Jonathan,

I would like to set up three pages, each one showing 8 different projects; 24 in total. At the moment your shortcode does not allow one to select the first eight for one page, the next eigth for the second and the rest on the third page. How may I achieve this? :confused:

Hello Epilude,

Thank you very much for your message and sorry for the daly. I’m currently in the process of adding categories with filtering capabilities to the projects shortcode, and I will release another update very soon that will allow you to do exactly what you need.

Thanks again for your suggestion and keep posted for the coming update! Cheers, Jonathan :)

Jonathan,

It’s been 13 days since I posted my issue. Could you please respond? I really need the theme work with WPML asap.

Default-user

Jonathan,

Are you preparing an update for WPML support? It’s taking too long… I need this compatibility working..

Default-user

Jonathan,

It’s been a month since I posted my latest problem, and more than 3 months since my first post, and I’ve got no sign of an answer.

I just want to know: Is there any way to make this theme work alongside WPML? Could you answer me that?

JoNa

Dear danielpadua,

Thanks for your messages, I’m really sorry for the delay! I have released an update recently for the Hybrid WordPress Theme which fixes a compatibility issue with the WPML plugin. Please take another look and let me know if everything is working fine now. I hope this helps and again sorry about the delay! Cheers :) Jonathan

Hello everyone,

Thank you so much for your patience, I have been extremely busy for the past week and I sincerely apologize for the unusual delay!

I will go over each and every question, and rest assured that everyone will get a reply! Please allow me until the end of tomorrow to go over each request. For new support requests, could you please be so kind and open a ticket on my dedicated support platform: dedicated support platform

Thank you again for your understanding and your great patience. I have made adjustments in my schedule organisation in order to allow more time for support, while also being able to work improving my item.

Finally I have a good news, an update for the Hybrid WordPress Theme is coming soon! The update will greatly improve the Projects: navigation controls, categories with live filtering, and more! You will now be able to display different projects at multiple places, each with its own set of options. I expect this update to be released on ThemeForest by next week, and even earlier for those accessing the git repository directly. So stay tuned!

Best regards, Jonathan

Is this the most current help video for the Hybrid? http://youtu.be/wkBexlVnW6I

Hello 702markm,

Thanks for your comment! This video was actually made for my other Spark WordPress Theme, but the backend is very similar in both themes :)

Most of the documentation is available right within the Theme Options page next to each setting. There is also a “Help” panel at the top, and an embedded YouTube video within the “Icons” tab for further guidance.

When the theme is being installed/activated, it will automatically import all the sample content, including creating appropriate pages, assign them in the Theme Options panel and build the menu automatically. Therefore there is very little to configure, just edit the texts and replace the images with your own and you should be good to go!

May you need any further information or need any assistance with the installation and configuration of my theme please don’t hesitate to contact me again via my support website: jona.maddim.com/support – I’ll be more than happy to assist you ;) Best, Jonathan

Nice to see this theme evolving. Keep up the good work Jonathan,

I see you have released v2.1, which I have installed. I notice the project page now loads eight items, with an option to view more. I am unable to find a way to set a different set of projects on a new page or apply any filtering. Is there any documentation available?

Secondly, to apply nested menus, does one have to use the ‘manual’ option and use WP menus?

JoNa

Hello Epilude,

Thanks for your comment! The number of projects per page can be customized by specifying the “number” attribute in the [latest_projects] shortcode. Here is an example:

[latest_projects number=16]

You could also choose to display all available projects at once using the value -1:

[latest_projects number="-1"]

Documentation for all shortcodes is available under the “Shortcodes” tab in the Theme Options page ;)

I’m going to implement Projects Categories and further filtering possibilities within the next few days to respond to your previous request, so keep posted! I suggest you to watch directly the git repository of the Hybrid Theme on Bitbucket as it allows you to get access to the latest commits even before they land on ThemeForest!

May you have any further questions or need any assistance please don’t hesitate to contact me through my Support Center: jona.maddim.com/support – I’ll be happy to hear from you :)

I have released a compatibility update (Hybrid 3.0) this morning but it is not yet available for download on ThemeForest as it under validation process by the Envato team. However you can already download the latest version of the Hybrid theme directly from its git repository on Bitbucket using your purchase code: jona.maddim.com/support

If you already updated to the latest WordPress 3.6 or intend to update, please make sure to download the latest version of the Hybrid Theme first!

Thank you for being so fast to update and constantly tuning the theme! Do you recommend we upgrade by over writing files or by creating a new theme folder (version)?

