Hello, Can you help find where in the css I can change the text size of the portfolio item text, the one that apears inside de squares. I hope you understand what I mean…

thanks,

NP

satoridesign

Hey NP,

first of all, thank you for the purchase!

I’ve checked the theme options and see now that the “Body font size” setting does not affect the portfolio item box test – my apologies for that and thank you very much for pointing this out! I will definitely include the fix into the upcoming theme update. Before that, you can find the CSS line that controls the needed font size on line 510 of the “style.css” file (starts with ”.iso-masonry .post”). Or you can insert this code into the textarea on the “Style: Add Custom CSS” tab of the theme options panel:
.iso-masonry .post { font-size: 20px !important; }
changing the “20” to any number you wish.

Let me know if this fixes the issue!

Sincerely, Andrew / Satori Studio

Hello Satori, Great work on the theme. I am one of your happycustomers. I need your help solving some issues:

1. The logo you displayed on the demo is a portfolio item right? If so, how did you make it link to the same page that it is on ie. the homepage and also, how is it that the project type icon is not displayed on it?

For now that is what I have been struggling with. I have succeeded in displaying my logo as a sticky project. Now, I need it to behave like a logo and not a project.

expecting a speedy response.

Thanks

satoridesign

Hey Pistachio,

first of all, thank you for the purchase!

The green logo on the front page of the demo is a project item with a “link” format – you can choose the post format in the “Format” meta box in the right side of the edit page. I simply gave the project the URL of the front page of the website (you can read more about project and post formats on pages 8-9 of the theme manual). The project type icon is not displayed on link posts by design, mostly because usually link-format items contain text and not a thumbnail; however, I do realize that it is a bit confusing, which is why I will introduce a specialized back-end setting in the upcoming version of Ikebana (1.3) which will allow controlling whether to display or to hide the type icons for specific post/project formats.

Should you have more questions, do not hesitate to contact me!

Hi there!

I really like the portfolio grid layout of your theme, but I would like that type of layout for my blog posts instead of portfolio items. Is this possible with Ikebana? Thanks!

satoridesign

Hey Greeentee,

In principle, there is virtually no difference between a blog post and a portfolio project in Ikebana, and both allow various formats (standard, image, gallery, video, quote, aside, link); the only technical difference in that the posts are displayed in the blog and the projects are displayed by the portfolio page. So in case you want to create a blog with the tiled layout as seen on the front page of the Ikebana demo, you can simply use the portfolio functionality for the blog and call it “blog” ;)

If, however, you want to have a blog with tiled layout and a separate tiled portfolio, then it is currently not possible in Ikebana – I styled the blog and portfolio differently on purpose (in order to enhance usability and avoid confusion for the visitors).

In case I wasn’t clear enough or did not understand the question correctly, please let me know!

Sincerely,
Andrew / Satori Studio

Default-user

Awesome! A couple of follow up questions then: 1. Can the site width (and also sidebar width) be easily changed? 2. Can the post type identifier (on the top right of each tile) be easily removed?

Thanks so much!

satoridesign

Het Greeentee,

to answer your questions:

1). The width of the main content area is rather difficult to manipulate in Ikebana, as it is defined automatically by scripts depending on the width of the portfolio boxes and the margins between them (both of which can be set manually via the Theme Options panel). The width of the sidebar is not changeable via the settings, but it is possible to alter it by inserting a line of CSS code (should you need that, just let me know).

2). Yes, from version 1.3 I’ve introduced a specialized setting following several feature requests from the users: it is now possible to control whether to show or hide the project format identifiers for each individual project format (i.e. standard, video, and image/gallery).

Should you have more questions, do not hesitate to ask!

Andrew / Satori Studio

Hi again, some questions:

1. Deactivating plugins seems impossible, unless you delete them? 2. How do I deactivate the comments form in blog posts (it can be done in projects, apparently…)? Also I would like to use the standard wordpress form or plugins like disqus. 3. Where can I modify the size and colour of the ‘submit comment’ button?

//Alex

satoridesign

Hey Alex,

first of all, thank you for the purchase!

I will answer your questions in the same order:

1). Yes, I’ve made it so that the plugins which are bundled with the theme and are styled and adjusted for usage specifically with Ikebana switch off automatically when you deactivate Ikebana, i.e. activate any other theme. This is the second question of this sort that I get on Ikebana, could you please help me by explaining the reason why you need to deactivate a particular plugin? (I wish the theme to be as user-friendly as possible, so user feedback is very important to me).

