Hello,

I have two questions.

1. Where I can change the sentence “YOU MIGHT ALSO LIKE” which is under the artcle?

2. Where I can change the search text “search and hit enter…” and the search results (if there’s no such word) “Your search did not return any results. Please try using a different search term.”

Thank you!

Hi again,

Instead of translating the theme manually I’d definitely recommend using the po file included in the lang folder inside the hickory folder. For more info on translating check out https://solopine.ticksy.com/faq/2794

Hi again,

Is there any other way I can change it manually? I already changed a lot of things there and I don’t want to ruin my template now.

Thank you.

Hi there,

Sure, as Hickory uses numerous widget areas you’ll need to manually change it within each widget area theme file. You can look in the “inc” folder and then within the “widgets” folder. Here, you’ll see a number of homepage widgets. It’d probably be easiest to do a “Ctrl + F” find search within each widget document and locate the words “on” and “by” that way.

Cheers!

Is there any way to increase the width of the main content from 940 px? Right now the sidebar takes up 300 px (which is fine by me) but the content is only 620 px so quite narrow. Do not want to use the full witdh page for posts so if there’s any way to increase it would be great!

Hi Natazzie,

Unfortunately it would requrire quite some customization, so I’d recommend you look for a freelancer who could help you out.

Hello once again,

I hope it’s my last question. Can I get rid of the footer black boarders? And just have the boarder background on all the page?

Thank you.

SoloPine

Hi there,

You can add the following to Appearance > Hickory Options > Custom CSS:
.container.footer, .footer_top, .widget_area {border: none !important;} .widget_area {background: none;}

Hi,

I guess it was not my last question. The easies way to show you of which boarders I want to get rid of is making you a pic of this. Please have a look at this:

These two black boarders to to the right and left of the footer.

Thank you!

Hi there,

Ah, ok. If you’d like to remove the black BG color from either side of the footer, you’ll want to apply the black BG instead to the footer’s container area and the gray BG color to the footer in general. You can use:
#footer {background-color: #f2f2f2;} .container.footer {background-color: #000;}
Cheers!

Please could I have the demo xml? :)

Hi, I can’t fix the front page of the layout to include a feature post and the two newest posts next to it. I’ve tried >Hickory Options >>Homepage Options >>>Featured Area Options and set it to Display feature ON picked the block layout but where it says ‘Posts’ I can’t search anything?

Is there a way to set this up so that it rotates and features the newest articles?

Thank you in advance.

SoloPine

Oh gotcha, that image is being pulled by gravatar which is what WordPress uses for profile images on your site. You can set up a gravatar profile here gravatar.org, important that you sign up with the email address you’re using for your profile on your site.

Otherwise you can use a plugin such as https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-user-avatar/

Hi! We are using You theme and it’s wonderful!

Is there any way to change alignment of featured photos (always centred) showing on widget area? Would help a lot to chose from left/centred/right alignment. Because, if it is always centred, people on photos are often cut in half. http://imgur.com/SnnkC5D

SoloPine

Hi there,

You can check out the following plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/manual-image-crop/ :)

Thank You. But this does’t help. We can do it in Photoshop before uploading media. Photo in post and thumbnail have different size.

We need to be able to organise how thumbnail will be aligned as featured post (to manage position). Thank You ;)

SoloPine

Okay, so you want to display two different images one for your thumbnail and one at the top of your post?

You would need a new custom meta box in your post settings to upload an additional image. If you submit a ticket to http://solopine.ticksy.com we can point you in the right direction.

Have you guys ever encountered a problem with images that are not loaded on page visit?! when i reload the page the images still not show up… i have to full reload the page with shift to show the images on frontpage… any ideas ?!

SoloPine

Hi there,

Don’t recall anyone reporting similar issue. But if you submit a ticket to our support site http://solopine.ticksy.com and include your site url we can take a better look at it

Cheers
