I purchased this theme yesterday, got it up and running too. But I am experiencing a few problems.

1. Whenever I try to insert a bigger logo, the “Wishlist, My Account, Shopping Cart” content below it slips down on the slider. How do I reduce the space between “Create an account” but and shopping cart ?

2. I am unable to display any categories, they appear fine on the product page, but I cannot make them appear on the home page. I have enabled the category module on both the places. Please help.

Hi,

Thanks for purchasing our theme!

1. You can reduce the padding of the container element, #bottom selector, in stylesheet.css around line 221.

2) Do you mean displaying categories on the home page in the column (left or right)? If so, by default this theme doesn’t support it and if you want this functionality some further changes to the home.tpl and stylesheet.css files will be required.

Kind regards

I want to display the categories where it’s meant to be displayed on the home page.

tomsky

Hi,

With this theme, if you want to display categories on your home page in column left or right you’ll need to edit the home.tpl file and put your column-left inside grid_3 and content_bottom inside grid_9 boxes.

Thanks for the info. One more thing. The theme has the default review system replaced by facebook comments. How can I revert the review system back to default opencart one. I also want the facebook comment system as a different section above the Description/Review tab.

tomsky

Hi,

All you have to do is to:

1) in your product.tpl file (granule theme) find a section which displays facebook comments (this is inside the reviews tab) cut and paste this code outside of the tab section, above the tab links.

2) open up the product.tpl file from the default theme and find the review tab section (this is a code to handle default opencart comments)/ Copy the code and place it inside your review tab of your product.tpl file (granuke theme).

That’s really all you have to do.

I ve set

#tabs { clear: right; }

In stylesheet.css to avoid description jump to the bottom, but then, if additional images are present, the description jumps (float) to the right, so it shows just a few pixels.

So i m back to clear both and still have the problem jumping to bottom … sugest?

tomsky

Hi,

Just checked your site but cannot see the problem, did you manage to fix it?

Hi,

Thanks for purchasing. To have your store in Portuguese you need to download and install language pack, please search for it at http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=extension/extension

Hello, I managed to translate management system and layout. However, the links of Header, were very extensive. Which way to edit the names?

tomsky

I think these names are located in the header.tpl language file.

hi, I have some problems with the column right positioning. Whenever I assign any banner/content the column right position on home page, it’s displayed differently in different browsers. All looks ok in chrome buy Firefox and Internet Explorer screw the entire layout. Please check www.lolteez.com and help me out with this.

tomsky

Hi,

By default this theme doesn’t support multiple columns on the home page. If you want to do so, then some changes will be required to the stylesheet.css and home.tpl files. You need to place your column-right content into grid_3 container and the main content into grid_9. Please read more about grid960 framework as it’s used by this theme.

Ok, will work on that. My next problem is that I can’t make categories appear on the home page. I can see the categories on your demo site but no matter whatever I do i can’t make them appear on my homepage.

tomsky

Do you mean categories in the top, horizontal navigation bar or a column with categories?

gurugrv Purchased

The same way categories are displayed on the home page in your demo, at the top as a horizontal bar, just above the slider.

tomsky

Hi,

You just need to select one of your top level categories (catalog/ categories) and there is a check box which needs to be checked, otherwise the category will not be displayed in the main nav bar and if you have no categories then the menu is not displayed at all.

Thank You for the response, I totally missed that check box. All working fine now. There’s just this new problem now.

When anything is added to the cart, the cart area in the top header displays it. On my site the change is visible only on the product and checkout pages, the cart area on the homepage always shows 0 items in the cart, no matter how many items you add to it. The cart gets alright on the product and checkout pages. Please check my website www.lolteez.com and help me out with this.

tomsky

Hi,

You’re using two domains across your store: http://www.lolteez.com for homepage and http://lolteez.com for other pages. These are not the same for ajax calls, therefore it doesn’t know what products are in the shopping cart in the other domain. Change your store settings to use a single domain name.

This dosn’t validate against W3. When will that be fixed?

Default-user
ckvist Purchased

Nice. Link. – It still dosn’t validate!

tomsky

I’m aware of that. None of our themes validate because it’s not our aim – we aim to create functional, powerful, semantically correct themes and this is what we deliver. We use the Validator tool, but it’s not our ultimate goal to make everything 100% valid, that’s what this article is all about and we fully agree with that.

PS. > 90% of themes here on themeforest don’t validate. Does it make them bad and their authors unprofessional?

how would you manage the images of the manufacturers with this theme?

tomsky

There is a banner module which is used to feed images into your carousel.

Default-user

really? that’s very simple. I don’t recall though any options for animations, is that something special to the theme?

is the three still images that appear on the home page below the banner also special modules?

tomsky

Hi,

No, this is a part of the Banner/ Slideshow module which by default is included in any opencart installation.

Is there a way of changing the Slideshow effect on the Home page from the Block Building transition to something cleaner/simpler or no transition at all?

tomsky

Hi,

Unfortunately, no, there isn’t. Please refer to the slideshow.tpl file in the module’s folder as it contains comments on how this module can be configured.

Please tell me step by step I am new to open cart platform. Thank you!

tomsky

Hi,

You’re still using the original Category.php container – please replace it with the file provided by this theme (catalog/controller/modules/product/category.php).

As Removing the images that appear on the Refine Search? I would just leave LINKS , no pictures.

Page to which I refer:

http://goinventive.co.uk/themes/granule/index.php?route=product/category&path=25

Thank you!

tomsky

Hi,

Please edit the category.tpl template file, it contains code used to import subcategories’ images, all you need to do is to remove this code and your images will not be displayed in this section.

Thank you!

tomsky

I have replied to it anyway since I haven’t noticed your previous message before :) Hopefully it will help others with the same problems! Thanks for letting me know anyway!

The theme has just been updated, please re-download if you’re using our twitter module and are having problems with it!
