How can I sort the menu items by price / also sort the categories.

raybreaker

Hello, please send your menu.php file on my email I should make some changes in it so you’ll be able to sort menu items by price, also how exactly you want to sort categories (by name, by slug etc.) ?

Best wishes!

Hi there, I’m looking to do a lot of changes to the theme.

For some reason though, it does not seem to recognize changes in the child theme css as I’m used too. I have created a header.php file in the child theme folder. Is this code still right if it needs to pull the images from the child theme images folder? background-image:url(<?php echo get_template_directory_uri() ?>/images/slider_bg5.png) !important;}

Also I’m looking to change the homepage quite a bit. Is it possible to make page templates for this theme as usual? I like your homepage options but would like to use another slider for the homepage. Can I just make a copy of the index page, turn it into a template with my slider php code and it will recognize the homepage options below the slider as long as that page is the homepage?

And lastly, I removed the description for the menu-items for all the pages. Where do I remove the Home menu-item description?

raybreaker

Hello,

1. Try to use get_stylesheet_directory_uri() instead of get_template_directory_uri().

2. Yeah I think that it will recognize it, just don’t delete “Extracting values that user defined in OptionTree Plugin” part at the beginning of the index.php file (line 3 – 26).

3. You mean description like “List of our dishes” for Menu and “Site home page” for Home? To remove it you should:

3.1. Go to “WordPress Dashboard > Appearance > Menus” 3.2. Click on “Screen Options” button in top right corner and then check “Description” checkbox. 3.3. Click on Home item and delete data in “Description” field.

Best wishes, Dmitry

hello raybreaker, I want to make a child-theme. but it doesn’t work. I can’t find out why. Did you block that possibility?

With kind regards

raybreaker

Hello,

It’s strange, I didn’t block that possibility, could you describe in more detail what problems you have?

Best wishes, Dmitry

hello Dmitry,

Thanks for reacting.

I have made a folder ‘wpgoodold-child’. In this folder: ‘style.css’. I can activate the child theme but i don’t see it linked in de <head>. Is there something wrong perhaps with the name of the template in the .css file?:

/* Theme Name: Goodold Restaurant Child Theme URI: http://example.com/ Description: Child theme for the Goodold Restaurant theme Author: Your name here Author URI: http://example.com/about/ Template: wpgoodold Version: 0.1.0 */

@import url(”../wpgoodold/style.css”);

.header-main { border-bottom:none; }

Kind regards, Franka

raybreaker

Hello Franka,

I found a bug that blocked possibility of using child theme, to make your child theme work now, please do following:

1. Open your header.php file (in parent theme);

2. Find following line of code (line 214 by default): <link rel=”stylesheet” type=”text/css” href=”<?php echo get_template_directory_uri(); ?>/style.css” />;

3. Change get_template_directory_uri(); part on get_stylesheet_directory_uri(); i.e. your final code should look like: <link rel=”stylesheet” type=”text/css” href=”<?php echo get_stylesheet_directory_uri(); ?>/style.css” />;

Hope it’s help, Dmitry

Hi Dmitri,

Yes, it works. thanks!

Another question: why do I see only 5 items in the menu while there are more? And: can I order the menu items? Franka

raybreaker

Hello,

Can you send link on your website and your admin login and password on my email (you may find it here: http://raybreaker.ru/wpgoodold/README/README.html) I should check it.

Best wishes, Dmitry

I can’t seem to get the slideshow working correctly. I followed the steps in the ReadMe – could you help me out?

raybreaker

Hello, I answered on your email.

Hey there, getting some odd issues. First of all, the header would not show up even when using the correct relative path to the image. I had to edit the header template to go directly to the absolute path.

Second changing the page background via the theme options does nothing.

Lastly, for now, the homepage slider is not working properly, it shows the four default images in a cluster on the side of the screen.

Brand new WP install and it doesn’t seem others have been having these issues so I am not sure why this is happening for me.

Thank you, Peter

Disregard my questions, my fault. I had accidently uploaded the whole directory instead of just the theme.

Still not sure why a zip wasn’t included for an auto install but, no biggy ;)

PeterBoll

Just confirmed, issues still persist after fresh install of new download copy of the theme on a fresh WP install

PeterBoll

Sorry for not including earlier, the site is live at, http://www.tinyentertainment.biz/thequeenscups

PeterBoll

no_title custom field also is not working..

Also, in addition to my other questions above, how might one add or change the subtitles that appear under the top navigation menu?

PeterBoll

Hey there,

Yeah I am aware of the area were you specify the new file, however when I do that the image does not change. (Not a cache problem) It doesn’t make much a difference to me as I can simply specify the direct location by modified the header.php but I thought I would let you know as it might be a bug.

Also regarding the twitter feed, I have modified my contact page sidebar file. But in the appearance settings I have no twitter handle specified but it still show the default Envato feed.

Thanks for the updated files regarding the error.

Cheers, Peter

raybreaker

Hello,

It’s strange … I should check it by myself, could you send your admin login and password on my email?

Best wishes, Dmitry

raybreaker

Regarding twitter feed: yes if you leave field black it still will show default Envato twitter feed. To delete it you should open contact-sidebar.php file and delete following line of code:

Hi raybreaker – great theme, I’m really enjoying working on it.