2). In WordPress, you can deactivate comments on a blog post by un-ticking the “Allow comments” option in the “Discussion” box below the main content editor area in the post edit mode; in case the box is not displayed by default, you’ll need to open the “Screen Options” tab in the top right corner and tick the “Discussion” item.

3). The color of the “Submit comment” buttons can be changed by the “Button background color” option in the “Style: Content, Widgets” tab of the Theme Options panel. The size of the buttons is not adjustable from the back-end as of now (I decided not to introduce this option to preserve the theme’s style), but you can do it via one line of custom CSS: please add this line to the textarea in the “Style: Add Custom CSS” tab of the Theme Options panel:
#respond input#submit { padding: 8px 13px !important; }
The first px number corresponds to the height, and the second – to the width of the button, you can set them as you like.

Should you have more questions, do not hesitate to contact me!

Andrew / Satori Studio

Ikebana is a very engaging theme – love the metro-inspired look, and you executed it beautifully. I’m also glad to see you already added a few updates from user requests, such as setting unique background colors per page/section.

Question: Would you mind providing me the name of the font you used for the theme demo? If I were to guess…Open Sans, perhaps?

Thanks for your time,

NINkitten

satoridesign

Hey, NINkitten,

Thank you for the kind words!

I used the Open Sans font in the Ikebana demo, the “light” version of it (CSS font weight = 300).

Hello, I have a request for version 1.3.

I love the theme but there is one thing that really bugs me: When you are at the home screen and use the Left side menu to filter out posts/works there is a nice smooth transition and you can see all the little squares arrange themselves – fantastic. However if you click on a post/work to view its page and use click on the Left side menu to navigate to another project the smooth transitions stop happening, the page is forced to completely re-load every time.

I’ll post some images to explain exactly what i mean.

satoridesign

Hey Feto,

thank you for the purchase and great thanks for the feedback – it is always important to me to know what the users think so that I could make my themes as user-friendly as possible.

I’ve spent quite some time on testing and re-testing the behaviour of the portfolio filter, but given the complexity of the interface I can easily believe that it can be improved further :) I do agree that making the portfolio items appear in a transition rather than a page reload after clicking a filter on a portfolio tag page (e.g. from your screenshot – the Experiments tag page. The only problem with the proposed algorithm is this: the framework that I am using for the portfolio grid does not provide separate URLs for filtered portfolio views (note e.g. that the address bar in the browser does not change when you press a filter icon on the front page of the theme demo). This means that when I press e.g. the “Experiments” filter button from an internal page (in your example – from within a project), the system has no URL to bring me to unless it is a tag page (i.e. the current behaviour) – there is simply to way to tell the framework to bring me back to the front page with some particular filter applied. The page reloads when clicking on a filter outside of the front page because each of the filtered results you mention are separate pages which are portfolio tag archives (notice the particular URLs, e.g. http://satoristudio.net/ikebana/tag-portfolio/experiments/).

I will look if the framework can be tweaked to accommodate own URLs for filtered results, but this will take some time. In the meanwhile, there are several things to improve the usability that I can think of, and would really appreciate your opinion on how useful they could be:

1). Removing the smooth filtering effect overall in order not to confuse the users – i.e. pressing the filter icons even on the portfolio page will simply lead the user to another page (a tag page like “Experiments”).

2). Introduce a separate “All” icon that would reset the filter on any tag page and/or lead back to the portfolio page.

What do you think? Maybe you have other ideas how this could be made more usable?

Thank you!

Sincerely,
Andrew / Satori Studio

Feto Purchased

Hi,

Thanks for the detailed reply. I did think that there would not be an easy solution.

The first compromise you propose would not do as the filtering effect is one of the reasons I purchased the theme, as for the second one there is the problem that users would instinctively click on the icon that they were previously on and so the preoblem would still be there untill they happen to click on the “all” icon.

Could there not be a way to implement a “back” button (or simply any single button that I could then point to my home page) that would replace all of the other left side menu icons when viewing a project, that way the users go back the the home page and preserve the filtering effect without it interrupting the UX flow.

let me know what you think.

