remove the code for it altogether. I would not recommend that anyone buys this theme!

Really nice theme. I have never used wordpress before and was able to install your theme and sample data without a hitch due to your documentation and videos. Also the PDF you include is a great wordpress primer.
I wanted to do do some customization and was wondering if you could help. I emailed you these questions, but I wasn’t sure if you preferred them up here:
1.) What do I change in the script.js file to make the website multiple pages instead of a one pager?
2.) Is there anyway that I could make the blog page the default home page instead?

1.) this requires a big code change. Theme is now based as a one pager. For it to be a standard page, templates would need to be splited to standard templates, javascript would require changes,..
2.) homepage is by default a home template. On this template you can have a slider(can disable it) and content from shortcodes that you want.

I want to purchase Genius, but I’d like to know before I do if it is possible to ‘pimp’ the home screen with something like the ‘Excited’ theme has, like quotes from posts with links (3-4) and the circle-pic-link stuff either using a paid or a free plugin/addon? I need some more content on the starting page, but I also like the hover-effect of the theme.
Also, is there another view for the blog function such as with the 3 column version in ‘Excited’ with summary and date?

thanks for showing interest in our theme. The Genius home template has a slider, that can be also removed, and the content section. In this content section you can set any feature you want using just shortcodes. On our demo we just used a welcome quote.
To redefine a blog outcome some chahnages would need to be done(adding summary, rearranging layout).

I understand the shortcodes available for this theme does not include those effects I’ve listed above. Is there a way to include or import those specific items (if you have and used these anyway in your other themes)?
You mean these changes can be done by the average user without much problem, or it requires special skills (I am using wordpress.com and I’ve used self-hosted WP in 2005-2007, have a little understanding of CSS , HTML, PHP and JS)?

shortcodes that include appearing post or portfolio items can’t be just copy from other theme. The structure ot the certain theme post/portfolio must be used for it’s shortcode. The basic logic is the same. Maybe we will add some in the next update. Which ones do you prefer having?
Then you should be able to do it. The file you have to edit is template-blog.php.

What I would need is the
- 4-col, picture simple text, plus link to post module (similar to the one in Excited) - the animating circle picture links module - blog stream with summary and dates (as in Excited)

the outcome of the blog posts can be edited in the code. This will not effect on much other stuff. Open home.php and search for an if statement that refers to blog. Try making changes there as well as in the css classes that this area uses.

hey there, first of all: very cool template. i’m using it for a small project and i realised that there is no functionality to change the meta title, isn’t it? how can i implement that the title changes if a portfolio item is active?

the theme is a onepager, so all pages are “situated” on one site. That way the meta stays the same. For it to change some coding(think javascript will have to be used) would ne to be done.

the home section under the slider reads the page content. We have just inputed a welcome quote. All shortcodes can be used there. You may also remove the slider and have just a page as it was built in the content area.

Thanks for the great theme! I posted this question 17 days ago: “On the contact page, the Google map is only loading half way. Just the left side is showing on the first load of the site. Just installed this theme, starting customizing the colors and it ignores all the background color settings, including background image. Also after adding pages and setting them to be included in the menu, navigation fails. I’m using custom URLs (postname).

I broke so much that I had to wipe the WP install and start again. It’s working now. Not sure what went wrong.
It’s broken again. Copied the slider shortcodes into a new slider and it results in a 404 error.
Why is such a simple theme so difficult to use? Usually with a good theme there’s a little bit of tweaking, but this one, as pretty as it is, is a seems like a waste of money.

making the menu is very easy. Just don’t create a standard menu, because with this theme the menu gets created itself. You just have to set Order attribute to define how the pages will appear in the menu. Did you try any plugin for multilanguage?

just create a page. Page -> New page. Then if you scroll donw you have some more options if you want some external link, or if you want in menu or not this page to be see.

makes it look right in Chrome. For me. On a 1600×900 monitor. That’s roughly 10px above the pic… In case it shows up different for you, cuz it probably will, cuz it has for everyone else so far.

I want it to be in the same position in each browser, or even close.. Right now its all over the place and i have no idea why its so different from IE to Chrome to mobile. I tried turning responsiveness on and off to no effect and was only trying to shift it slightly left and down from the original position.