I have a problem with the sidebar on the menu page – it wont show grandchild links from menu category with a double indent, rather with only a single indent like the child categories. From start_el() it looks like it should handle this but it’s not working.

Any ideas? the page in question is http://mrsl.shanecalnan.net/bistro/ and the grandchild category is white wines below wine menu.

Cheers Shane

raybreaker

Hi Shane, I glad that you enjoying it!

By default theme don’t check depth of menu category and display it equally (i.e without additional indent). But I may add this functionality if you want, just send your functions.php and style.css files on my email (you may find it in documentation here: http://raybreaker.ru/wpgoodold/README/README.html).

Regards, Dmitry

Hi raybreaker, I’m having an issue with the twitter feed. It’s working perfectly in the home page, but not in the sidebar (menu, contact, about us, etc). Our URL is contigopanycebolla.cl

Best Regards Caro

raybreaker

Hi Caro,

Could you send your functions.php file on my email (you may find it here: http://raybreaker.ru/wpgoodold/README/README.html) and I’ll fix this.

Thanks, Dmitry

I’m using a child theme for Goodold Restaurant. I need to add some theme options using OptionTree. Can you please tell me if I need to copy the themes/wpgoodold/option-tree directory to my child theme directory?

I tried doing this, but when I add a new option, it does not appear in the theme options panel (Header).

raybreaker

Hello,

You may add new options directly in your parent theme and it will show in child. You should add theme options by editing ‘theme-options.php’ file in ‘includes’ folder.

Best wishes, Dmitry

Hello! I purchased this a while back and am loving it – thank you! However, nomatter what I try, I can’t figure out how to not show the border line that appears right below the header (the line whose color matches the theme color). I would like it to either not show at all or be able to display as white. Any tips you can offer? Thanks, Rae

raybreaker

Hello, I glad that you like it!

To hide this border line please do following:

1. Open your header.php file; 2. Find .header-main selector (line 66 by default); 3. Change it’s ‘border-bottom’ property on ‘border-bottom:0px solid #B94747’.

Hope it’s help, Dmitry

Hi, I reinstalled the theme and still no header/logo and no slider. Please help. Thank you!

raybreaker

Hello,

Currently full path to your theme looks like: http://www.bonappetityall.net/wp-content/themes/WordPress Goodold/wpgoodold/

It’s seems that you move to your wordpress installation whole “WordPress Goodold” folder but you should only move ‘wpgoodold’ that located inside (STEP 2 in installation instruction) i.e. full path to your theme should looks like: http://www.bonappetityall.net/wp-content/themes/wpgoodold/.

I recommend you to reinstall your theme again by carefully following installation steps here: http://raybreaker.ru/wpgoodold/README/README.html#installationSetup.

Kind regards, Dmitry

Thank you so much for your quick reply. 2 questions: 1. The slider still isn’t working?

2. How can I change the color scheme? I followed the directions and changed the css. I need all the red a different color.

Thanks! http://www.bonappetityall.net/
raybreaker

Hello again,

1. When I visit your site now, I saw another theme activated. Could you send your admin login and password on my email or change your theme on goodold so I may check it. I can’t be sure, but you still may try following to fix this issue now:

1.1. Go to "WordPress Dashboard > Appearance" and activate Goodold theme;
1.2. Click on "Customize" link below activated theme;
1.3. Then click on "Static Front Page" dropdown on the left and then check "Your latest posts" radio button under "Front page displays" header.

2. If you want to change your color scheme on predefined one. You should do following:

2.1. Go to "WordPress Dashboard > Appearance > Theme Options > General.
2.2. Select color scheme that you want in "Color" field.
If you want to create your own color scheme you should do following ( I will assume that you selected 'blue' color scheme ):
2.1.1. Open your header.php file
2.1.2. Go to line 83-110
2.1.3. Change value of #header-content, #slider-bg, .header-main, #header-telephone span, #page-title-wrap, #scrolltop-img, #prefooter-main-wrap, #header-bg, #customer-review, #mobile-customer-review selectors on anything that you want.

Hope it’s help, Dmitry

Hello,

Don’t sure why you have this problem, but when I’m visited your site all seems fine (none error looking for java or something like it). Maybe it’s browser related, so you may try to update it or install new browser (like latest version of Google Chrome).

Thanks, Dmitry

Is it possible to completely turn off the Google Maps portion of this theme?

raybreaker

Hello,

Yeah it’s possible but could you describe what Google Maps portion you want to delete in more detail. I may only delete that annoying pop-up window about entering Google Maps API, but I also may delete “How to find us” section in prefooter and Google Maps on contact page if you want.

Thanks, Dmitry

Hello!

How do I change the font in the sliders? I can’t seem to figure out how, and the block lettering doesnt really go with the style of the page…

Any help would be great, thanks!

raybreaker

Hello!

To change the font in the slider you should do following:

1. Open nivo-slider.css file that located inside css folder;

2. Find .theme-pascal .nivo-caption { selector (line 190 by default)

3. Change it’s font-family property on anything that you want.

Hope it’s help, Dmitry

Hi,

How can I remove this?
