Gusteau: Restaurant WordPress Theme

Hi There, I am brand new to word press and trying to figure this all out. So i’ll start out with a basic question. To upload a logo on the main page when it says… “Fill the absolute path to your logo image. Maximum height: 145 px.” What does that mean or where do I do that from?

Also if I want to add the large image slideshow on the home page, where would I do that?

Sorry if these are obvious questions. Do you have any basic tutorials for how to work with this theme? I feel a little lost right now haha.

Hi Pavel, Thanks for the tip on the logo upload it was super easy to do.

As for the slideshow. I am trying to mimic the one on the demo preview by having 2 or 3 large images rotate through. I went through and tried what what you suggested and the pictures just showed up as a gallery with a comment section and a date. Not sure what I am doing wrong?

My site isn’t live right now as I’m still building it through the hosting site I’m using (Media Temple). Is that the login you need?

Basically the option that is supposed to say “Insert Slideshow” doesn’t appear when I try to make one.

Hello, i got a problem with the Registration Widget at the left Sidebar. I don’t receive Reservation Emails in my Inbox!

Contact page works fine, it’s only the Registration.

Hi, I am having some trouble making my site look like the one in the demo. I am hosting with bluehost. Does that make a difference? I can’t seem to figure out the menu function, and the main page slider. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks! Daniel

Is there any way when this theme is installed to have the sample content installed? I installed the theme and it’s completely blank on a new, wordpress installation. I have experience with wordpress, but all the themes are laid out a bit differently, so would be nice to have a good starting point.

I’ve noticed that the transparent text holder on top of the main image slider has no opacity in IE7 (and maybe also in others) – do you know a fix in the css to fix this?

I am trying to display my widgets on the right side of the page content. It seems like I can only put it on the left side if I am using the default template of the page. Is there any way I can make the sidebar to appear on the right side of the page?

In the Widgets I can see that I have ‘Right Side Area Top’ and ‘Right Side Area Bottom’ but when I place something there it doesn’t appear anywhere.

Could you please let e know if those Widgets areas are used in the template and how I can make it work.

How can I make my “home” page be the actual first page in this theme? I like the first page the way it is.. I just want that to be my home.. that is what I mean.. thanks
