Hi Ed… our main navigation menu is made up of Product Categories, Products and Pages. In all cases, the link colour on hover is orange (the default). However, while the link colour is also orange if a Page is the active/current page, it reverts to white if a Product Category or Product is the active/current page. I just took a look at your demo and noticed that some of the menu items are orange when a particular page is selected e.g. Shop and others revert to white e.g. Gadgets. I wanted to ask how to set the colour of the main navigation menu links so that they behave in the same way i.e. change colour when selected, so that the user knows what page they are on? Also, is there a way to centre the main navigation menu?

Many thanks! Andrea

Hi there Andrea,

Active link styles are a bit inconsistent in WordPress which is why you’re seeing this behaviour – I’ll take a look at it again soon once things settle down with WooCommerce 2.1 support enquiries :)

Ok, that’s grand Ed, many thanks :)

Hi,

Firstly, sorry for all the questions… We just updated the WooCommerce plugin to Version 2.1.2, which caused the colour of the text to change from black to white? In addition, the WooCommerce ‘System Status’ tab is listing the following files as needing updating, but we don’t know how? Do we need another update from yourself? Best wishes

archive-product.php version – is out of date. The core version is 2.0.0, content-product.php, content-single-product.php, wrapper-end.php version – is out of date. The core version is 1.6.4, wrapper-start.php version – is out of date. The core version is 1.6.4, my-orders.php version – is out of date. The core version is 2.1.0, product-image.php version 2.0.3 is out of date. The core version is 2.0.14, product-thumbnails.php, related.php, short-description.php version – is out of date. Hi there Andrea,

Did you apply the theme update that was released for WooCommerce 2.1? If so, you don’t need to worry about the system status messages – this is a false positive. If you’ve not updated the theme yet you need to do so asap.

Hi there, I’m really liking the icarostore theme :D

I was wondering if you could advise me on some CSS changes I could make in order to move the cart in the top links bar to the header bar. The cart widget appears broken when moved to the header widget slot. So I was attempting to move the HTML of the top-link cart into the header. Unfortunately it does not work. Could you advise?

Thanks!

themesforge

Hi there!

Shoot me an email to ed@themesforge.com mentioning this change and I’ll try and help out where I can :)

Ed

Hi add, we’ve just upgraded to latest Woocommerce and site looks broken. Sorry to be a bit thick but how do I apply the theme update?

Default-user

Sussed it now, needed to activate another theme in order to be able to delete old theme and upload new one.

Default-user

Actually scratch that, redownloaded theme, deleted old one, installed and activated latest download and am still getting archive-product.php version – is out of date. The core version is 2.0.0, content-product.php, content-single-product.php, wrapper-end.php version – is out of date. The core version is 1.6.4, wrapper-start.php version – is out of date. The core version is 1.6.4, add-to-cart.php version – is out of date. The core version is 2.1.0, my-orders.php version – is out of date. The core version is 2.1.0, product-image.php version 2.0.3 is out of date. The core version is 2.0.14, product-thumbnails.php, related.php, short-description.php version – is out of date. The core version is 1.6.4, up-sells.php, single-product.php version – is out of date. The core version is 1.6.4, taxonomy-product_cat.php version – is out of date. The core version is 1.6.4, taxonomy-product_tag.php version – is out of date. The core version is 1.6.4

Hi there,

don’t worry about these warnings – they are false positives – if you’ve updated the theme your site should be working correctly. You can safely dismiss this notice. I’ll be doing another minor theme update to silently dismiss these warnings later this week.

Ed

Hi man. Since I updated WP and the theme, the mobile version seems completely fucked up. It doesn’t load anything but the text, like if there was only some html content, without CSS and images. Would you know why this is happening? Thanks for your help. (PS: I tried on your demo, and it’s working fine on my phone :()

themesforge

Hi there!

Did you update to WooCommerce 2.1?

This was a major update and I released a compatiibility update for the theme last week which you’ll need to re-download and apply to your site. I would suggest doing this on your local server first to test before deploying live.

Best,

Ed

Default-user

Yes I did update to WC 2.1, and yes I also already updated your theme, deleting and replacing the old one by the new one. Everything’s fine on my laptop, but as soon as I go to the site using my phone, things doesn’t load properly. In fact, I also tried to load an old version of the website in local with xampp, withouth WP and the theme updated, and it does the same thing.. :( Here’s a screenshot: http://screenshotr.us/images/84040927.png

themesforge

ok that sounds like a different problem – especially if it was happening pre the 2.1 update. Can you send me a link to your site somewhere on the internet. This is definitely not an issue with the theme but if you can show me your site I’ll see if I can help you pinpoint the problem. Email me to ed@themesforge.com

I have a problem with icaro when i am at the buy page. So when I put an item in the cart, and want to check out… you get the page to put your credentials. At the bottom, you see the items of the cart, the cost for shipping etc. I have a grey screen over that, with the loading icon?

