Hi Joefrey:

Bought the theme and struggling through implementation. I notice the Google+ icon isn’t showing in the footer of the dark version. Any suggestion?

joefrey

Hello,

Thanks for the heads up! I will look into it and make an update asap ;)

You can make the google plus appear by going to style.css (both light/dark style.css) in code line number 378 you can see a code like this
.social li.social-googleplus a{background:transparent url(images/social/googleplus.png) no-repeat top left}
change the code above to this
.social li.social-googleplus a{background:transparent url(images/social/google_plus.png) no-repeat top left}

Basically I added an underscore to the google plus.

Thanks,
Joefrey

Hi, can you let me know when you can look at the issues on the theme? There’s still a delay on slider images, and the slider navigation is not visible on the dark version. I’ve sent you a reset password. Please let me know when you might be able to look at it. Thanks!

joefrey

Hello,

I look at it and it seems that there’s no problem at all. By the way the slider pause when the mouse are over on the slide images and it will continue when the mouse leave on the image.

About the slider navigation, you can fixed this by going to, wp-content > themes > goodagency > css > dark > style.css. On line code number 1316 you’ll see a css code ike this.

.flex-control-paging li a{width:11px; height:11px; display:block; background:#666; background:rgba(0,0,0,0.5); cursor:pointer; text-indent:-9999px; -webkit-border-radius:20px; -moz-border-radius:20px; -o-border-radius:20px; border-radius:20px; box-shadow:inset 0 0 3px rgba(0,0,0,0.3)}
.flex-control-paging li a:hover{background:#333; background:rgba(0,0,0,0.7)}
/*.flex-control-paging li a.flex-active{background:#000; background:rgba(0,0,0,0.9); cursor:default}
Replace the above code to this.
.flex-control-paging li a{width:11px; height:11px; display:block; background:#666; background:rgba(255,255,255,0.5); cursor:pointer; text-indent:-9999px; -webkit-border-radius:20px; -moz-border-radius:20px; -o-border-radius:20px; border-radius:20px; box-shadow:inset 0 0 3px rgba(0,0,0,0.3)}
.flex-control-paging li a:hover{background:#333; background:rgba(255,255,255,0.7)}
.flex-control-paging li a.flex-active{background:#fff; background:rgba(255,255,255,0.9); cursor:default}

Hope you will find this helpful :)

Hi Joefrey,

I see your video widget for the sidebar, but what can I do to embed video in the body of pages? I just tried old/new code from Vimeo and YT and was unable to get a video to appear on a page, so I assume the same goes for posts. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance! -Todd

joefrey

Hello toddand,

Thanks for the purchased!

Just use the [media] shortcode. Here’s an example code:

[media]<iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/35309941?title=0&byline=0&portrait=0&color=ffffff" width="400" height="300" frameborder="0" webkitAllowFullScreen mozallowfullscreen allowFullScreen></iframe>[/media]

Please let me know if you have any other concern. :)

Cheers, Joefrey

Sorry, one more thing, Joefrey. Can you tell me how to change the titles “Type” “Project URL ” and “Client” in the portfolio item pages? I am using the theme for something other than a portfolio and want to still use them, but change what they say. Where in the php or css files can I find those names and change them? Thanks!

joefrey

Open the file single-portfolio.php then on line code number 59-76 you’ll see the code there and feel free to edit them. :)

I figured out how to change the Project URL and Client titles in the single-portfolio.php file; however, I did come up with a new question: How can I shrink the size of the category names that appear across the top of the main portfolio page? Currently, I have a tad too many categories so they spill into two rows and I want to consolidate it to one row by shrinking the font size a bit. Thanks!

joefrey

Hi,

Open the style.css by going to themes > goodagency > css > dark > style.css

Then on code line number 848 – 850 you’ll see a code like this:
#filters{padding:0; margin:0 0 20px -10px; width:100%!important; }
#filters li{list-style:none; display:inline; padding:0 10px 0 0; color:#999}
#filters li a{padding:0 0 0 10px; text-decoration:none; color:#888}
Replace the code above.
#filters{padding:0; margin:0 0 20px -4px; width:100%!important; }
#filters li{list-style:none; display:inline; padding:0 4px 0 0; color:#999}
#filters li a{padding:0 0 0 4px; text-decoration:none; color:#888; font-size: 12px!important;
}

Thanks,
Joefrey

Hey Joefrey – I see you’re on here replying to other queries. Can you please reply to me as well? Im pretty close to packing it in with this theme unfortunately.

joefrey

Hello,

Sorry for delayed response. Below are the steps on how to set the full image on both homepage slider and featured image.

1. Homepage Slider
If you’re using Home Alternate template or (template-home-alt.php file) Go to line code number 88 and you’ll see a code like this.

$homepage_slider = wp_get_attachment_image_src( get_post_thumbnail_id($post->ID), 'homepage_slider', false );

Please replace the code above to this code.
$homepage_slider = wp_get_attachment_image_src( get_post_thumbnail_id($post->ID), 'full', false );

If you’re using shortcode [slider]. Open the shortcodes.php file by going to wp-content > themes > includes > shortcodes.php.

