hello,

your theme really interested me.

I have some questions:

- The theme is for one or more projects to fund?

- Can we change the method of payment “paypal” for this type of payment: http://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-easy-allopass/

thanks for the reply.

regards,

Cédric

Hi – the ignition deck plugin is what powers the crowdfunding – you can have multiple campaigns, please check their website for details on their plugin.

ok thank you for your response to paypal, can be replaced by allopass?

jonathan01

Hi – you would need to direct any questions concerning the plugin to the plugin author.

Hi there,

love your theme.

Is there a way of changing the format for the event date, like day/month/year?

Cheers

jonathan01

Oh yes, absolutely. You would just need to edit template-event.php and single-events.php and where you see the m/d/Y, you would change it to d/m/Y.

Thanks

Hi again, thanks for the quick answer. The single events page has changed, but not the sidebar widget on the frontpage where it says latest events. Cheers.

jonathan01

Hi – that would be in your home page template also – same as above.

Hello, i’m very happy with your theme and it works beautiful! However I have one suggestion. This theme has been designed to promote an artist and his or her music works or band. But how well will this work, without any social network sharing build in the theme itself for visitors to share your content?

I can’t find anywhere ways or buttons on any pages or posts for stuff like: “share this on facebook” “share this on twitter”, which would be the most great way of getting your music known, other than a simple “follow us” bar in the footer, which is not convenient.

Will this be implemented at some point? Because this is very crucial and most other themes do have this sort of thing, while they aren’t even build for music or artist or band promotion in the first place.

I think it’s also very important to have a way, to not only share music but also video galleries. Because promotion on youtube is very important these days also.

The ignitiondeck thing is also a great addition, but who would ever find out or know about your donation raiser without social network sharing abilities for your visitors to share.

I feel that there must be LOTS more social network sharing build in the theme, in such an advanced way that it shows nearly everywhere. A simple “Follow us” bar in the footer, is nearly not enough for band promotion.

Other than that, an optional additional menu in the sidebar on the left, would be a great addition also to have more menu space.

Thank you. Sarah

jonathan01

Hi Sarah, thanks for the purchase and you make some great points – however you are also missing the point of a WordPress theme, which is that it has plugins, by the thousands available – for free :) You simply install any of the freely available sharing plugins and your done.

Something like this should be left to the buyer to install as there are many benefits of using certain sharing plugins over other ones and shouldn’t be decided by the author.

Saying that, the Ignition Deck already has it built in to the page for your campaign by default.

Your argument re sharing youtube videos, is again dependent on how you look at things. Youtube is already a social network and if you have a channel for promo and SEO benefits then you’re doing it right, especially if you are then embedding your youtube player in your websites pages as the player offers users the ability to share, embed on their own sites.

The footer has widgets which means you could add a menu down there – we didn’t want a menu on the left and with the dropdowns at the top and we studied all the top 50 music websites to see what the menus consisted of and found them to be basic at best – meaning it’s easier for your users when not presented with 2 menus and bunches of options – too many options makes people shut down and click away from your site.

I hope that helps to explain all the decisions that we made when creating the product, explains the beauty of simply adding plugins for sharing, explains that the Ignition Deck already has social sharing, and that embedding youtube videos from your youtube channel has the same benefits.

Many thanks

Jonathan

SarahJoyScott

Thank you for your reply. I understand N I’ll try to find some plugins for the social sharing.

But one more thing I wanted to ask.. Do you by any chance, know how to make your images used inside blog posts, to appear on the blog page also. Because I don’t intend on using “read more” tags, N I would just want to show the full article on the blog front page, with all images visible too. Because standard, images used in a blog post, are only visible after opening the blog post first and not in the main blog page in previews. I would like to have my images used within blog posts, to show there too.

Thank you. Sarah

Hi Sarah,

It’s a little difficult to pass code here through the TF comment area, can you open a ticket at cr3ativ.ticksy.com.

This can be done, but you would have to edit some template files and change some code to get this to happen.

Thanks

Love this theme. I’ve read through the comments and I’m still not clear on the issue of ecommerce – does GIG not support any kind of ecommerce at all? What about OpenCart?