Regards,

Simon

satoridesign

Hey Simon,

a “back” (or “back to portfolio”) button for individual projects sounds like a viable idea, thanks! I will try to implement it as an option today and get back to you.

Ok, thanks.

One last thing, I can’t seem to be able to find how to get the title “double box” to work. This is a really nice feature and I’d love to know how to get it to work.

Thanks for the great post-sale support by the way :D

satoridesign

Hey Feto,

The rectangular element you are talking about is the portfolio tag identifier which contains the name of the tag and its description (the full list of portfolio tags is available in the “Portfolio -> Tags” admin menu). The box generates automatically on all portfolio tag pages (most importantly, the pages you arrive on when you click a portfolio filter button outside of the portfolio page). For usability and design reasons, the portfolio page itself can only contain square elements.

Massive Apologies if you have answered this elsewhere, Ive tried to do a quick check of the comments and support page.

Is there a way to randomise the portfolio page posts rather than having it based on date created / ascending or descending?

Thanks.

satoridesign

Hey Alex,

first of all, thank you for the purchase!

Introducing a random order to portfolio items is not possible via the back-end at the moment, thus I classify this as theme customization. However, since the necessary changes are quite small, I’ll do it for free: please download this custom file from my repository, unzip it, and upload via ftp into the theme folder (/wp-content/themes/Ikebana). This will randomize the order of the portfolio items each time you load the portfolio page.

Please let me know if the file works as you need!

Ha. Ok one more issue. I have a tag and the posts are loading (they are image posts) but the pictures arent loading up? Tried re-adding etc but no joy.

Default-user

Also i’ve attempted to add a nivo slider to a Standard Post in the Portfolio. I get the error, jCarousel: no attached images, or only one attached image. Ive tried adding them into the post and ive tried adding them to the post then removing them from the content box (but still related to the post) Can you explain how i need to add the photos to get it working as a slider. Thanks.

satoridesign

Hey Alex,

glad the portfolio ordering solution worked!

Regarding your latest questions: 1). Could you please provide the URL of the tag page you mentioned? I need to look at the code. 2). I’ve double-checked the slider shortcode and it works fine (see this example in the theme demo). In order to display the slider, you will need at least two images attached to the post, i.e. uploaded via the “Add Media” button. This is really the only condition for the slider to display :) You can also check that your shortcode has “post” as the “source” attribute. In case none of this helps, I will need to ask you for access to the back-end (you can send the login and password to support@satoristudio.net).

Hi,

Apologies I’ve literally just figured out what i was doing wrong on the portfolio post not showing the image and i got the slider working.

Sorry. It seems that if the images are already held in the media library they dont associate correctly but if you re-upload them they associate fine :)

Thanks for your swift response!

satoridesign

Exactly – I not sure why they did it like that, but in WordPress an image is being associated with (i.e. attached to) a post only if you upload it inside that post.

I have another question!!

The single blog posts when you open them up. It hugs the left hand side of the box? The padding is not working or something. Tried adding in different bits of CSS but nothing seems to be working.

Happens on all post types as far as i can tell.

satoridesign

Could you please provide the URL of the page in question? I need to look at the code. Thanks!

Best,
Andrew / Satori Studio

Default-user

I messaged you the info.

satoridesign

It took me some time to figure it out, but the actual reason is this: the post classes in Ikebana contain the category names for easier customization and greater flexibility, and the category that post belongs to happens to be “blog”; now, there’s a CSS declaration that overrides the default padding for the posts if they are on a blog posts page and sets the padding values to zero – that declaration also uses ”.blog” class, but in this case to identify WordPress blog posts page which received this class by default. I’ve changed the declaration so that it is more specific and does not get distracted by identical category names. Since you provided only the password and no login in your message, I wasn’t able to fix it right on the website, so here’s a fix, please download and unzip it, and upload into the theme folder (/wp-content/themes/Ikebana) replacing the existing file.

Thank you for pointing this out, please let me know if the fix works!

Hi, I’m playing with the theme. How can I create a portfolio page (I have already created projects) and make it a WP site home page? Thanks.

satoridesign

Hey GoodTeaEu,

first of all, thank you for the purchase!

To create a portfolio page, you will need to add a new page (“Pages -> Add New”) and set its template to “Portfolio” in the “Page Attributes” meta box. The front page display settings in WordPress are located in the “Settings -> Reading” admin menu (the “Front page displays” field is what you’re after). More information on portfolio page setup can be found on pages 4-6 of the theme manual.

hi satoridesign,

first of all: great work, amazing theme-design, love it!