Please help!!

themesforge

Hi Roob,

So what has changed recently? The link you provided refers to conflicts (as I suggested as the most likely cause of your issue).

that? the problem. Nothing changed. Suddenly (I didnt check it for a while) it didnt work anymore. I hoped updating everything would help (wp, woocommerce, theme, plugins) but it didnt.

I emailed you the credentials. Please help! As I really dont know how to resolve this prolbem.

themesforge

Hi Roob,

Something will most definitely have changed – if it was working correctly it wouldn’t stop working unless something in your environment changed. This is why I recommended you setup a separate install from scratch – this is the quickest way to debug this issue. I’ve received your credentials and I’ve checked your site in 3 different browsers (Chrome, Firefox and IE10) and I don’t see the loading issue in any of these browsers.

I strongly recommend you install a separate WP install with a clean copy of WooCommerce and the latest version of the theme and confirm if this works correctly as the quickest route to you uncovering this issue.

Ed

Hi,

We are running WC Version: 2.0.20

Is it safe to update to latest woocommerce version?

Regards

themesforge

Hi Travis,

Thanks for getting in touch!

I released an update for Icarostore last week that provides support for WC 2.1.

I would recommend you download that and apply it to a test version of your site running WC2.1 first before then applying it on live.

yes correct :)

Hi there,

I was wondering if I could change the “More info” on the jcarosel to a functioning “Add to cart” button. Any advice for this would be much appreciated :)

Thanks, Oliver

themesforge

Hi there Oliver,

At the moment the add to cart functionality doesn’t exist for the homepage jcarousels for Icarostore I’m afraid.

Best,

Ed

Default-user

Thanks for the reply Ed,

I’m fairly confident in html, css, js and php. Could you maybe point me in the right direction for changing the “More info” to “add to cart”. Maybe the functions you need to trigger the add to cart process – or something similar?

Thanks, Oliver

themesforge

Just to change the text:

/themes/icarostore/functions/global/widgets/tf-featured-products-jcarousel-icaro.php

approx. line: 120

<?php _e('More Info', 'tfbasedetails'); ?>

and the same change in:

/themes/icarostore/functions/global/widgets/tf-recent-products-jcarousel-icaro.php

To change the behaviour to actually add to the cart is a much bigger change.

Best,

Ed

Hi Ed,

Having the same woo commerce template issues as a few of the guys on here. I’m presuming I just redownload the theme and that will be the updated version? I’ve customised a lot of the css, if I keep my css files will they work with the updated theme?

Thanks!

Helen

themesforge

Hi there Helen,

What I recommend is as follows:

1.) Backup your site! 2.) Make note of any custom changes you made to the theme. 3.) Re-download the theme from themeforest. 4.) Update WooCommerce and the theme on a local backup copy of your site first. 5.) Re-apply your custom changes (if any) 6.) Test and confirm everything is working as you expected. 7.) Repeat the steps above on your live site.

There were no css changes in the latest update but I strongly recommend following the steps above to minimize risk to your live site.

That’s great, thanks Ed

Hi! Been using your theme for awhile and it’s been great. However, it appears that I now need to update due to the release of WooCommerce 2.1 From the above comments, it appears that I will need to remove the current theme and then upload the new version of the theme. Just to clarify the process for me, does this mean that the logo, footers, sidebars etc etc will need to be setup again? If this update will only impact WooCommerce, can you please tell me what I can expect to have to change afterwards? I realize that any custom modifications that I have made to the .css or .php files I would need to reapply, I’m just wondering if there are any other ‘got-yas’ before I proceed. Thanks much!

themesforge

Hi there,

thanks for the kind feedback!

Yes you will need to re-download the theme and re-upload it. You shouldn’t to setup any widgets/theme option values again but if you’ve dropped the logo in the main theme folder that would need to be re-uploaded.

My recommended approach is as follows:

1.) Backup your site! 2.) Make note of any custom changes you made to the theme. 3.) Re-download the theme from themeforest. 4.) Update WooCommerce and the theme on a local backup copy of your site first. 5.) Re-apply your custom changes (if any) 6.) Test and confirm everything is working as you expected. 7.) Repeat the steps above on your live site

That should catch any major issues.

Best,

Ed

Hi, I have tried to install the theme but i receive this error? The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini. Does this mean i haven’t got enough web space? Looking forward to hearing from you THnaks

I think i have 1GB of web space?

Hi there Ed,

Thanks for this great theme and all the awesome support you’ve given to everyone so far!