If not, could I create a page in GIG with a link to my online shop? Etsy?

Would love to be able to sell merchandise associated with my music on one website.

Thanks!

Default-user

Just to be clear – I meant both a dedicated separate ecommerce webiste as well as an Etsy shop.

jonathan01

Hi and thanks for the question – no GIG is not commerce, otherwise it would be in the e-commerce category and quite a few more dollars according to ThemeForest.

Having said that, most bands / musicians sell music on Amazon / iTunes etc and we have that coded in – however those links and wordage can be altered easily when using the theme and it’s custom post type, therefore linking to, and saying whatever you wish.

You can of course make any page and have any content on it so yes that would be possible.

There are many plugins also available for WordPress that will enable you to add ecommerce functionality quite easily, but then you would probably want to style those pages produced by the ecommerce plugin.

I hope that helps.

This looks nearly perfect for my client, but I have one pre-purchase question about the gigs widget. My client typically has 20-30 gigs scheduled at any one time—too many for the sidebar widget. Is it possible to declare how many gigs go into the sidebar widget, and include a link to the event index to see all gigs? Thanks in advance.

jonathan01

Hi and thanks for the question – yes you can declare the number of events to display per the custom widget included along with the title. You could then simply add another text widget under this and offer a link to the full page – very easy to do.

Hope that helps!

Thank you for the great theme, and the prompt and thorough responses to comments (and I’m sure, support issues). I will be buying this theme within the week. My question is, my client has literally almost 40 CD titles for the discography—is there a way for me to bulk upload the data needed to populate the discography, rather than creating each CD entry individually? Thanks much.

jonathan01

Unfortunately there isn’t any way of doing something like that in bulk in WordPress I’m sorry. I do appreciate your kind words and comments and still hope this will be of interest to you.

Thanks - wow. Talk about prompt! Of course GIG will still be the theme I purchase for this client - just hoping to cut down the workload. Thanks again.

Default-user

Try that again without the code strikethrough: “Thanks - wow. Talk about prompt response! Of course GIG will still be the theme I purchase for this client - just hoping to cut down the workload. Thanks again.”

How do I change which social icon style is used in the footer? I used the footer left widget example in the documentation but it displays the “Icon Dock” icons instead of the “Zocial” icons like your demo site.

jonathan01

Hi – you use the provided cr3ativ shortcodes plugin – simply grab the code from the plugin and dump in a text widget.

4 months ago you replide to @JPednaud that it is not possible to display past events. Has that changed? I too would like to show “upcoming events” (as it currently does) and also have a section lower on the page to show “past events”

jonathan01

Greetings! I don’t actually see the question here I looked back over the comments but that buyer seems to of just been asking about different issues? You can certainly do this, but it would require some customization work to the loops for the events etc.

As we haven’t really had any demand for this we wouldn’t be pushing out any updates to include this function I don’t think sorry.

If you are looking to get this work done then I can certainly put you in touch with someone who can supply a quote – just shoot by my profile page or open a ticket at the support center with what you are looking for.

Hello, i just installed this fantastic theme but I would like to translate it in to spanish to launch a crowdfunding and I can´t is there a way I could possibly do that? thanks a lot in advanced Great theme

jonathan01

Hi – we supply the mo / po files for translation of the theme in your main file download – I recommend contacting the plugin author of Ignition Deck on how to translate their plugin.

A quick search on the WordPress main site should find you a tutorial on how to use mo/po files for translation.

Many thanks!

Hi,

I intend to buy this theme but I want to know if I can edit few things on it. First of all, I would like to take the logo and put it above the menu-bar and second I would like to put a opt-in form in the left part of the page (above that fixed image). Is this possible to be made while keeping it responsive ?

Also, on video posts I`ve noticed the video frame/player is bigger than the video itself and a black margin appears on it. Will I be able to change the size of the video player with ease ?

Thanks, Alex

jonathan01

Hi – the theme is created in such a way that adding your logo to the defined position is done using media uploader and the admin panel – therefore to change it’s position you would need to alter the block of code in the header to accept this – then you will need to possibly alter css etc for media query sizes.

