Hello again. I’m using the blog function and it’s working well, overall. I’m not completely satisfied with the way the post titles are displayed, though. Due to the both the font style and the color I’ve chosen for the theme (red), it’s actually quite difficult to read the post titles (as well as the overall blog title) if they have any more than 3 or 4 words because it takes a lot of effort to separate out the words.

Is there any way to increase the spacing between the words in the titles using this font? If not, can I change the color or font of the blog titles, only, but not the style of the rest of the website?

Hi there,

Sure, here’s what you need to do:

Go to the theme options page > Styling Options and paste this in the “Custom CSS ” box:


.full_width_title_content h3 {
word-spacing: 5px;
}
#wrapper .post_title {
word-spacing: 5px;
}

Edit the 5px to your desired number. Also, you could add, for example, letter-spacing: 2px; to change the letter spacing.

Save. Done.

Thanks! The second bit of code works—it spaces out the words in the blog titles when viewing the blog page itself. But when I actually click on a post to view the full post on its own page, I can’t seem to change the spacing (I’m assuming the full_width_title_content code was for this, but it doesn’t seem to work – I tried a number of other alternatives, but couldn’t make it work).

Hello, like the theme, just one query, any way I can lessen the space between the logo in the left hand corner and the top, there’s a little too much white space there for my liking.

60 & 40 are the default margins. Adjust as needed.

oh, and one more question, when I load up the homepage the slider images flicker on top of each other for a split second. I saw this was posted previously and I put the code into the styling option as suggested, but that didn’t work. I didn’t try your other recommendation because I didn’t know what you meant by the ending tag in header.php

Hi there,

Download the file and then extract the contents of the archive. You can either upload the folder named “handerson” via ftp (in the themes folder of your wp install) or upload the “handerson.zip” file directly into your wp dashboard and let wp do the trick. Then simply activate it from the Appearance > themes section.

Yes, this is happening due to Twitter changing their apis.

Here’s a quick fix:

Go to the theme’s folder > admin > widgets and edit the file named “latest_tweets.php”. Replace lines 59 and 60 (the old twitter scripts) with the new ones, these:

Select the default bg pattern and then paste this in the “Styling Options > Custom CSS ” box:

}

Replace the #000 (black color) with the hex code of your custom color.