My website is nearing completion but I have a few more simple questions.

I some custom html/php I need to insert just below the header. Everything is between a div tag so it’s nice and contained but what classes do I need to add to it to make sure it scales down with device size? I notice the id wrap_all scales with size but I can’t seem to find this tag in the code to insert it into.

Thanks for any advice you can give.

- Ollie

themesforge

Hi Ollie,

thanks for the kind words :)

Re: making sure your custom code is responsive, this really depends on the nature of what is in your custom code. The theme uses a modified version of the Skeleton responsive grid which if you study /css/skeleton.css you will discover how the responsive grid works.

I hope this helps,

Ed

Hi,

Can i please have the demo content? I have already uploaded the theme to word press does that matter? Many thanks?

themesforge

Hi Steph,

apologies for the delay – email sent :)

Hi, sorry to bother you, I get this error again when trying to upload the demo xml file Sorry, there has been an error. The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini.

themesforge

Hi,

you’ll need to either change your upload limit size if you self host or else contact your host and ask them to increase your upload limit to 10MB.

Hi,

I am using the TF widget, I have put in the twitter username details but the twitter feeds still don’t seem to be working. Am i meant to do anything else? Thank you in advance

Can you also tell me where it picks up the new products on the from page from?

ignore the second question. Still confused on the twitter section though ? thanks

Hi Stephhind,

I now recommend you use this widget – the theme comes with styles for it:

Hi Ed,

I just updated to WC 2.1 and I am trying to install the newest version of the icaro store theme. It is failing and this is the message I get: “Unpacking the package… Installing the theme… The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet. Theme install failed.”

Please help.

Thank you, Josh

Default-user

You can ignore this one. I figured it out! Thanks

Can you tell me which version of your theme this is? 2.0? I have installed and have updated once, but now WooCommerce wants to update again (2.1.5). I’m thinking I will hold off unless you know the theme is working well with WooCommerce? Thank you very much… enjoying the theme :)

themesforge

Hi there,

The most recent version of the theme (2.1) works perfectly with WooCommerce 2.1.5 :)

Thank you Ed. So sounds like I need to update then eh!? Backup then simply upload the new theme download and activate or is there a better way? Thanks a ton Ed. Great theme.

themesforge

Yes that’s exactly the best way to do it :)

Take care,

Ed

I am trying to get my product-category page to list vertically and not horizontally. Is there a way I can do that or what is the page that has that info?

Thank you, Megan

themesforge

Hi there Megan,

At the moment there’s no in-built way to do this in the theme. You would need to write custom code to do it or integrate this plugin

http://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-grid-list-toggle/

You will still need to write some custom css for this but it should help you.

Best,

Ed

I am getting complaints from the users of the website and I’d like to remove the ‘add to cart’ that occurs when you click on a product. apparently the window is too small and rather than a customer being able to obtain more information about a product the item is being added to their cart and they are getting very frustrated. so, i’d like to remove that option and only have the ability to add to cart when on the product page.

thanks for any assistance you can give.

Default-user

opps should have said remove the “add to cart” that occurs when you hover over a product and attempt to click on the product image.

themesforge

Hi there,

thanks for getting in touch!

This is really a change to how WooCommerce works. There is a thread here in the WooCommerce support forums about a few different ways to do it

Hi! In this showcase page http://www.dimopoulos.gr/n1e2w3/%CE%AD%CF%81%CE%B3%CE%B1/

There is ALWAYS the gap you can see there. When I hit “All” though, it all goes well. Any idea how to fix it?

Thanks!

Default-user

Nevermind, I found out, thanks

themesforge

Hi there, sorry about the delayed response – great that you figured it out in the interim :)

Ed

Hello. Is there a way to make #topbar line up with the body like a full boxed version site? I have played with percentages in CSS but with the topbar being fluid it is often the wrong size – I would like it to line up with the body container. Any few lines of code you could recommend? You can view my problem at sagelovewhatyouwear.com Thank you very much. Nice theme.

themesforge

Hi there!

You can probably admend with something like this:

<div id="topbar" class="container">

adding the container class will instruct the element to fix width.
you will then need to remove the 100% from the topbarr css. (layout.css - line 419)

You'lll prob then need to play with some of the margin values but that should give you a steer :)

Best,

Ed</div>
Default-user

Sorry Ed.. not sure I follow. Do you mean to change the html inside the header.php file? The footer is the same story as well… I would like it to be boxed. I do have simple custom css installed so I can make css edits there btw. Thanks in advance, we are enjoying this site.

themesforge

Hi,

Yes this wold mean changing the html in the header correct.

If you want to change the footer that would also need to be adjusted in a similar way in footer.php

Hope this helps,

Ed