JoNa
JoNa Author

Hello TehStig,

Thank you for your comment! What I usually do myself is that I simply rename the current theme folder from “hybrid” to “hybrid-old” and then I upload the new “hybrid” folder containing the newer version :)

Note that you’ll have to re-import your custom icons afterward, take a look at this FAQ: http://themeforest.net/item/hybrid-responsive-retina-onepage-wordpress-theme/4682141/faqs/15943

I hope that’ll help! Please let me know if you encounter any issue with the update, I’ll be happy to assist you ;) Best, Jonathan

JoNa can you tell me how to edit the theme slider labels? I see the defaults: Slide 1, 2, 3 etc. but when I add my own there’s no title, and I’d like to rename them since they are where the img ALT tags are pulled from. Good for SEO.

When I click the edit link, I can edit slides but tried clicking/searching everywhere in Theme Options, even in different browsers in case it was a java thing.. still can’t edit the labels.

JoNa
JoNa Author

Hello TehStig,

Thanks for your message! You are right that it should be possible to edit the slides’ titles. I will make sure to enable this possibility in the next update. In the meantime if you feel like it, you could simply edit the following file: /wp-content/themes/hybrid/admin/js/spark-admin.theme-options.js and delete the entire line 27. That will make the “Title” field appear.

Alternatively you can download the current beta of the next Hybrid version (which already displays the title field when editing slides) right here: https://bitbucket.org/maddim/hybrid-wordpress/get/beta.zip (make sure to register here first to access this link) ;)

I hope that it helps, please don’t hesitate to contact me again via my support platform if you need any further assistance, I’ll be happy to help! Cheers, Jonathan

Jonathan,

I have just updated from v3.0 to v4.0. Under ‘Projects you say that you have removed the “Show More” button if no more items are available ….does not implement. I am still getting ‘Show more” at the end of the last project block, which when clicked gives ‘No more items’. :-(

JoNa
JoNa Author

Hello Epilude,

Thanks for your comment! Yes you are right. I was actually speaking about the first page, when there is only one page then the “Show More” button doesn’t appear. For example if you display all projects available at once then this button doesn’t appear anymore.

I will definitely look into hiding the button also when reaching the last page in case of paged projects, so keep posted for the next update and thanks again for mentioning this to me ;) Cheers! Jonathan

I just updated to wordpress v3.6 and when i reloaded my site i recieved this: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare has_shortcode() (previously declared in /home/promptin/promptin.com/wp-includes/shortcodes.php:153) in /home/promptin/promptin.com/wp-content/themes/hybrid/core/spark-framework/helpers.php on line 86

help! Thanks!

Hello,

Thanks for your message. There is a new version of the Hybrid Theme that is fully compatible with WordPress 3.6 – Download it from your ThemeForest Downloads page: http://themeforest.net/downloads ;)

To unlock your current situation, simply rename the folder containing the older Hybrid version (should be located at “/wp-content/themes/hybrid/“) and log in to your admin interface.

Please don’t hesitate to let me know via my support site if you need any further assistance with this issue, I’ll be more thanhappy to help! Cheers, Jonathan

Attention please!

Thanks to all the great people who reported the bug of the “empty Theme Options page” introduced in the last update of the Hybrid Theme (Version 4.0).

I have already addressed this bug and published a hotfix (Hybrid Version 4.1) which should be available for download on ThemeForest very shortly.

Until it gets validated by the Envato Team, you can download it now here: https://bitbucket.org/maddim/hybrid-wordpress/get/v4.1.zip (make sure to register here first).

The problem was that I forgot to uncomment 2 lines in the functions.php file, so instead of re-installing the whole theme, you could just edit the following file: /wp-content/themes/hybrid/functions.php and uncomment line 7 and 12.

I hope that helps! If you need further assistance with this matter please feel free to open a ticket at jona.maddim.com/support – I will be more than happy to help ;)

Best, Jonathan

The fix is now also available on ThemeForest, you can now download the latest version of the Hybrid WordPress Theme (Version 4.1) directly from your Downloads page: http://themeforest.net/downloads

Hello stranger90,

Thanks for your message! What is the issue precisely? I just checked out your site and it looks to be working fine. Perhaps you could use columns to structure the form?

If there is a JavaScript error could you please take a quick look at this FAQ to see if it fixes it? http://themeforest.net/item/hybrid-responsive-retina-onepage-wordpress-theme/4682141/faqs/17226

Thanks! I look forward to your reply and to being able to assist you further ;) Best, Jonathan

I have updated to the newest version working with the child theme. I still have 2 problems: a.) I can not upload a new set of icons (the icon website btw is only working with Chrome, FF and IE do not work for any reason). I can download existing icons, upload it to the icon website, select new set of icons, download it, upload it ot WP, save changes, but there is no change. Any hints? b.) I did not find a way to change the black color around the sliders and around the logo. Any hints?

