This is a really basic question but how do I attach posts to specific pages? I want to have one page that has only fashion posts and another that has just restaurants…

Also, how do I turn off the mobile theme? I personally can’t stand viewing websites in the mobile version…

thumbs up for creating the theme, it’s really nice. Several questions before purchasing –

1. When inserting an image to post (the one on the top of it which being used as a featured image in the main page), is it possible to plant it as an embed code? I upload my photos to my Flickr account and not to my blog, so when I want to show them on the blog I use the Flickr embed photo code, like this one, for example:

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/yeho/8373310466/" title="i was counting money (or: the dawn of capitalism) by Yoni Lerner, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8332/8373310466_66fc78dc45_z.jpg" width="640" height="425" alt="i was counting money (or: the dawn of capitalism)" /></a>"

If it’s not possible and I have to upload the image to the blog, is it possible to give it a link to the Flickr photo page so when clicking it a new tab with the Flickr photo URL will be opened?

2. In the width range between 481px to 679px there’s an horizontal scroll bar. Can it be fixed?

3. The maximum width is 960px. Since the theme is responsive and there are more and more users using wider screens, do you plan on making the theme compatible with higher resolutions in terms of responsive design? If not, is it complicated doing it by myself?

Thanks! :)

ThemeZilla

Hi

1. No, you would need to upload the image to WordPress in order to assign it as a featured image.

2. You could if you wanted edit the media query CSS to set the horizontal overflow to hidden. That should hide the scrollbar.

3. No, there are no plans to make a wider version of the theme. It’s certainly possible to do but it would require development work.

Hi,

is it possible to always have an add in some of the posts in front page ?

Thanks

ThemeZilla

Hi, there’s no in-post ad system built into the theme by default. You may find a plugin out there which does something similar for you. Or of course you could hire a developer to add in a custom ad manager for you.

Hi

Love your theme What about SEO optimization ?

Thanks

ThemeZilla

Hi, all our themes are built with SEO in mind, using correct tags in correct locations etc. You would sill benefit however from running one of the popular SEO plugins to get your on-page SEO exactly right.

Hi, I am thinking of purchasing this beautifull theme. Two questions: Is it possible to have a fullscreen background image on pages? And is it possible to link an item that is on the homepage to another page that looks like the homepage?

Regards, Donna

ThemeZilla

Hi,

1. Not out of the box however it is something which could be added with CSS.

2. Again, not out of the box. It’s certainly possible to achieve but would require some development work.

Hi,

Great theme! Here’s an idea for you for the next revision:

I put a sticky header on my theme using jQuery Waypoints. Check out my code: JS: $('.main-navigation').waypoint(function(event, direction) { if (event === 'down') $('.main-navigation, #header').addClass('sticky'); else $('.main-navigation, #header').removeClass('sticky'); }); My CSS: @media only screen and (min-width: 768px) { .main-navigation.sticky { position:fixed; top:0; width:100%; z-index:1000 } #header.sticky { margin-top:47px; } }

Its a fairly small change but people love the option for a sticky header so maybe you could put an option in the backend. Maybe it would make you a few more sales too! :)

ThemeZilla

Awesome, we’ll take a look into that thanks :)

Hello, Two questions regarding the responsiveness:

I’ve tried viewing the demo in an ipad (the new ipad, if it makes any difference). the navigation bar doesn’t look good and there’s only one column showing: http://yeho.co.il/pic.png

In addition, i’v tries viewing it in my iphone 3gs, but i’m getting the full size site. Am i not supposed to get the 1 column design? http://yeho.co.il/pic1.png

thanks :)

ThemeZilla

Hi, when viewing the demo from a mobile device, try closing the black demo bar at the top of the screen.

Hope all is well brother, i just purchased the theme. I would like to get sample content as demo page. Can you please send it me, that is missing in the package.

I would like to setup exactly same as demo here http://www.helixcon.com/aisolve/

Thank you!

