Hi tomsky,

congrats to that very clean and good looking opencart theme. one question: is it possible to run this template as a boxed theme?

thank you

tomsky

Hi,

Thanks for your kind words.

There are 3 areas in this theme that stretch accros the whole page width: top nav, slideshow/ breadcrumbs / footer. If you want everything to be the same width (960px with this theme) there is some template editing that must be done, but nothing too complicated.

Kind regards

Thomas

Hey Thomas,

its a little harder then i thought. Do you mind helping me a little bit getting the theme in boxed mode? I got the size to 960px but everything is aligned to the left side. Can you help me getting the boxes in the middle?

Another question… how do i get the standard footer background changed? for the custom footer it is no problem, but the standard footer needs a wrapper, am i right?

thank you

tomsky

Hey,

Please bear in mind that this theme uses 960 grid layout, so you don’t have to (in fact, you shouldn’t) set any containers width. Use predefined values instead, please have a look at http://960.gs/ to find out more about this framework. If you send me a link to your website it woudl be easier for me to point you in the right direction.

Standard footer background can be applied by setting background colour to #footer element in stylesheet.css

Helo Tomsky,

Great job, congratulations.

Unfortunately I found a bug in the template.

In the transition from the slideshow, place a drop of the layout.

Could you help me?

I thank the attention.

tomsky

Hi,

Thanks for choosing our theme!

I’m not sure if I understand what is the problem? Can you explain this further?

Kind regards

No support for IE7 , why? Whether or not we all agree this browser version is outdated makes no difference to wast number of people still using it.

Clients still expect this compatibility as they don’t want to loose customers.

To me, any theme that doesn’t fully support IE7 has no real use no matter how nice it may look. You can’t force people to ditch this bad browser, it’s still hanging out there like a bad smell.

Another question, can this special slide effect on home page be disabled? I would like to run just a standard rotating banner, or perhaps only a static image.

Regards

tomsky

Hi,

At the moment IE7 share is only about 3%: http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_explorer.asp and this is even significantly less in Europe and North America. A remember that 3% was the level when most developers stopped supporting IE6 . Obviously it depends on customers visiting your site, so if there’s demand for IE7 support, we will definitely include it into next update.

Currently this theme uses custom slice banner and it’s one of the features that distinguishes it from other themes. But again, if we get people asking about possibility to choose what kind of slider they want to use, we will provide this.

Thanks for your comments

Hello, installing and setting up the theme is a breeze….. is it possible to get the slider on the left side op de demo? Were you can set the colour, etc?

tomsky

Hi,

Thanks for choosing our theme!

The slider is just for demo store so that you can see changes in real time, but it doesn’t offer possibility to save the values. So that’s why there is an additional module that allows you to do so (and it also brings more options, line uploading patterns etc that wouldn’t be possible with the slider).

Fantastic Theme, you have saved me from moving away from OC. Themes were more style than shop, this theme corrects that. Well done!

A few questions please…

1. If I add categories module on product page, the product section takes on scroll bars.

2. The default install was all black back ground. Where do I set main background color and header background color? They seem to be linked for me, I change one and they both change.

3. Your demo has and pop out color selection box, to set colors, how do I use that?

4. Hovering over the cart amount shows a 960 wide box with no values, its seems work okay on second multistore.

Thanks! Jazz

tomsky

Hi Jazz,

Thanks for your kind words and for choosing our theme.

1) Looks liek there is a small css bug, if you edit stylesheet.css around line 1120 the code reads:

.product-info { margin-bottom: 20px; margin-left: 10px; overflow: auto; position: relative; }

change it to:

.product-info { margin-bottom: 20px; margin-left: 10px; position: relative; }

and add this code:

column-left + .product-info {

margin-left: 250px; }

and it will be fine (I will include the change in the next update)

2) The main background is set to white, and can only be changed by editing stylesheet.css file (add: body { background-color: red; } to change it to red. I noticed that you set your top nav colour to white.

3) This slider is just for demonstration purposes as it doesn’t let you save the changes and do some other changes, such as upload and use background patterns.

4) I haven’t noticed this problem when viewing your store. What browser and OS did you use?