I’m new to webdesign, so it might be an easy solution, but how can I change the “find..”appearing in the header search box to a custom text? (I’m from germany, so the text in the search box should also be in german).

thanks in advance

satoridesign

Hey Flipperche,

thank you for the purchase and for the kind words!

Ikebana has a built-in interface for translating theme’s strings – all you need to do is to go to “Localisation -> Edit” admin menu, input “Find..” (without quotes) into the “Old” box, your desired string (e.g. “Suchen”) into the “New” box, and “satori” into the “Domain” box and hit “Save”. You can find more information about this and other built-in theme features on page 12-13 of the theme manual.

Dear Satori Design,

First of all, I wanted to congratulate you on the beautiful template you have created. I am interested in purchasing this template to create my website that will showcase the various products I carry. The way I want to do it that for some I will use the gallery post and others the video post. I also want my clients to be able to reply/leave a comment/contact us through each post. Forgive me as I do not have a technical background and have certain questions before I purchase the template.

1. There are two ways the tabs are aligned- on the top and sideways as widgets. Is there a way I can only use the widgets/icons that appear on the side for my purpose and do away with the top tabs.

2. The gallery post does not have text in it. Is there a way to include text in the gallery post.

3. Some of the post have the roll-over title function. Can this be made available for all posts so the user can always see the title of the post before making clicking on it

4. There are some text boxes and pictures that do not have a hyperlink and serve as placeholders. While I may be keen to use that ideally I want it to be a portfolio for all my products.

5. The green and grey theme- is it a skin or have the pictures been modified

6. There are cases where the boxes show the pictures in black and white however when you enter it- it is a coloured picture. I really like that- is that a function of adding two formats of the same picture or the template itself.

7. Is there an endless scroll function?

Thank you in advance for answering all my questions.

satoridesign

Hey Viaearthlife,

Thank you for expressing interest in my work!

I will answer your questions in the same order:

1). Yes, you can use the left icon menu alone on a website.

2). No, gallery posts is a specialized format for displaying images; however, in principle it is not so difficult to enable text in there. I can help you out with that in case you decide to go forth with the theme.

3). All posts except the gallery format can have captions; the gallery format does not have them for aesthetical and usability reasons (they would block the controls then).

4). Certainly, you can have all boxes link to specific project pages – the demo is there to showcase all possible variations ;)

5). You can upload any images into an Ikebana based website; the colours can also be changed for each individual layout element through the Theme Options panel without the need to touch the code.

6). Black and white images were added for aesthetic reasons :) The portfolio boxes show thumbnails (which in that case are black and white), while the projects themselves display full-color images which were uploaded inside the project content.

7). So far Ikebana has no endless scroll option, but I am considering adding it in the next theme update (version 1.4).

Should you have more questions or in case I was unclear at any point, do not hesitate to contact me!

Sincerely,
Andrew / Satori Studio

Hello again,

First off I love your theme, and I want to use it for my project, but I’m afraid its not flexible enough for what I want, or (most likely) Im not setting it up correctly.

I imported your dummy content, so I have already a user with your name, do you need a password? I Can send you by private message for you to login? I think its better for you to understand…

I already read your documentation and be at the forum but I cant understand what’s going wrong.

The website Its almost as I would want it but theres some details that makes it not working as I want.

I’m gonna try to explain my problems:

- The home page is the portfolio, so every “portfolio item” appears in the home page, is there a way to only appear the projects with a specific tag (home for example?) in the homepage? Do you understand, I would like to, when someone opens the website only appears the projects with the home tag, and then when navigating throe the left menu specific projects with that tag apear.

- The icon/tag menu (on the left) is working fine, but only if you navigate from the homepage, if I go to a page, and then click int the left menu it doesn’t work… I can see that in the browser it appear ”/tag-portfolio/” but I cant understand from where that appears…

- I read in some comment, that you said that the description of the tag appears in the “double square” I would love that to happen, but it doesn’t, I don’t know why…

I hope you understand my doubts, because I really wanna use your theme.

Thanks in advanced…

satoridesign

Hey NP,

first of all, thank you for the purchase!

