Hello there, love the theme, helps us tremendously with our charity.

One problem: I can’t get the galleria shortcode to work perfectly on my site. When a portfolio item is loaded, for a moment, all attached images start showing up (they are loading) and only then does the galleria image show up. Also, I can’t get the galleria slideshow to work properly, it only shows the first image of all attached images in the post, I then have to manually click on the slideshow to advance the slideshow. I tried the autoplay=”true” code, but it doesn’t work.

Here’s the website: www.citydogs4streetdogs.com (the problem is in the ‘Sponsor a Dog’ section.

Thank you so much for your help and great theme!

There is no Galleria gallery on the ‘Sponsor a Dog’ page – this page contains a sortable portfolio.

Yeah sorry. In that section, click on an dog. It’s in the single portfolio items where there are galleria codes. Thx.

OK, I can see it.

The Galleria shortcodes have the ‘slideshow’ param – for example:
[galleria slideshow="true"]
If you want to know all available shortcode parameters you can use the Shortcode Generator or take a look into the theme documentation.

About images showing up before the Galleria is loaded. Did you modify the Galleria shortcode, its stylesheet and/or JavaScript code? I can’t reproduce this issue on my test installation.

The slider isn’t sliding. I am using awkward showcase. It always just shows the most recent slide and won’t transition between them. I have made sure all of the slides are in the slideshow I’m using and everything.

I don’t know how did you add this code, so it’s hard to say how to remove it. It’s placed on your home page, so you can probably find it in this page content.

Default-user

I didn’t add any code. I just went into the home page settings in the theme options for this theme and selected the slider I want (awkward showcase) and then I added slides to a slideshow and selected the name of that slideshow in the home page settings in the theme options.

On your home page there is a JavaScript code from the FormStack website (it displays the mailing list subscription form). This code has an error, so it’s breaking all JavaScript scripts on your page (including the slider script).

hi its marc again

is there a way of displaying the nivo slider on the blog page?

Yes, but it requires the template modification. I can help you with that if you like – just send me an e-mail.

Hi, this is by far the best looking theme I have seen and would be perfect for me only it isn’t responsive. will there be an updated version? I really need my site to be mobile device friendly.

I’m glad you like it. Unfortunately we don’t have plans to make a responsive version of this theme.

Hello, I have a problem with the blogpost shortcode on my homepage. I cannot set the desired number of posts number=”1” and also i have duplicate blogpost thumbnails. I’m using WPML and the blogshortcode pulls the same blogpost in another language to display twice. Any help?

That’s strange. Do you have the latest theme version installed? Did you modify theme files? Can you send me your FTP login details and your website URL?

Hi,

I like the theme very much, have bought it a year ago… but running in to a little thing. I’d like to create a guestbook (post) with comments in reversed order: Newer comments on top, Older comments below. Is there a quick way to fix this without a plugin?

(It’s okay if every page/post show the same (new) comment behaviour)

(I tried searching for the php code, to reverse the comments, but no luck)... Thanks in advance!

You can change the comments order in the WordPress settings (Settings -> Discussion -> Comments should be displayed with the older/newer comments at the top of each page).

Hello,

We purchased this theme a few months and the twitter widget was working for quite some time. Unfortunately it stopped updating even though nothing has been changed.

How do we update the twitter widget to update the posts accordingly?

e404

Twitter changed their API (now it requires a full authentication for reading tweets) and display requirements (https://dev.twitter.com/terms/display-requirements), so we decided to abandon our Twitter widgets. We recommend to use official embedded timelines (https://dev.twitter.com/docs/embedded-timelines – you can create your own one here: https://twitter.com/settings/widgets/) or some third party plugin (for example this one: https://wordpress.org/plugins/recent-tweets-widget/, however it’s not consistent with Twitter display guidelines).

Default-user

How do I set it up to match the theme twitter widget? Whats the best way for me to handle this?

e404

Embedded timelines have very little customization options available – you can only adjust the link color and pick one of two available color themes.

If you want to use some third party widget, you can customize it using CSS.

Hello, I wonder how do I change the caption of the Contact button on the top right side of the site. I look forward urgently, thank you!

e404
Edit the ‘functions.php’ file, find the following line:
foreach($social_media as $site) {
and AFTER this line add the following code:
if($site['name'] == 'Contact') $site['name'] = 'Your text here';

Just Perfect :) Thanks.

Help! After the wordpress update my background was changing to a darker color, so I had to deal with the Background Settings. While doing that, I’ve accidentally reset all the settings in the Appearance – Theme Options – Settings (I thought only the active panel would reset). Now All the Ice Theme Options Settings are gone. Could you tell me where ice theme saves these settings, so I know, what part from my backups I have to re-install? Thank you for replying quickly, since this is quite urgent, my whole homepage is a mess right now :(

Default-user

when you scroll down you see that the bottom part shows the striped overlay, but the top of the website does not. The background texture options only work for the bottom part, this was not the case before. thank you for helping out!

Default-user

also, I am having problems installing the plugin slider-pro, it creates a fatal error with the ice theme. I have deactivated all other plugins. But when I try to activate the plugin, the following message appears:

Fatal error: Uncaught exception ‘UnexpectedValueException’ with message ‘RecursiveDirectoryIterator::construct() [-construct”>recursivedirectoryiterator.-construct]: Unable to access /var/www/vhosts/citydogs.ch/httpdocs/wordpress_01/wp-content/plugins//skins/slider’ in /var/www/vhosts/citydogs.ch/httpdocs/wordpress_01/wp-content/plugins/slider-pro/slider-pro.php:3719 Stack trace: #0 /var/www/vhosts/citydogs.ch/httpdocs/wordpress_01/wp-content/plugins/slider-pro/slider-pro.php(3719): RecursiveDirectoryIterator->construct(’/var/www/vhosts…’) #1 /var/www/vhosts/citydogs.ch/httpdocs/wordpress_01/wp-content/plugins/slider-pro/includes/slider-activate.php(106): sliderpro_refresh_skins(Array) #2 /var/www/vhosts/citydogs.ch/httpdocs/wordpress_01/wp-content/plugins/slider-pro/slider-pro.php(107): include(’/var/www/vhosts…’) #3 /var/www/vhosts/citydogs.ch/httpdocs/wordpress_01/wp-content/plugins/slider-pro/slider-pro.php(99): sliderpro_activate_plugin_instance() #4 [internal functio in /var/www/vhosts/citydogs.ch/httpdocs/wordpress_01/wp-content/plugins/slider-pro/slider-pro.php on line 3719

Any idea what the problem might be? Thank you.

e404
The problem with the website background is probably caused by your own theme modifications or the theme configuration. To fix this just add the following code to the Custom CSS box (Theme Options -> Styling Options):
body { background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0) !important; background-image: none !important; }

The problem with installing the plugin is not caused by the theme. Please ask the plugin author for help.

Hmmm, did as suggested, but the problem remains.

Thanks for the plugin advice, will check with the author.

e404

Remove ‘pre’ tags from the pasted code.

Default-user

awesome, that did the trick, thank you very much, great support of a still great theme, even after years of using it!