Many thanks

Hey, thx but is it possible to get that left module?

tomsky

Hi,

If you want, you can send me a private message and I can send you the files. But please bear in mind that the module will be visible for all people visiting your site.

Hi,

Is it possible to disable the facebook review plug-in and use the default system?

Thanks!

tomsky

Hi,

You can disable facebook comments (in your admin panel) but to have them replaced by standard opencart comments would require some changes to one template file.

Hi tomsky

I am having some problems on the product page. When there are more than one images. The images are display vertically and it stretch the whole page. You can look at it here. http://www.shopvantages.com/flytouch-III-M009f

thanks

tomsky

Hi,

I think you’re not using the recommended image sizes and product page layout (there is no category module) and that’s what causing the problem. You can’t set the width of the box that displays thumbnail images to take the whole page width, because the product info area has to be expandable (you can add more options to it). So, for you the easiest way to get it right is to make thumbnails smaller.

hi, is it possible to add an extra column to the home page (ie a 2 column home page)? is it possible to add a background image via the admin panel? thanks.

tomsky

Hi,

Adding second column to the home page might be tricky but it depends on what modules you want to display on your home page.

No, not at the moment, but with a few changes you could use the option to upload background pattern and change it to be a new website background.

In fact you don’t even have to translate those files, but they must be copied over from english to dutch folder, otherwise you’ll get error message.

Hi,

Neat theme, I read you have already answered a similar question regarding the home page slider, Are the only transitions easing? would like if you could disable the effects and choose from other slideshows.

Is this something that would be released in an update?

Cheers

tomsky

Hi,

You can edit many of the slider options, including easing, here is a code that invokes the slider that can be freely modified:

<script type="text/javascript"> // SETTINGS var settings = { /* number of columns to split image */ columns: 5, /* number of rows to split image */ rows: 4, /* x outside offset for transition start */ transitionOutOffset:200, /* transitionTime: in miliseconds */ transitionTime:300, /* transitionDelay: in miliseconds */ transitionDelay:100, /* transitionInEase: see easings here: http://gsgd.co.uk/sandbox/jquery/easing/ */ transitionInEase: "easeInCubic", /* transitionOutEase: see easings here: http://gsgd.co.uk/sandbox/jquery/easing/ */ transitionOutEase: "easeInCubic", /* slideshowDelay: in miliseconds */ slideshowDelay: 4000, /* slideshowOn: start slideshow automatically */ slideshowOn:true, /* thumb width */ thumbWidth:90, /* thumb height */ thumbHeight:60, /* horizontal spacing between control icons */ controlIconSpacing:8, /* border for control icons */ thumbBorder:2, /* border color for control icons */ thumbBorderColor:'#fff', /* pauseSlideshowOnRollover: true, false */ pauseSlideshowOnRollover:false, /* useControls: true, false (prev, pause/play, next) */ useControls:true }; jQuery(document).ready(function() { jQuery.sliceSlider(settings); settings = null; }); </script>

Sorry, I know it’s not very readable after I pasted the code here but I hope at least it will give you some idea.

Default-user

Thanks for getting back to me.

I have found that file and edited to suit at the moment. What I want to know, can I get rid of easing? and apply fade for example?

I’ve noticed when easing on an iPad or iPhone, its doesn’t display properly and causes extra width to the right.

Neat theme, happy with it so far!

tomsky

Hi,

Not sure if you can get rid of easing, but I will contact the author of theme slider and let you know.

Hi Thomas, Thanks for answering my first question. I have a couple more: 1. Does the download come with an installation guide? 2. Is there a live chat module/component on the Admin Panel? 3. Can a video module/component be used?

I have had some experience with Joomla and several modules can be obtained separately and integrated into the template. Does OpenCart allow for that type of integration?

Thanks, Paul

tomsky

Hi Paul,

1. Yes, this theme comes with installation guide, in fact you can have a look at this even before you buy the license: http://goinventive.co.uk/themeforest/granule/

2. It’s not included in opencart, but I’m pretty sure there is a third party live chat module that you can use with this theme.

3. Any module that is compatible with opencart 1.5.1.3 can be used with this theme.

Kind regards

Thomas
