Hi, great theme and from what I have read support too which is nice to see. I was wondering if it is possible to ‘bake’ some of the theme choices into the site so the viewer can make the changes. I know you have it on the preview page, is there anyway of having this in the final version and a way to set what options I want the view to be able to change?
I might only want them to be able to choose the background image or a few color choices.
Thanks
A user changing the theme is not a standard option in this theme… however, if you do decide to purchase it… I can give you the two files that control that theme switcher and you can hack it up how you wish
Sorry, one more question,
How are the sections on the home page organised? Are you using categories for each spot?
The top area with the thumbnails, is that one category, the two posts on the left what category are they and the single post above the portfolio posts, what category is that?
How customisable is the home page? Can we see examples? You do mention it in the theme description, but i see no options to change it?
Thanks again.
The thumbnails on the top are the last 9 posts entered by date…
the 3 extra sub-featured sections below that are either posts or pages that you choose to feature and can be set in the Theme Options panel…
The homepage is customizable by you can remove the block areas (main featured/thumbnail section, sub-featured/gallery section, twitter section) and you can flip-flop them ( eg. you can make the thumbnails be on the left instead of the right… same thing with the 2 sub-featured sections… they can appear on the right instead of the left…)
Ok that sounds great.
Is it possible to change the top section to be set to a category? instead of the date?
One last question, is it possible to have a few pages set up like the home page? I want to have each category page looking like the home page with the latest posts in the top OR featured posts of that category in the top half?
Thanks again
Sorry didn’t get back to you sooner… but am working on and hopefully going to be pushing some updates tomorrow on this theme incorporating some of what you want… (eg. able to show top section by latest in category)
as for your other question… in order to make a page similar to the homepage for each category… you’d have to create a child theme from my template, and then copy/alter the homepage.php template file that comes with this theme…
FYI , the theme has been updated where you can now show by the latest in certain categories on the homepage featured section…
Hi lukykind,
Love the theme; it’s beautiful. I do however have a bit of an issue. I’ve done an automatic install of WP on my Media Temple (my host) server. I don’t know if the issue is that it’s running WP 3 .1 but I’m getting this in the browser when I activate the theme :Any clues or help?
Thanks
Looks like you’re running it on PHP4 … I think that’s the default for MT… should be running on PHP5
see something like this for a fix or contact MT directly and ask them how to switch to PHP5 … http://kb.mediatemple.net/questions/1701/Why+does+my+site+revert+back+to+PHP+4%3F+
Thanks for your purchase and praise… let me know if you need anything else…
Doh! I forgot to check that. Brilliant! All working now. Thanks
Glad I could help…
Let me know if you need anything else and thanks again!
This theme is amazing! such attention to detail! Have you considered making any Drupal themes?
Unfortunately… If I made Drupal themes to sell here… I’d be broke…
they don’t do to well here…
But thanks for the praise and kind words… they’re always good to hear
@luckykind the good drupal themes go well – City Magazine has had 72 sales in the past 2 months but I understand why you’d be hesitant they don’t get much exposure on this site. Hopefully that all changes
I’ve had over that many in half the time with this theme… plus you’ve got to remember prices are pretty low here and most of us make only half of that price… so just to make back for the time we put into it… a theme for WP/Drupal/some other CMS system needs to have 300-400 sales over it’s life span… at least that’s my opinion… you have a better chance of hitting that developing a WP theme… no proof that you can do that here with a Drupal theme…
but your probably right that exposure here for Drupal and other CMS stinks and is a cause to the problem of low sales for those… feel free to blame the UX guy in charge here…
Hey, Purchased this the other day and absolutely love it!
Just 2 questions thoguh, what font have you used for the Hype logo in the demo? And do you plan to add a feature that will automatically rotate the top featured section?
Thanks! Jon
Thanks Jon for your purchase…
I can’t remember the font exactly… I actually did that logo for a comp awhile back… I believe I manipulated whatever version of a font it was… it’s most close to this one however
http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/bebas-neue
As for the rotating the feature section… I’ve been getting a lot of requests for it, so I may revisit it when I get a chance… might be a couple weeks before I can though…
Thanks again for your purchase and praise, let me know if you have any other questions…
Hi and thanks for making a great theme. I am having problems with the videos on the page: http://colaistelurgan.com/index.php/videos/ They won’t load for some reason, could you tell me why? Also I followed the instructions with the logo placement but nothing?
I appreciate it if you could get back o me ASAP .
Regards, Mark
Hey Mark…
Thanks for your purchase… I visited your site… looks like you got the video part worked out…
As for the logo…. in the documentation, section
, there was a part where you were suppose make sure “Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders” under “Settings > Media” was unchecked… currently you logo.png file is under a year/month/ directory…
change the settings as required in the documentation, reupload or move that logo to the main uploads folder… and you should be good. Let me know how it works out for you and let me know if you have any other questions…
Thanks again!
Hi again, thanks for getting back to me. I will sort the logo out thanks. Just regarding the video, they don’t seem to be playing for us? any ideas?
Regards, Mark
Just to update: Its working in Firefox 3.6.9, IE and Opera but not Chrome and Safari (Webkit)
It’s vimeo and it’s funky iframe…
I’ll look into why when I get some time, but you do not need to embed code for vimeo videos… you can just enter in the URL of the video in the “Video URL ” text box right above that… eg (http://vimeo.com/14669548)
Hi Luckykind, I just noticed that you have a vimeo video working perfectly on your demo (The Music Scene). Any idea why?
because I used a URL instead of embed code that I mentioned above… not sure why vimeo uses iframe VS the normal “object/embed”... but they do and it’s funky…
Fortunately, the embed code is not necessary… you just need to enter in a valid Vimeo URL …
Hey luckykind,
found an bug:
http://img3.imagebanana.com/img/y3wcdc32/Bildschirmfoto20100909um14.38.31.png
on the reght and left side the background will be repeat!
