No the theme uses the WordPress’ internal solution for cropping images. I only use timthumb to create the html5 video thumbnails.

It mostly depends of the internet connection speed until the scripts are loading. Though, it can be easily fixed with an “overflow: hidden;” line.

Did you insert the pics as featured images? When you create a new slide, on the right bottom of the page you’ll notice a box called “Featured image”. Click on “Set featured image”, upload your pic and then hit “Use as featured image”. Publish. Done.

Also, don’t forgot to select the type of the slide. On the bottom you’ll see a box called “Featured slider option”. You must select the type of the slide (ie. Full size image).

If you want to change the font, open the style-sheet you’re using (ie. black.css) and from line 121 to 128 you’ll find this code:

h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6 {
    font-family: Bebas, Arial, sans-serif;
    font-weight: normal;
    color: #000;
    padding: 0;
    margin-bottom: 10px;
    text-shadow: 1px 1px 0px #fff;
}

You can change the font to your custom one.

As for the boxes under the slider: In the archive you’ve downloaded from here you’ll find a folder called “help”. Open the file named “index” and you’ll find detailed instructions on how to achieve this.

I’ve checked the theme and it seems that this is happening only in certain browsers. Though, here’s how to fix it:

Go to the theme’s folder and open the file “featured-slider.php”.

Now, look for this code on line 70:

http://www.youtube.com/embed/<?php echo $video_url; ?>

Add this just after it:

?wmode=transparent

So, your code should look like this:

<iframe allowfullscreen src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/<?php echo $video_url; ?>?wmode=transparent" frameborder="0" height="236" width="420" style="float: left;"></iframe>

cool man, that works. By the other hand, i can’t find the “home_eirene.txt” file. Could you explain me where it is? I tried also to create a homepage by my own changing “page attributes” to “homepage” but nothing happens. I’m using Wordpress 3.2.1 (the laest) . Is this theme optimized for this version? You can create a blog by adding a new page and select from the “Page Attributes” option, “Templates”, Blog. Publish page blank. All the posts you make will appear on that page.

You can also find detailed instructions in the “help” folder from the archive you’ve downloaded.

Here’s how the blog should be set up. This is impossible not to work because it’s working for me and a lot others.

Step 1:

Create a new page (ie. Blog). On the right of the page you’ll notice a box called “Page attributes”. From the option “Templates” select “Blog”. Publish the page blank.

Step 2:

Go to your wp dashboard > Settings > Reading and on the option “Posts page” make sure there is noting selected. It should display – Select -.

Step 3:

Add the page you’ve just created to your menu.

Done.
