Can somebody please teach me how to use this download?
Do I use dreamweaver?? I downloaded this thinking that I could just upload it onto my wordpress site but I can’t…
Thank you!
Hi,
this template is plain html/css, the WordPress version is this one: http://themeforest.net/item/wordpress-elegant-flickr-theme/241459
This html version is static, so you should edit every page by using any text editor or dreamweaver.
Parker
Hi there, would it be difficult to add a twitter feed to this template?
Many thanks
Hi,
it depends on your skills. You would need to find a js script able to read/load the feed and then integrate it into the html pages… there are many resources and tutorials on google, just make some search
Parker
Hello
I love this theme. I have a question before I get it. Envato has advised us to contact the author for showcasing your theme on our website.
Is it possible for us to showcase your theme in live preview on our server so that our clients get to know how this theme works?
As you know, it’s not easy for us to sell our custom service without showing our clients how the theme works.
Of course we’re going to purchase the theme first, showcase this theme on our website in live preview, and then we’ll buy each license for each domain, or website for our clients.
I hope this will help increase the sales volume of this theme for you, Envato, and us.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks!
Hi,
if you do it respecting the rules I have nothing against this
Cheers,
Parker
Hi
When I click on a thumbnail or an image there seems to be some css behind the scenes blocking the viewing of the larger version of the image…
Have you had this before/can you advise how I overcome it please.
Thanks Steve
Hi,
could I have a link to this page to see the issue with my eyes?
Parker
Can do, but can you advise what your email address is so I can email you rather than post it here please.
Hi,
use the contact form on my profile page.
Parker
Really like this template! Just one question.
The dark background: http://themes.parkerandkent.net/elegant/contents/back_grounds/dark/01.jpg
Did you create that grey background yourself? Or can I find it somewhere online? I really like it, but obviously the “Elegant” logo wont fit with my site. Is it possible to get the background without the clouds?
Hi,
sorry but I don’t think we have the source anymore. We made the background just during the execution of the image and we didn’t separate the level for it.
Parker
No problem! I can throw something together in photoshop. Thanks Parker
Cool
Parker
Hi Parker, this may be a “hire a developer” question but I just wanted to take the chance and ask…
Is there an easy way to have each html page to have it’s own folder and have a clean HTML link…
such as instead of:
http://themes.parkerandkent.net/elegant/light/contact.htmlI could have a clean link without the ”.html” tag
http://themes.parkerandkent.net/elegant/light/contact/I attempted this by trying to go line by line and change the links to all important java files, css files etc but no luck.
At the end I just copied every file into each folder for every page, that seemed to work but it’s a bit “hacked” and crazy. If I could hire you for this could you give me a quote?
Thanks!
-Victor
Hi Victor,
sure, send me an email via the contact form on my profile page.
Parker
Really like this template! Just one question. How would I change the position of the logo…want to move it down a bit.
Thanks!
Hi,
open the css/pk_style.css and at line 227 edit this line:
.pk_logo{ position:absolute; margin:0px; padding:0px; z-index:9000; text-indent:-9999px; }with this:
.pk_logo{ position:absolute; margin-top:100px; padding:0px; z-index:9000; text-indent:-9999px; }The edit is to the margin: margin-top:100px; replace 100 with your preferred value.
Parker
Thanks Parker! I was able to move the logo where I needed.
Hi,
glad about that
Parker
Hi Parker,
I have ourchased another template by you, but in flash and now I want to move to html/css templates.
I love this one, the elegant, but I also like the other html/css ones wich have more options, lime blog etc
Just that I discovered that only the elegant ones works with sliding fingers on iPad. Would this feature can be enable in the other html/css templates which look very similar to this one?
Thanks, Meste
Hi Meste,
which templates don’t work with sliding fingers? None of the html/css templates can have a blog, eventually just the styled pages, but not the functionality… for that you need WordPress themes.
Let me know,
Parker
I could not replied to your reply so here it is…
I tried on my iPad all your other template which are not WP, with the exception of the elegant template neither of them work with sliding fingers (I am talking of the photo galleries).
Meanwhile I purchase this one and learning it to adjust to my needs
meste
Hi,
I understand, in fact we made it finger ready only this one, because the gallery style. The finger sliding feature isn’t something standard, is just an option for this template.
