For some reason no content in recent news and popular stories is showing up?
If you have your slider set to 5 featured articles, you need at least posts to show content in the recent news. What the theme basically does is display an X number of featured articles (default is 5) and everything beyond this number will show up under recent news.
The popular stories box will get populated with links to posts people commented on. The more comments a posts has, the higher up it will show in the box.