On line code number 664 you’ll see a code like this.
$homepage_slider = wp_get_attachment_image_src( get_post_thumbnail_id($post->ID), 'homepage_slider', false );

Just change the ‘homepage_slider’ to ‘full’

2. Featured Image
If you want to display the full image on the featured section.

Open the index.php file and on line code number 57-61 you’ll see a code like this.

if($i==1 || $i==6) { $img_size = 'masonry_1'; }
elseif($i==2 || $i==7) { $img_size = 'masonry_2'; }
elseif($i==3 || $i==8) { $img_size = 'masonry_3'; }
elseif($i==4 || $i==9) { $img_size = 'masonry_4'; }
elseif($i==5 || $i==10) { $img_size = 'masonry_5'; }

The logic are the same as I mentioned above. Just change these keywords: masonry_1
masonry_2
masonry_3
masonry_4
masonry_5

change them to ‘full’

Just set your image dimensions to the following (width/height):
masonry_1 = 610 by 354 pixels
masonry_2 = 358 by 196 pixels
masonry_3 = 358 by 335 pixels
masonry_4 = 252 by 177 pixels
masonry_5 = 348 by 177 pixels

I hope you’ll find this helpful, Please let me know if you have any other concern.

Thanks a lot :)

Hi Joefrey,

Congrats for the nice theme. I’ve noticed that the the layout seems pretty messed up in IE8 & IE7 . Not a big deal to me but it seems that a 9.5% still using these damned browsers.

Sorry but my previous comment was cut off. To continue… I think if you include modernizr in the header and not in the footer will fix it.

ThanX

Hello varometro,

Thanks for the heads up! I’ll add this issue in the next update of the theme.

One more note. Sorry if i’m missing something but although in Footer Settings there’s an option for entering the Google Analytics Tracking ID, i’dont think that the tracking code is embedded in any way into the pages.

joefrey

Hello varometro,

Thanks for the purchased! I added it already on the updated file version v1.3. :)

Hi Joefrey,

When I look at my site on a tablet, the menu is not working correctly. The menu changed. It’s changed into a long dropdown-menu with other layout.

This happens also if you look at the following link on a ipad: http://themeforest.net/item/goodagency-minimal-responsive-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/3139812 And you disable the frame (left uppercorner). Then the menu also change into a long dropdown-menu.

Is this oké?

Hi Joefrey, thanks for getting back to me on the navigation CSS .

However, the slider pages are definitely appearing ‘broken’ on the first slide. Example below (1st image):

http://bunbury.uk.com/theme_bugs.jpg

This also happens on any portfolio post with a slider. If you login with the details I’ve sent you, you can see for yourself on this page:

http://bunbury.uk.com/portfolio/scoundrels-branding-cd-design/

First the image takes forever to load, then the image navigation appears above the image, then the slide navigation buttons appear above the image. Everything corrects itself on the second slide. This doesn’t seem right.

Also the ‘sticky’ content is not sticky in the portfolio posts.

Would appreciate getting these issues resolved. Thanks.

Hi Joefrey,

Thanks for your excellent customer service here—much appreciated. The category pages for the blog show ALL blog posts instead of only the posts for the respective category. For instance, when I click the “websites” category page on your demo, it shows the post for both “design” and “websites.” How can I resolve this so the category link in the meta only shows the posts from that specific category? Thanks!

Hello toddand,

I fixed it and I updated the file on TF.

Hi Joefrey, can you let me know thoughts on the issues I’ve outlined above ASAP please?

  • Bought between 1 and 9 items

Hi – another issue unfortunately! This regards the portfolio post categories.

On the main portfolio page, when you click on the main portfolio category navigation/filter, you get all the posts in the category. As an example, I have 20 portfolio posts in the category ‘digital design’. When I click on ‘Digital-design’ (which appears as the slug for some reason), I get all 20 posts as the result.

However, if I enter the category by URL , I don’t get 20 posts, I only get 7? And the thumbnails display as a broken grid, as opposed to the filtered results. If anyone else is reading this, have a go and see if it works for you: http://yoursite/portfolio-category/category/

I’d really like my site to go live in the AM. I’d appreciate a response if you can spare a minute.

My other issue, is with the slider. Pages are definitely appearing ‘broken’ on the first slide. Example below (1st image):

http://bunbury.uk.com/theme_bugs.jpg

This also happens on any portfolio post with a slider. If you login with the details I’ve sent you, you can see for yourself on this page:

First the image takes forever to load, then the image navigation appears above the image, then the slide navigation buttons appear above the image. Everything corrects itself on the second slide. This doesn’t seem right.

Also the ‘sticky’ content is not sticky in the portfolio posts.

If anyone else has purchased this theme and is reading this, please feel free to respond if you’re experiencing similar.

Thanks in advance,

- Greg

Hi, thanks for responding. I’ve tried on a different machine – a PC instead of a Mac – and am experiencing the same problem. This is on Safari though. I’ve noticed the problem happens a lot less on Firefox. What Browser are you coding/testing to?

And I also spotted a problem with the category and the filter I outlined above? Can you let me know what’s going on there?

I have a lot of customisation in my theme. How can I update it without overwriting my changes?

Thanks,

Hi Joefrey!

I sent you an email to two different email addresses (superbthemes07 and joefrey.ma???? ) concerning bugs, which are still present in v1.3 of the theme.

- When I go to Site Options in the Appearance menu and go to the portfolio settings it automatically enables the “Show Related Project” option.

- The categories widget doesn’t work when in the “blog single page sidebar” widget area and the drop-down function enabled.

- How do I control whether the content of the caption area within a portfolio project is “sticky” or not? With some projects the content will scroll along when scrolling down, in others not. Seems random. And yes, I’ve tested this with projects that are long enough….

Should you want to see my site, please check your joefrey.ma** email account, I sent you some credentials to that address. I also wrote where I found the address (in your theme!)

Please reply :)

Thanks!

Another one…! My site is live, and I’ve just had an email from a client(!), stating that the filterable portfolio doesn’t work. They’re on PCs, running internet explorer, and when they click on categories, nothing happens. I’ve had this from more than one person there… Not so good.

Also, the layout appears incorrectly on iPhones. All the content is squashed into a tiny column rather than filling the width of the screen!