Parker
Hi Parker,
I purchased your flash Minimal Website Template for my website, I’m a photographer.
I can’t afford loosing the chance to reach iPad and iPhone users anymore and I think the Elegant Template would be my choice.
But I like my “old” flash based site, can I use the Elegant only as alternate content loaded by flash-unfriendly devices?
Thanks
btw: great and clean work, as usual
Davide
Hi Davide,
thanks
Regarding your question, the easiest way is to make a welcome splash page with the links to the 2 versions… so the user can visit the site in flash or html version. Making it automatic is more complicated.
Let me know,
Parker
Thanks for your quick answer,
I’m not a developer, so maybe I’m talking nonsense, can I make it automatic using
<div />to display the Elegant in case flash is not supported? Thanks again
Davide
The div you’re talking about is for an alternate content. This is a full template that needs scripts and the whole page body.
Parker
Can I use it to automatically redirect the user to a new page loading the Elegant instead of creating a welcome splash page were he would be aware of the two versions?
Thank you
Hi,
well, yes, with some js… I’ll see if I find something that could be used for this purpose and I’ll let you know.
Parker
It would be great!
Thanks a lot
Davide
Hello, I’ve purchased your template and I love it, it’s great! I just have one query as I’m struggling to find a way of making this change. I’d like to include a 20px bottom margin/padding underneath the footer so that’s it’s not as close to the web browser window. I’ve tried applying this but something must be overriding it. If you’re able to advise it would me much appreciated. Thanks, Sarah
Hi Sarah,
open the js folder and in the pk_gallery_alpha.js, pk_gallery_slide.js, pk_news.js, pk_page.js and pk:services.js wherever you find this:
change it with this:
Parker
That’s great…thanks Parker, works a treat!
You’re welcome
Parker
Hi Parker,
I’ve purchased the Elegant template some months ago and I think that is spectacular!
I’m writing you because I’ve got a little issue with the footer: I would like to insert a standard footer (e.g. the one on the page services) under the navigation footer of the web gallery, but when I go to modify the footer height on the pk_style.css as bellow:
footer{ clear:both; overflow:hidden; width:100%; height:50px; } /* originally it was 30 */
in order to insert another line, a scroll bar appears on the browser… How can I do to keep the footer sufficiently height for two lines, without having the scroll bar?
Thank you very much, have a nice day,
Filippo
Hi Parker,
The sites almost all complete (using the template) and looks fab
I have one last question which I hope you’re able to advise on.
In IE8 , the navigation menu doesn’t work, it displays vertically rather than horizontally. I tried tweaking the code from <header> to and the same with hgroup but no luck.
If it’s possible to let me know if there’s a way of fixing this, that would be great
Many Thanks, Sarah
I love the design, but I’d like to enquire before purchase whether a tablet version is included in this (as shown in preview image). If so, is it possible to show a larger screenshot or live view of that? And, one last question – for tablet viewing, is it only in portrait? Or is landscape also available? Thanks!
Hi Parker Great design! ... However, viewing the live demo on my IPAD2 (in PORTFOLIO section) the gap between the top menu and the featured image + gap between featured image and bottom scroll menu is huge. You have to continuously scroll up and down to change images. Also the same with NEWS and SERVICES . BIOGRAPHY , HOME and CONTACT sit well on screen. Is this fixable? Cheers Bronwyn
love your work! can the ipad frame be removed so images have their own edges? and easily? thanks!
Parker – Can you tell me how to round the corners of the center text boxes on each page? Thank you, H
Hi,
How can i move the nav bar down ?
thanks,
Adam
Hi, I just purchased your template, and I’m noticing that it’s slightly different than what you have advertised. Meaning, the main background with the P&K with the cartoonish background is missing. Also, their is imagery missing on the news/services, etc. pages (model pictures, etc.) Is what I downloaded the latest version? I would like to have what I was presented with.

+4 moreHi everybody,
during these last 5 months I’ve been through some personal problems, now everything is back to normality
I really apologize with everybody and I’m so sorry that you guys didn’t get any support from me for a so long period.
I’m so thankful that you have continued to purchase our themes and hopefully enjoyed them too.
From today I’ll be again available to help you guys. Obviously I will start to answer only to the new support requests, so if you have old questions unanswered please post them again. For me would be impossible to go back and check all the comments for every theme we have.
Sincerely,
Parker p&k
