Hello,

I really like the look of the theme, but I have a couple of questions.

What does ‘Widget Ready – No’ mean?

You stated in an earlier answer that the colours are only able to be changed via CSS – is there a guide available to make locating those details in the files easier?

Thanks

Hi Michelleas

That is an error. It should say ‘Widget Ready – Yes’ which means that you can put standard WordPRess widgets in this theme.

We can give you a bit of assistance with this, we will also point you in the right direction in terms of sites and reference points when changing the CSS .

Hope that helps, if you have any other questions please let me know.

Hello What will the ecommerce feature include? How will it function?

What kind of font did you use for “handmade” logo? is that provided?

Hi Tommy

We will use the Woocommerce plugin for the conversion. All the features in Woocomm will be used.

Unfortunately the handmade font is not included in the theme as we cannot redistribute fonts. I would suggest trying Typekit or Google Fonts to look for something that is similar looking and free :)

HI,

Just got a small problem with my installation, which i hope you can help with.

Everything is working fine except the images on the blog posts don’t show up?

Going to the image URL in a browser works fine, but it won’t show up in the actual site.

the site is here: http://inkreations.com.au/category/general/

Thanks in advance. Stuart

Hi Stuart

It could be related to your image settings under theme options -> general. Double check that it’s set to Obox Main Image.

If the problem persists would it be possible to post this question in our forums?

You can register via this page on Obox: http://www.obox-design.com/register.cfm

Once you are registered you will be redirected to your profile where you will need to enter your Purchase Code.

To get your purchase code you need to login to ThemeForest and go to the “Downloads” tab, you will see a link below the theme title called “License Certificate” http://cl.ly/7thr. The .txt file in that download contains your “Item Purchase Code” which you can then use to login to the Obox forums.

This is a lovely theme, which I would like to have as an e-commerce theme for a site I am building now. How long do you think it would be before the e-comm version is ready? I’m wondering if I can hang on a bit longer for it. Thanks!

We should have something ready in 1.5 weeks time. There has been a slight delay in terms of getting the styling perfect.

Sorry for the delays :(

Excellent – we can hang on for that.

If you need anyone to do any beta testing, I would be very happy to volunteer for that (I will buy the theme obviously), just so I can get my hands on it asap!

Thanks for the quick response.

He David, I sent the email. Heard nothing from you yet.

Sorry for my impatience. Dying to get the site up and running, and running out of time!

Problem with your template, please fix or advise:

When adding the “text widget” to widget area two (as seen here: http://www.spotlightonhealthyliving.com) even if it’s blank with nothing in the text widget.

1. the squiggly lines go missing from the bottom of the widget area. 2. Page shadow gets bumped up to the middle (see live example)

Once I remove the text widget, everything returns to normal. And once again it has nothing to do with what I put in for for text. Having no code or text in the widget still causes the above 2 items still happen.

Please advise.

Thanks.

Hi Munchy,

If you enter in a title for the widget (even if it’s a blank title, like a space) does the issue persist?

After seeing your great handmade theme, I decided to buy this one. I have to say that I think it’s a great theme with a lot of opportunities but for a beginner as me it’s a very difficult theme. I’m now working on it for a week and I don’t get the theme like you guys maked it. I already asked a friend who is good with computers but he also doesn’t understand it. My question is: can’t you send me the theme as you displayed it because I don’t know anymore what to do. I just want to upload my stuff and get started. I know you want me to go to the forum but this doesn’t work with my password and license number and also the download for the newest update isn’t working. Please can you help a desperate lady?

The exact problems I have: - I can’t upload pictures in the ?/gallery places. - When I want to posts something I can’t choose for with page it is. So the posts are coming anywhere/everywhere.

Please help!

Hi Ellen

In order to fix that you need to add the category to the menu:

You can link directly to a Gallery Category in your menu. Go to Appearance > Menus, scroll down to the 2nd Category box and add your desired Gallery Category to the menu.

If you would like more assistance I’d suggest posting it in our forums as our support team will be able to help out much quicker.

Yes, by adding a blank line for the title fixed the issue.

Not sure why I had to receive 3 emails to fix the issue with your template? 2 emails stating I must ask the question in the forum and 1 with the real answer. I guess it was too hard for your support team to email the answer the first 2 times?

obox
obox Author

The reason we request you go to the forums is because it’s easier to manage. We have had many a rage email from users who refuse to use the forums and we can’t stay on top of it then.