Thx a lot!

JoNa
JoNa Author

Hello sschanz,

Thank you for contacting me! Why can’t you upload a new set of icons? Do you get any error message? Nothing happen? When you list the available icons can you see new entries after saving? Please let me know if you would like to me take a look for you (you can send me your credentials via jona.maddim.com/support).

Regarding the header’s background color it can be changed using custom CSS, please see previous reply of mine:

Both the Header, Footer and the Main Slider backgrounds can be customized using simple custom CSS. Simply copy/past the following to the “Custom CSS” field in the Theme Options page:
/* Header */
header {
    background: red;
}

/* Main Slider */
.main-slider-container {
   background: orange;
}

/* Remove the black arrow from the header */
.spark-main-menu a {
    background: none !important;
}

The color names can be replaced with color codes like “#ffffff”.

In order to customize the background color of the footer you can use the following:

/* Footer */
footer {
    background: purple !important;
}

Keep in mind that in order to keep the white text readable you’ll have to choose a dark background color for both the header and footer. If you would like to opt for a light color then you will have to change the text color to black by adding color: black;, here is an example:

/* Set Header background-color to white */
header {
    background: white;
}

/* Set all Header links to black */
header a {
    color: black !important;
}

/* Set active-link to red */
header a.current-menu-item,
header a.active {
    color: red !important;
}

If you would like a white (or very light) background color for the footer then you better remove the “dark” class from the footer which will restore black text for all titles and texts. To do that, edit the following file: “/wp-content/themes/hybrid/footer.php” and simply remove the word “dark” that appears on line 12.

Once done simply set your light background color via CSS:
footer {
    background: white;
}

Again the above is to be added to the “Custom CSS” field in the Theme Options page.

I sincerely hope that the above helps and that it’s not too complicated. Once you get familiar with basic CSS you can do a lot of customization quit easily! If you need ANY further assistance please don’t hesitate to let me know, I will be more than happy to help as much as I can ;) Best, Jonathan

Please let me know if you need further help with this, I remain fully available ;) Cheers! Jonathan

In the Projects Section, when you click on a picture, it expands, and there is an icon “X” in the upper right hand corner. Is it possible to change that icon somewhere from wp-admin?

Also, where does one see the messages or change the settings for the “Contact” section?

JoNa
JoNa Author

Hello goldstrom,

Thank you for contacting me and thanks for the question! All the icons can be easily replaced with the IcoMoon App (watch video tutorial). To replace the “X” icon just pick up a new one and then invert the old one with the new one in order to make sure that the new one has the code of the old one. You can do that by simply dragging the old one into the new one and IcoMoon will automatically invert them.

Tu summarize:
  1. Make sure to watch this video tutorial first
  2. Once you understand how to add icons, add a new “X” icon of your choice, but before you download your new collection, after you clicked “Font”, click-hold on the new icon and drag it into the old icon and then release.
  3. Now you can Download your collection and import it into the Hybrid theme

Regarding the Contact Form, you can configure your email address in the “Contact Form” tab in the Theme Options page. All messages submitted using the form will be forwarded to your email address. Also, if you need to translate the confirmation message shown to users, you can do so by editing the .po/.mo files located in /wp-content/themes/hybrid/locales/ ;)

I hope that you will find this information useful! May you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to contact me again – I’ll be more than happy to assist! Cheers, Jonathan

Great theme! 1. Would like to have accordion on a page and a sticky flyout slider from side. Can you recommend a plug-in to implement either or both features (short codes) that won’t affect anything else in the theme?

JoNa
JoNa Author

Hello goldstrom,

Thank you for your comment, very appreciated! I believe any plugin would do perfectly. The Hybrid Theme works with most plugins, just make sure to check out this FAQ if you encounter any issues with third-party plugins: http://themeforest.net/item/hybrid-responsive-retina-onepage-wordpress-theme/4682141/faqs/17226

For accordion plugins you could look at the “accordion” tag in the WordPress Plugins Directory: http://wordpress.org/plugins/tags/accordion

I hope that you will find this information useful. Please feel free to contact me again if you have any further question! ;) Best, Jonathan

Thanks; yes, for the accordian I found two – Collapse-o-matic and Cubetech Accordian that do work. I am having no luck with sticky slideout plugins. All four I have tried interfere with the theme’s menu!