Regards, Udii
Thanks for your purchase Udii…
I wouldn’t really consider this a bug… it’s background repeat… and probably only shows for less than 1% of people that have monitors the size of battleships…
I have a 27” iMac (the biggest you can get) and it doesn’t show for me…
Hey luckykind,
I have one more question:
on your website http://hype.lostbeans.com/blog/ above is the navigation point “Blog”
How you have implemented this Link?
Best regards, Udii
checkout section “B” in the documentation…
Hey luckykind,
have an 27” iMac, too!
Here an photo: http://img3.imagebanana.com/img/xis1iv2q/Foto.JPG
hehehe… yeah I have the 24”... which was the biggest at the time when i bought it
Again though… not really a bug and only a small percentage of users will even see it… I’ll look into giving the option in a future update when I get some time…
Hey luckykind,
thanks for your great support! have solved the blog problem
regards, Udii
Greetings- if i wanted to use one of my own background files, i would just have to save over one of the background files already coded into the system. Right? just doublke checking this idea
If you’re talking about the main background (like the white bg in the demo) you can just change that through the wordpress admin…
if you’re talking about the decorative themes (like the mosaic bg in the demo)... yes, you’ll need to edit the code to add a new one… or you could save over one… the only problem with saving over it would be if I pushed an update… you would need to make sure not to save over that file
let me know if you have any other questions…
Early to the theme, but I must say that the customer service from Luckykind is OUTSTANDING ! Not to promise that he will do this for everyone, but he spent quite a bit of time helping me debug something on my server today. Way beyond what I even expected when I noticed the problem. I highly recommend this vender’s products based on this experience. I am new to this, and he really came through.
Thanks for the praise and I’m glad everything got worked out

+7 moreReally great theme, the graphic elements are perfect and just what I was looking for. Thanks
Honored to have such a great illustrator use my theme…
Let me know if you have any questions…
Hello Danny, i’m planning to purchase your beautiful theme so i would like to ask you if it would be possible as option to put its own logo in the logo area (probably stupid question) and how big this logo could be. Kind Regards
Yes you can… the documentation tells you how to easily add it in… the recommended max-dimensions are 188px by 72px…
Thanks for your interest… let me know if you have any other questions.
Hey luckykind,
one more question!
I want to create a html layer popup like the gallery image popup that appears, when you click on the image for preview (http://www.grossemenschen.de/galerie).
This popup should show the user the login and register process. Here you can see an example of my idea: http://www.istockphoto.com/istock_login
Is this possible in your theme ?
Regards,
udii
yes… you need to look into using an iframe, which the colorbox plugin supports
http://colorpowered.com/colorbox/
This is too complicated, I just started a try using the sample page. (http://www.grossemenschen.de/wp-content/themes/grossemenschen/scripts/colorbox/example1/)
Can you maybe help me, I would like to pay your help!
Best regards, Udii
where’s the page for your login/register?
Hey luckykind,
thanks for your reply!
Will use the official wordpress Login page!
Regards, Udi
Hi luckykind,
Awesome theme!
I just need some help on the gallery end. I know that its something that I’m doing wrong. I went through the instructions and video but for some reason the “featured image” function is not working for me. So I just went in and replaced the default image with the image I wanted to use and it worked, but I rather operate under the instructions given (and not rig it). I’m not sure how the gallery works either.
I’m pretty sure that this is simple and you’ll be able to shoot me some quick insight that will solve all my problems. Thanks for your help.

Hey E…
Thanks for your purchase… send me an email through the form on my profile page about exactly what the problem is… (like how it’s not working) then I’ll see if I can’t help you with your problem…
Thx
Hi luckykind,
Lovin’ the theme and got it up and running now at graphicseams.com Just was wondering if there’s a relatively simple way I could get some social buttons up top around the header area to make it easier for someone to subscribe to my feeds or follow me?
Thanks
Nick
Hi nmburt,
Thanks for your purchase… if you’re familiar with coding HTML /CSS, it shouldn’t be to difficult to manipulate the header.php/master.php files and add the links you want inside the navigation section, if that is where you want them.
I recently bought your theme and it doesn’t appear that text is floating properly around images… when looking at wordpress I found this this bit:
img.alignright {float:right; margin:0 0 1em 1em} img.alignleft {float:left; margin:0 1em 1em 0} img.aligncenter {display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto} a img.alignright {float:right; margin:0 0 1em 1em} a img.alignleft {float:left; margin:0 1em 1em 0} a img.aligncenter {display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto}
that seems to be missing from your theme… I could be wrong or doing something wrong of course…
I can also explicitly define “float:left;” but I would prefer it to work that way just by choosing left right or center on the images…
any ideas? thanks!
Hi Sunbear…
Thanks for your purchase…
To float text around an image inside a content area, you should be using a shortcode like this :
[image_border img="path/to/your-image.jpg" pos="left" caption="Your Caption Here" /][image_border img="path/to/your-image.jpg" pos="right" caption="Your Caption Here" /]Details for this are inside the documentation…
If you have any issues with this or questions… feel free to email me through the form on my profile page…
Thanks again