I will answer your questions in the same order:

1). Pages with “Portfolio” template will always display all project items; in order to display only items with a certain tag, you can set the URL of that tag to be the front page in the “Settings -> Reading” admin menu. The portfolio tag archive page URL is constructed as follows: www.example.com/tag-portfolio/name, where “name” in the name of the tag (“Portfolio -> Tags”).

2). In order for the icon menu links to function properly, one of the two fields: either “Link URL” or the “Filter” should be filled in for each icon menu item in the “Icon Menu” tab of the Theme Options panel. Please check if this is true on your website; my apologies if this was not explained clearly enough in the theme manual, I will definitely add this information to the document.

3). The image that is currently set on the URL http://www.aplicapasso.com/ contains exactly that double-width box (with words starting with “Este site”) with portfolio tag information (which hints that that is a screenshot of a portfolio tag archive page, see point number 1 above). The double-width tag appears on every portfolio tag page automatically, you can check out those in the theme demo by clicking on any icon menu item while OUTSIDE of the portfolio page (i.e. from any other page).

Should you have more questions or in case I wasn’t clear enough, please do not hesitate to contact me!

Hello Andrew, first off thank you very much for the fast answer. I can see that you take this very serious and professionaly.

I have to apologize because I can see that you are trying to help, but in fact, I’m all the same with your answers…

Im gonna try to explain in the same order: 1) I understand all that you’re saying but when I go to “Settings -> Reading” I only can choose the page that is going to be the homepage. Where can I set the pacific URL ?? Im sorry but I can’t find it.

Maybe is because of my permalinks? I’m working with the “name of the article” option…

2) You explain it very well in the documentation. I’m filing the “Filter” with the tag of each of the categories in the theme potions admin. So is working when Im inside the portfolio, but when I’m in a page it doesn’t work. Again, I understand that is because of the missing “tag-portfolio” but I canĀ“t understand where to put it…

3) About the url, is in fact an image I made in photoshop just to use in a “under construction” plugin. What you see is not the real website. And yes, thats the double box that I want, but in the real site it doesn’t work. I already put the description in all the tags, but still… doesn’t show.

Im sorry for the inconvenient but can help me again? Maybe login in the real website and take a look? I can fell that I’m really close:), but something is wrong… I can send you a password by mail…

Hope to hear from you,

Thank you very much again

Cheers,

NP

satoridesign

Hey NP,

let me go over the issues:

1). You’re right, I forgot that the WordPress interface only allows choosing a specific page for the front page. Adding a separate page for that will be quite cumbersome, so let’s try something else first: if you want a 2×1 tile in your portfolio, you can order it to be stretched via CSS: please add the following code on the “Style: Add Custom CSS” tab of the Theme Options panel:
.portfolio-item #post-1 { width: 528px !important; }
substituting the “1” for the project ID you need. You can find the project ID from the URL when in the editor mode for that project – the figure after “post=” in the address bar of your browser is the desired ID.

2). As I mentioned above, the icon menu items act as filters based on portfolio tags ONLY on the portfolio page; on all other pages they simply link to the portfolio tag archive pages (which have the “tag-portfolio” in their URL and are generated automatically based on the “taxonomy-tagportfolio.php” template in the theme root folder). In order for the links on icon menu items to function properly, you need to have the relevant portfolio tag name filled in in the “Filter” field of the needed icon menu item in the “Icon Menu” tab of the Theme Options panel – please see the screenshot and accompanying text on page 4 of the theme manual. Note that the name of the tag you input into the “Filter” field should be exactly the name of the tag as seen on the “Portfolio -> Tags” admin page.

Please let me know if this helps more, and whether there are still any unresolved questions on your side!

Sincerely,
Andrew / Satori Studio

Mister Andrew,

I have to say that you must be a very nice and a patient guy, but I’m starting to think that this is not going to work, maybe Im trying to do something that is to complex for the theme, I don’t know, I just loved the graphic style of it.

Your theme is really beautiful, but becoming obvious with a lot of work /updates to do to it. My problem is that I’m getting out of time (I said to my client that the website was going to be online this week, and at this point Im starting to think to look for new themes… ) And the other problem is that my client already saw some snapshots of the website and he is in love with it… so now changing everything, is gonna be a pain…

So, lets try another time to resolve my issues, and some new ones i found to (I’m sorry man, but this is work), by a new order.

