Just bought this theme and Im really excited to use it! Question: Im trying to take the & symbol out of the ribbon so I can display my business name…can you help with this? Thanks

Default-user

Sorry, another question: Im unable to click on any of the page buttons on the top menu. Any tips on getting these to work?

Studio164a

Could you send me a link to your site?

To remove the ampersand from the ribbon, override header-homepage.php in your child theme, removing the ampersand from line 27.

I’m having a huge problem with the image carousel not displaying on my home page. Nothing I’ve tried, and no matter how many times I follow the directions on page 4 of the manual, the carousel refuses to display on my front page.

This is having a secondary (even worse) side effect of making my Menu “disappear”, because it’s now hidden behind the main banner ribbon.

How can I fix this? Please help!!!!

I was wondering if there is a short-code to add the recent posts to the homepage like it is in the demo page under “from the blog”.... thank you in advance for your time

Studio164a

Yes, that’s added using a shortcode. It’s covered in the documentation on page 9.

Hi guys, I love the theme in theory but I can’t get it emulate the front page of the demo site here (with the three columns across). The documentation seems a bit vague on this point. Also, the link to the demo site in the documentation gives me a 404, which is a bit frustrating! Could you explain how to recreate the demo front page?

Default-user

To explain a bit further – the Style options don’t do anything when I select them on the pages.

Studio164a

Sorry about the 404 message — our server went down a couple days ago and we ended up migrating to a new server. The new URL for the demo is http://themes.164a.com/hitched/

For the columns, have you installed the Grid Columns plugin?

Could you send me a link to your site so I can help identify the issue?

Cheers, Eric

Default-user

Doh! I hadn’t realised I needed to install the Grid Columns plugin. Thank you very much for that, now it works great. Really appreciate the quick support!

How do i get more than 30 photos to appear in the gallery?

Studio164a

Which gallery is this? The standard galleries do not have a limit as far as I am aware.

Hello, Will I be able to add more fields to the RSVP? Also will the RSVP be stored somewhere on the backend, if so where?

Studio164a

Yes, you can certainly add more fields to the RSVP. The form is created using a form builder, so it’s relatively easy to do so. RSVP responses are stored in the backed, as well as emailed to you.

For the RSVP validation, will I be able to set it in the back-end admin panel? If so, then will I be able to use combination of letters and numbers? For example: RP14

Studio164a

There are a number of validation options provided by Visual Form Builder including: URL, Email, Date, Number, Digits, Phone. Beyond that, I’m not aware of any other validation options.

Will the website work on a Godaddy hosting account with Wordpress installed?

Studio164a

Yes, provided the Wordpress version is at least 3.5 (older may still work, but we don’t support older versions).

This site is a little more difficult to setup than I thought. I cannot get the carousel to display. The same problem that Melorama had.

I’ve purchased themes in the past where you can go into demo site (read only access) and see how things are setup or a video tutorial. The manual seems straight forward but I am doing something wrong. More images in the documentation would be very helpful. :)

Studio164a

I believe you were in touch with me via email, is that correct? I’m responding to that email now, but will copy the response here as well.

You may find it easier to get started by importing the demo content, which is located inside the content folder.

In any case, there are a few things you should check for the homepage gallery:

1. Make sure that you have a gallery selected inside the Carousel Gallery metabox on the homepage.

2. Make sure that the gallery you have selected above has images inserted via Wordpress in-built gallery function. You can add a gallery by clicking the Add Media button (while editing the gallery) and then selecting Create Gallery.

I hope that helps point you in the right direction. I do appreciate the feedback about the documentation. That is definitely something we’ll look to improve.

I’m having a weird problem with some of my headers on the fullwidth pages on my site displaying a vertical hairline at the end margin of the text. Here are a few screenshots:

http://d.pr/i/j5i6/4zT21Sgd http://d.pr/i/fNfJ/5NEoQXPS

The weird thing is that this line doesn’t show up on other page headers of a similar text-length:

http://d.pr/i/EIVu/4Wn17Rho

Also, this line does not show up on Chrome or on Safari on iOS 7…it only appears when I view these pages in the desktop version of Safari (v7.0.1 on Mac OS X 10.9.1).

Any ideas what’s going on here?

Studio164a

Another customer noticed a similar issue. It’s a bit maddening, because it only shows up sometimes and on certain browsers. I did work on a fix for the other customer. Could you send me an email via the contact form on our profile page so that I can send you a new version of Hitched which should hopefully resolve this for you?

Hi, I’ve created a gallery in Wordpress for the carousel but only 8 images display. Is that a built-in limit? I’ve tried removing and re-adding the images but it doesn’t seem to make a difference.

Studio164a

Hmm, interesting. It looks like this may be a bug in the carousel script. I’ll work on a fix next week.

Hi there,

I’ve just tried to update the images in Carousel Gallery for the first time since posting the original gallery but none of the changes I make get applied… I’ve tried creating a new gallery with the images I want and changes the Carousel on the Homepage to this new gallery but all it does is remove the original Carousel Gallery and doesn’t display anything in its place. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks, Yana

Studio164a

Hi Yana,

After you update the gallery, can you see the new images when viewing the gallery by clicking the View Gallery button?

Also, which version of Hitched are you using? The latest version is 1.9.

Hello, I sent a comment about 2 months ago and never got a response. I cant click on any of the buttons at the top of my homepage and Im hoping I can get some help with that. Thanks for your time. http://www.cakesbydesigndfw.com/
Studio164a

Hi there,

I’m so sorry if I missed your email a couple months ago; we certainly didn’t mean to ignore you!

You should be able to resolve this easily by adding the following to your child theme’s custom.css file:
#primary_nav {
    position: relative;
    z-index: 1;
}