ThemeZilla

Howdy, you can download the demo content from our support forums http://www.themezilla.com/support/

Very nicely done! One question before I buy: you have buttons/links that navigate the viewer from one project to another

example: http://demo.themezilla.com/hoarder/how-the-cloud-can-improve-business/

the buttons in the very bottom <Chicken Coop and Michael Scott>

Would you be able to move them up, above the project? they kind of lose their purpose so being so low in the layout…

ThemeZilla

Hi, it’s certainly possible yes, you would need to manually relocate them by editing the HTML directly. These links are often placed at the bottom to give the reader somewhere to go after reading the article on the current page.

Hey Orman! Excellent theme you got here. I was looking at the demo and I was wondering if you could explain how the “Read More” works. Do I need to create a manual excerpt in WordPress or is there an option on the theme options?

I just want to know if I’ll have to individually create each post’s brief summary if this theme is smart enough to summarize on its own. Thanks!

ThemeZilla

Hi, yes the read more is manual, you can set it to show at any point in your content. You can make this automatic by changing the code however (1 line of code – simple edit)

Default-user

Oh so it would be like this? http://www.wikihow.com/Add-Read-More-to-Wordpress

And what line of code would make this automatic? From looking at the WordPress codex, I have to add this code to functions.php?:

// Puts link in excerpts more tag function new_excerpt_more($more) { global $post; return ‘ Read the full article…’; } add_filter(‘excerpt_more’, ‘new_excerpt_more’);

Is this what you mean?

So this theme doesn’t use excerpts for the main page?

Sorry about that. I’m just making sure I know what I’m getting into before I buy this.

ThemeZilla

No, the theme does not use excerpts. You don’t need to use the above code to use them, but it’s along similar lines. You replace the_content with the_excerpt http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/the_excerpt

Hi. Can Single posts be full-width? ie no sidebar? Thanks.

ThemeZilla

Hi, not without modification no. You can choose not to populate the sidebar which would stop it from showing, but you’d need to edit the CSS to make the remaining fill the space.

This is a beautiful theme. Great work. I was wondering, can I change the header? I don’t mean the text, but rather, can I add some kind of custom banner?

Thanks!

ThemeZilla

You can upload your own logo so theoretically you could upload your banner/image instead – the logo can be any size.

Search doesn’t work on Quotes?

ThemeZilla

Hi, it does work yes but WP searches post titles. With quotes the quote source is the post title http://demo.themezilla.com/hoarder/?s=michael

You may be able to use a plugin to add advanced search functionality.

Hi. How to show only the title of the posts in front page? I found the “the_content” in content.php file but can’t find where to edit it…

thanks in advance.

I click in “create account” but my purchasing code is returning “invalid code”.

ThemeZilla

Make sure you are copy/pasting the code correctly, no spaces before or after. If that still fails, drop us an email with your purchase code and we will take a look for you.

Hi. Awesome Theme. Is there any possibility to activate an AUTO LOAD MORE, after scrolling to the end of the page? Like “infinity scroll” (Jetpack Plugin)?

Thanks!

ThemeZilla

It’s more than likely possible yes but it’s not something we’ve included. You might be able to use a plugin or have a developer put this together for you.

maximaldesign

ok. any suggestions which plugin can handle that?

ThemeZilla

I wouldn’t know off the top of my head unfortunately. You would need to have a look at what is available and try them out.

Hi, this theme looks great! Just a question before purchasing: is it possible to change the background? I would love to be able to replace the greyish bows with a backdrop that fits perfectly within my website topic… Cheers

ThemeZilla

Absolutely, you can change the background with CSS – a very simple change.

HI. the admin-ajax file is loaded many times causing an very slow page. why is that? heres an screenshot: http://cl.ly/image/353v191L3v44

i found the problem. its the zilla-likes Plugin which causes these repeating admin-ajax.php calls.

ThemeZilla

Ok thanks, we shall take a look at that.

I am thinking about purchasing this theme. First, I’d like to know: is it possible to add an” about me” section on the side bar, and can you upload your own logo? Is it easy to add social media to blog posts? Thanks in advance!

ThemeZilla

Hi,

1. Yes, you can add a text widget to the sidebar

2. Yes, you can do so from the admin panel

3. You would need to use a social sharing plugin. There are plenty around to choose from, we made one ourselves too http://www.themezilla.com/plugins/zillashare/
