Hi,

I have recently bought the theme! Great one in deed! :)

I have but one question. On my web site, the default user role is Author, so when a users sign up, they become Authors, allowing them to upload files.

But from the front-end ‘add post’ section, an author can upload a photo only through the “upload image” section. When one tries to upload a photo via “add media” button, it produces an error.

When I submitted a ticket about the issue, I was informed that it was normal and users are not allowed to upload images via “add media” section (media library).

Is it possible to change this? I’d like my users utilize “add media” button too.

Thanks.

Hi,

editing the front end upload using Wordpress’es default features is kind like.. cumbersome. The main idea is that, while downloading a file, WP checks for current user’s capabilities, along the current post. As the post is not created yet, current subscriber/author can’t have any edit capabilities on it, and fails the upload. Changing user’s capabilities would mean big security gaps, as hackers can intentionally change the post ID and edit any post they want. I know, WP doesn’t like too much the frontend editors, but that’s how it is. Yet, I do promise we’ll look into this closely, maybe we’ll find a workaround, and have it in the next updates.

If you’re OK with re-writing the permissions, try to search for a plugin doing that.

Best wishes, Nick
