What a great buy! I was skeptical about buying another theme due to the last one being poorly coded in the back end. This one is great! Utilizing the great Omega theme, this template is perfect to work with. Lots of functionality, lots of styling options and easy to learn. I have no php experience, just minor css and I was able to manipulate and learn this template very quickly.

Must buy for anyone looking for a stylish / elegant theme with options!

We have tried contacting you multiple times via email and your support forum (User: HealthTrust). There has been no responses to support in your forum since 5.29.2012. What more can we do to get our questions resolved asap?

We have some serious display issues with IE 8 and iPads Safari. Most of it is due to the nivo slider and displaying teasers for projects on the home page. We are in the middle of development and have a hard deadline for this project. One of the reasons we picked this theme was because you created a dedicated support forum and noticed you were supporting your product well. We can’t afford to wait even longer for support.

Is there a way to have the shortcode list collapse as a default under the wysiwyg?

has anybody figured out which lines to comment out to support installation of glossy with an “existing drupal site”

carlos says, “you need to copy “glossy_helper” folder that is placed under “sites/all/modules” to your modules directory and then install it. then copy all folders placed under “sites/all/themes” into your themes directory and then install Glossy theme and start commenting out codes in “theme-settings.php” and “template.php” files because they causes crazy errors when not founding dependent functions.”

what are those dependent functions? he also states three months ago that the new file set will allow for installation on an existing site. has anybody managed to get this to work?

Unfortunatly we are facing exactly the same issues with IE8 as reported by Maidnstone. I have posted several request in the forum about where to get the necessary updates but I never got any reaction from Carlos. While the theme is looking great on Google and other Filezilla’s, it can not be used as is with IE8 (which still is mosed used browser by our customers). If we do not get an update on this very soon, we will be forced to go for another theme!

I changed the logo image and the background of my logo bar turned gray. Do you know why this happened? I changed it in the site settings by browsing and I uploaded a PNG .

But install was a bear… Standard Drupal 7 install fails. And SQL file is bugged. Don’t bother trying install.php.

To install: Upload the files with FTP . Fix the SQL file (drupal.org/node/1325542) , and import it with PhpMyAdmin. Get the sql file (Glossy-Modern-Drupal-Theme-V1.0.3\glossy\private_files\demo\glossy_modern_drupal_theme_fresh.sql). Open with Notepad++, find `fusion_apply_skins` replace

UNIQUE KEY `theme_module_element_skin` (`theme`,`module`,`element`,`skin`), KEY `theme` (`theme`), KEY `module` (`theme`,`module`), KEY `element` (`theme`,`module`,`element`), KEY `skin` (`skin`)

Download 7zip and gzip the sql file. Import the sql.gzip to your database with PhpMyAdmin.

I need to install Glossy as a theme only for an existing site.

I’ve extracted the theme from the starterkit and installed – obviously though I have no shortcodes etc.

I read somewhere that Carlo can provide some features modules to implement full functionality for people that dont want to use starterkit.

Can I get these modules, Carlo?

If you don’t have time to provide support, this could be helpful. I replied to somebody’s request for help, but no one has bothered to approve my reply, so the guy is probably still stuck. I wonder how many others are in the same situation.

If you cant be bothered to provide support, at least give people the freedom to help each other.

Mac user I cannot install!

I bought this theme yesterday, but I can’t install it. I’m following the guide, but no matter which option I choose (demo content or empty), I end up with an error. When I choose demo content there something wrong with a vimeo plugin. When choosing the empty install it completes but when I try to visit the site afterwards it gives me a huge MySql error. I tried this on Mac and Windows with different servers and get the same errors? Can you fix this? It would be a shame if I have just thrown $40 dollars away!

Hello, I’ve just tried to install glossy, but I get this error message :

SQLSTATE [42000]: Syntax error or access violation: 1071 Specified key was too long; max key length is 1000 bytes

How can I fix this problem ? I spent one hour looking at the forum but I didn’t see the solution.

Capitolemobile – I have spent 2 days trying to correct the problem. On issue may have to do with the data or Sql file in the private folder. A lot of hosting companies do not support Innodb which is what the engine type is for the database snapshot. Many hosting companies only support Myiasm for reasons of cost. I still can’t get in loaded, losing money literally by the second. check out http://support.dropletz.com/forums/glossy-modern-drupal-theme for the support. Only other users are responding and not to this specific problem.

You can load the standard profile, which is kind of pointless and then activate all the modules….like i said pointless. I’m not an expert but the only thing I have as an option is to open the database with an editor and change the engine type to Myiasm then insert that into the profile.

Im fortunate that my ‘web guy’ happens to be a friend helping me out – so no costs for me with the time its taken (im a complete novice by the way). Hosted on his personal server, took him 2 days to get this working and even now it is still throwing up bugs, being slow (although it has turned into Ussain Bolt in comparison to what it initially was like) so a damn good job i didnt take this on myself! Firstly this is not just a theme – its a complete Drupal install! Some will see that as a good thing, but our view is that it is not, and has been a complete nightmare! Were finding more and more issues by the day with the build, as well as some really simple ‘design’ things like no option for a drop down selector in the contact form – why? This had the potential to be a brilliant ‘theme’, then seems it became over complicated and got given up on – not helped by Dropletz having dissapeared off the face of the earth so theres no support, a shame really as with a few ‘design’ tweaks i would have recommended this to anybody. Could have done with the inclusion of a ‘tabs’ option or two, then could have been a very complete theme otherwise. If Dropletz ever returns and sees this – can we have this as just a theme please so we can apply it to a base that works??

I have bought this theme (after the releave that was intended for bugfixing), hired a senior developer to spent some ~10 hours on testing and bug fixing on this theme…

Finally we decided to start over again from scratch as this cannot be made workable for us!

My advice would be: take off your fingers, it looks great, but you WILL regret this purchase!