The video player is 100% of the size available (it has to be to be responsive) and height is auto – therefore if there are borders it’s because of the format of the video being served – if it’s a standard format then it should have zero bars.

Many thanks

Jonathan

Default-user

Thanks for your quick answer. I`ll buy it right now. I hope I`ll be able to move the logo block. What about adding another div with a webform over the left image ? Will this affect the responsivnes of the theme ? I saw that when you open it on a smaller browser, the image from the left goes at the top.

jonathan01

Hi again – yes any changes you decide to do you will no doubt have extra classes to put in for media queries and depending on the extent of the alterations you will have to make sure you test in all browsers etc and alter code to your specific requirements.

Ultimately if you alter a theme and customize it you’re going to have to have experience or you could get in trouble quite quickly :) As for placing a form over the side – not sure that will work tbh, it will appear quite odd on iPad etc having a form at the top of each and every page.. but then again that’s why it’s customization to your requirements and you may have something in mind you need to achieve.

Many thanks again!

I like the simplicity of the theme and I don`t intend to use it for a band so the form at the top will be ok. I`ve just installed the theme and I don`t know how to make the blog posts wider.. I`ve tried all formats but it looks like all those page templates have a sidebar. In the live preview I`ve seen some of the posts without sidebar. Is there something that I`ve missed or should I edit it from the code also ?

I forget to mention that I have the custom posts plugin and it doesn`t work even if I use the Blog Single full width post template.

Please make sure your link is checked as ‘none’ as per this FAQ on the support center:

It’s a different product but the same issue with WordPress itself:

Is there away to put a custom image in the navigation for a donation button?

jonathan01

WordPress allows you to add a class to a menu item – you would therefore add your styling to style.css for this class however you wish and then add the class in your WordPress menu setup. Obviously this is custom and specific so it’s not covered with support – but answering your question the answer is yes it’s totally doable.

We have a problem with excerpt “read more” on the template-band_member, it doesn’t work. Thank you.

jonathan01

The new version follows WordPress best practices meaning you should create your read more by adding a more tag in your content as you normally would in a WordPress post. Also please note this is the comment area and support is offered in the support center which is listed in your documentation, the item description page and also my profile page and the support tab here – here’s a handy link for you however:

I would like to add some stuff including a sign up form to the sidebar on every page, tried editing #featinnerwrapper in template-homepage.php but its not showing up. could you tell me the wrappers and in what files I need to edit?

Im using homepage leftwidget and right content

http://173.254.85.158/~convesb0/headwaytest/

Thanks!

jonathan01

No you would need to register a new widget area and then add this to each page template to ensure you have space and a location for it – you can’t edit css to add a widget area this would be within each page template php file.

Also please note this is the comment area and support is offered in the support center which is listed in your documentation, the item description page and also my profile page and the support tab here – here’s a handy link for you however:

Hi, We have a problem with the responsive menu display. it doesn’ become a <select> menu. Thank you

jonathan01

Hi – this is the comment area and not the support center- please direct your request on the support center – there’s a link in your documentation, the item preview page, the support tab and my profile page – here’s a link also for you:

http://cr3ativ.ticksy.com

When you open your ticket please ensure to provide full details on your site with a link, what you have done to create your menus and possibly a admin login detail so we can check you are not having a conflict with a plugin that’s not written correctly. If you have added or altered any of the style sheet this may of broken your media queries – hence no mobile menu possibly.

Hi Jonathan! I really like the theme. But I have a couple of questions first.

Does the theme support the IgnitionDeck shortcodes?

Does the theme support the MembershipDeck shortcodes as part of IgnitionDeck?

Does the theme support the current framework/version of ID/MD?

Does the theme support individual checkout/purchase pages for ID/MD?

Thanks.

jonathan01

Greetings – yes we use the ignition deck short codes in the demo. I’ve not heard of membershipdeck, do you mean the new plugin as an addition to ignition deck? If so, no sorry. We are looking to revamp the theme in the early new year to bring up to date with new features of IgnitionDeck possibly. Yes the pages are all present in the demo, you can click away and see :)