It’s much better via the forums and the service we offer is quicker which is why we insist on it.

I know it’s not quick to login the first time but once you’ve done it then it’s a lot easier from there.

Hope you understand Munchybugs :) As much as we’d like to support users from any medium it’s just not possible to reliably deliver a quality response.

I just tried to upload to Wordpress and the install of the theme is failing. Here’s the message:

Unpacking the package…

Installing the theme…

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Theme install failed.

Any idea how to fix? I’m using WP 3 .3.1 Thanks.

Hi fullbirdmusic,

You will need to use handmade-single.zip to install the theme, which you will find in the handmade-package.zip.

Placing a space for the title in the text widget still breaks! What’s wrong with the theme. Honestly support.. I’m not asking for special programming here. Your theme CSS is broken. I should be able to place a standard text widget at the bottom and not have problems!

Please fix the code and send me an update.

Here’s what’s happening:

1. If I do NOT place a space in the title bar, the .page-shadow class appears in the middle of the page.

2. If I DO place a space in the title, the page appears to render fine, expect the .page-shadow ends up covering half of the text widget. Use Firebug on my site: spotlightonhealthyliving.com and you’ll see a bottom ad on the right hand side for a blender. The whole image is clickable, expect it’s not with your CSS . .page-shadow is covering half of it, making only the top part of the image clickable.

This is a major problem with this theme. Maybe most people that purchase your theme don’t use text widgets… Past themes purchased from Themeforest have top notch CSS .

Hi Munchybugs

This is to do with the PHP . We are aware of the issue and are considering the best way to fix it. If you place a space there it will work however we are aware that that is not the best solution for now.

Once we figure out the best method we’ll definitely post an update.

Fixed your CSS problem:

Added: z-index: -1; to .page-shadow class.

This is even a problem on your live example.

obox
obox Author

Thanks Munchybugs

I will submit this to the dev team and post a hotfix. I think it will be better if we redefine the z-indexes instead of using a “-1” value as it’s not entirely reliable on the older browsers.

None the less we appreciate you posting your solution :)

And I also can’t make changes in my SEO /OCMX options. It doesn’t saves the changes. The same is for the general options. It’s broke and not working!!!

And when you use widgetized pages. How can you make a sidebar into it? I put al kind of widgets in it but it doesn’t show anything. It stays blanc.

Hi there – I really like the look of this theme. I have a few questions before I would consider purchasing it.

1. Are there previous/next buttons on the blog page and on single post pages?

2. Is the home page just a compilation of recent blog posts?

3. Is it possible to put a custom image on the background rather than the blue two tone?

4. I don’t see any examples of full size images or a lightbox. Are those options? My site would be very focused on images and I want to be sure I could have a gallery of some kind that is more like a carousel and less like a photo with a description next to it. I see on the dinner page you can lightbox an individual photo but not forward/back to the others. Is that possible?

5. Is there a way to add a contact form?

6. Can you have sub-navigation under the menu tabs?

6. Is it possible to change the primary font for the headers, etc?

Thank you.

Hi Shineyem

Thanks for your interest in Handmade!

1. Yep there are next/previous buttons. You can set the amount of posts to list per page and if you go over that then it will display a page counter.

2. Yes, you can set the exact categories though. This will help you separate featured content from just regular blog content.

3. Yep, we use the WordPress background feature for this.

4. You can use the lightbox plugin in this situation. This will also allow for next/previous image navigation once the lightbox is open.

5. Yep, we recommend using Gravity Forms for this.

6. The menu’s do allow for drop-downs. This is powered by WordPress.

7. You can change the fonts of the titles by using our Typography manager.

Hope that helps, if you have any other questions please let me know.

arbowden Purchased

I’m going to come out and say it. I’m new to WordPress and themes. I loved your theme and it’s layout. I have tried to watch videos and read as much as I can about widgets and layouts and all the stuff that comes with it…. but I’m lost. I’m frustrated and lost and I just want to get my layout to look pretty much like the live preview (except with my changes). Is there a tutorial or a FAQ or a “this is what the heck an OCMX – Image Carousel Widget is and how to get it to work” kind of thing? or at the very least this is what widgets we used and placed them in the Xwidget box or sidebar or footer or wherever you placed them…. Just thought I’d ask.

Thanks, Angie :crying:

@arbowden, keep at it. Having purchased several themes, this one is for sure top notch.

WP takes time to fully understand, but it’s not that bad once you pass that initial hurdle.
