Very cool.

Do you offer a PSD file to re-create that featured image with your own pics?

cudazi

Hey there,

Yes, there are four PSDs for the logo, arrows and the promo image, let me know if you need any help re-creating it – thanks!

I was just curious :) – will be adding to my website :)

Love the template, however my question is can you have a page that won’t show up like the others?

cudazi

Hey, thanks for your message!

The pages are designed to load two ways but ultimately designed at the moment as a single page portfolio:

Single page:
http://www.curtziegler.com/sitedemo/gridfolio/wordpress/

Individual pages:
http://www.curtziegler.com/sitedemo/gridfolio/wordpress/contact/ http://www.curtziegler.com/sitedemo/gridfolio/wordpress/gallery/ http://www.curtziegler.com/sitedemo/gridfolio/wordpress/latest-news/

The main menu, when using the page template responsible for pulling in all pages at once replaces the URLs with the #go-pageslug to jump to a section.

Depending on the interest, I may create a second version for multi-page setups too, it wouldn’t be a big change.

Thanks!

Try re-applying/saving the page template to your page, seems odd – let me know – thanks!

Hi cudazi, I would like to use turkish characters, but it appers that the turkish characters comes with different fonts.

Can you please help me on this subject…?

Nice template by the way..thx

cudazi

I would visit FontSquirrel.com, they have nice font-face kits you can use. NetTuts+ has a nice tut or two…

In screen.css you will see where I defined LeagueGothicRegular, you will use your own there, the fonts are stored in the css/fonts folder.

Thanks!

Hi Curt – love the theme.

I am a beginner, so please bear with me, but where are the tutorials and documentation that go with this GridFolio theme?

cudazi

There’s a folder called help, open the index.html file inside with your web browser – thanks!

Is there an option for a slider on the top “main” page? This is a great theme. Very interested. Thanks.

cudazi

Hey there,

The top page/section is a static image but would accept any type of plugin, I will look into creating a slider shortcode on my next update.

Thanks!

I really love this theme and I bought it immediately!!!

Just a few questions/ remarks:

1. When you are in the gallery page and you select the first picture, its able to select the left arrow, when you press it, it loads a picture which is not on the gallery but on the portfolio page (seems like a bug).

2. The template doesn’t look well on an iphone (safari, opera), maybe its possible to fix it?

3. Is there a possibility to implement a search option (widget) somewhere?

Thanks for answering my questions, and keep up the good work!!!

Just fixed 1. by adding the “include” statement on the gallery page (see below).

[gallery link=”file” columns=”6” include=”201,202,203,204,205,206”]

cudazi

Hey there,

I appreciate your comments and purchase!

I’ll re-check the site on an iPod, I know the footer doesn’t stick (no support for fixed in those OS’s) but are there formatting issues?

You can drop the search on the main blog page, otherwise you can add your own on any template/area, here’s some information to get started: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/how-to-create-new-widget-area

The widget areas are defined in /libraries/widgets.php, check the sidebar.php to see how it’s inserted.

Hope that gets you pointed in the right direction!

Love this theme!

Are the portfolio items only shown in the list? Or are there individual pages/posts for those items?

Thanks!

cudazi

Hey there,

They are a new Custom Post Type feature of WordPress, it would be possible to have them open in a new page with some edits, even formatting the page they appear on if a single-portfolio.php page is created.

Thanks!

can you tell me how to get rid of one page sliding option, i would like to have separate pages for each category,

if possible i will buy this now – love this theme like your many themes, we have used some in other projects

cudazi

Hey there,

By default it’s a one page slider theme, I would need to dig into customizations to accomplish this. It shouldn’t be a ton of work but I just am a bit swamped at the moment.

The main edit would just be the header/menu.

I’ll add it to my list, thanks!

Hi,

It’s a great template. I like it.

One question:

I don’t know how to enable the footer to show (on your demo it shows the email, phone and “back to top”). How can I enable it also on my site?

My domain is: europreneurmag.com

Thanks in advance…

cudazi

Hey there,

The footer text is defined with the footer-left and footer-right menus assigned in appearance > menus. yoursite.com/wp-admin/nav-menus.php

Thanks!

First off… love the theme. Been looking for something like this for a while.

You’ve mentioned that you were considering making this so you could have pages with drop-downs. Is that going to happen in the near future?

I don’t know how the backend is set up, but is it possible to hardcode main page nav items with dropsdowns as well as blog categories that are dropdowns yet still have pages appear in the home page like you’ve got them? If you think this isnt too hard… I’m sold.

Cheers!

cudazi

Hey there!

The menu would be easy to get a second / third level using the WP 3 .0 menu but there is no dropdown plugin or css in place to style it as of yet. If you’re handy with dropdowns/etc it shouldn’t be a major undertaking.

Since it was really intended for a single page layout, dropdowns weren’t high on the list unfortunately.

Thanks!

I’m looking to put together a very simple site which pulls in various RSS feeds, flickr photos and twitter feeds from various sources. The site will look something like: www .edinbuzz .com

I’m guessing, I’ll need to make each homepage section a text widget so I can insert the necessary RSS feed info?

How easy is it to make each homepage section a text widget and how is it done?

Would this theme be suitable?

cudazi

Hello,

The four columns on the home section are already widget areas, you could drop in a text or RSS widget as needed.

If you wanted to add more: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/how-to-create-new-widget-area

Thanks!

Great theme! Can there be more than 7 sections (pages)? Can the sections be in any order? Can a google map be inserted in the contact section?

Thanks!

cudazi

Hey there!

Absolutely for both parts.

The main page can be any number of pages as long as they fit in the menu.

The contact page (or any page) can use the embed code from google maps, youtube, vimeo, etc…

Thanks!

Hey Cudazi,

Love the theme! Quick question, I’ve loaded up the portfolio section, and for some sets it seems to crop the display of the images in the slider, and for others it does not.

The crazy part is that if I reorder the images in the portfolio gallery, they will all display correctly… I tried removing some of the clearfix entries to see if that was doing it, but no luck.

Do you have any idea why this might be happening? Once you click on the image and the lightbox appears, the image displays correctly.

Example: ‘The Starett’ portfolio entry at http://carissa.jonberry.net. Images are sized to 640px wide.

I have a hunch it is taking the size of the final image in the array as the proportion that it should display the entire slider. Is there a way to make it take the first image as the size, or even align all images to the top of the div and dynamically apply the position of the < and > ?

Thanks, Jon

cudazi

Hey there, I’m not at my main computer at the moment but it’s a good idea to upload the images you’re using in the portfolio sliders so they’re all the same aspect ratio, the slider will fit to the height of the tallest image.

As for the lightbox cycling through all, I don’t have an answer to that off hand but check it’s configuration settings and http://fancybox.net/ – I’ll do some digging later on as I have time – thanks!

Cudazi,

Also, in the portfolio area, if you click to enlarge an image in the lightbox, is there a way to limit the left and right array to that specific post/entry rather than moving through all photos in the portfolio? I know that is more of a lightbox plugin function, but just wondering if you have any suggestions.

Thanks, Jon