1) homepage – What I want is to have that “squares” look but, if possible, not with all the portfolio items on. I wanted to show just projects with the “home” tag. and then when clicking on the other tags (filters) show the other ones. Can’t you “force” the homepage to open with a specific tag, if you work directly on the code? I’m not a programmer so I don’t have the skills to do it, but if you can, it would be great…

I understand that this is not possible with your theme in a direct way, and its fair for you to say that, but if you can help it would be great… I worked with other themes that you can build different portfolio pages which with their own tag. So you just do a page with the tag “home” assigned and put it as homepage. Well, I thougt that was the case, but is not, my bad… But maybe you could consider doing it in other updates…

2) 2×1 tile in your portfolio I did what you said in the “Style: Add Custom CSS” tab of the Theme Options panel” and nothing happened… but well that not a big problem, Actually I saw in your “live preview” that the description of the the tag only appears if you are in a page and click in a “filter” button, if you’re navigating inside the portfolio it doesn’t appear… So its better to not appear at all… PROBLEM SOLVED about the double box…

3) ICON menu Man, I understand that you have to fill in the menu tag inside the admin, And already did it, as already told you, thats why its working when I’m inside the portfolio, I think. But, again, when Im in a page it doesn’t work… I cant understand when you talk about the “taxonomy-tagportfolio.php” and stuff… I read all the manual, thats why I did it like that. The problem is when I’m on a page and click on a icon. I already tryed to do it all in the icon menu, (without the pages menu), but that way everything is going to show in the home page, so is worst that way…

So I saw your option “Show icons only on portfolio pages” its not what I wanted, but, at this point it does the work… but When I tried it in a phone, they are still there and… don’t work.

Im sorry man, I just don’t know what to do anymore, or else I do it, I just wanna resolve this a soon as I can… My bad for poor choice of theme, I was “enchanted” by the look of it, but you would a great guy if you could help me… :)

Are you sure you don’t want to login to the admin to take a look? I don’t mind, and maybe it would be faster for all…

Hope to ear from you with good news… :)

Regards,

NP

Hey NP,

regarding point 1). i.e. showing only specific tag items on the portfolio page: your question has given me some ideas which led to a slight simplification of the portfolio template file; I’ve not yet implemented the option to leave only items belonging to a single tag as an admin back-end option (this takes some time), but with the new portfolio template we can already do it – via the code. Please download and unzip this file, and upload into the theme folder. This should leave only the projects tagged “home” on your portfolio page.

About point 3). i.e. the icon menu issue: I’m not sure I am able to explain it in another way, but I’ll try on a particular example: let’s say you have a portfolio tag named “home” and it is visible in the tag list on the “Portfolio -> Tags” admin menu. The system automatically generates a new archive page for each tag you have, which has a URL of e.g. “www.exampe.com/tag-portfolio/home” in the case of the “home” tag. This page only displays the projects which have the tag “home” attributed to them.

If you then go to the “Icon Menu” tab of the Theme Options panel, and write “home” (without quotes) into the “Filter” field of an icon item (see the highlighted area on the screenshot on page 4 of the theme manual) – and save the changes – the system will automatically add a link to the tag archive page (www.exampe.com/tag-portfolio/home, which already exists) to that icon menu item, but this link will function only when you click on the icon item outside of the portfolio page, i.e. on any other page/post/project. On the portfolio page, the icon item in question will act like a filter for the same tag, hiding all projects which do not have the tag attributed to them.

In case this does not help still, please provide your admin credentials by sending them to support@satoristudio.net (no disclosure guaranteed) and I will look at the back-end to make sure everything functions properly.

Thank you for your patience!

Sincerely,
Andrew / Satori Studio

Hey NP,

I confirm that I’ve received your email; you were right, there’s something fishy with the icon menu links. I’m currently looking into the issue, will get back to you as soon as I solve the problem!

Hey NP,

I’ve gotten to the root of the problem! It was indeed my fault, a confusion between the names and the slugs of portfolio tags – since the theme demo has identical tag names and slugs, it was not surfacing during the development. With the current code the icon links can also work, provided that you make identical names and slugs for all tags – but I think this is an unreasonable limitation which may affect both usability and SEO.

I’ve modified your files so that the tag archive page URLs match the icon menu generated URLs: in the “Filter” field of the icon menu tags in the Theme Options panel, one will now need to input the slug of the tag and not its name (I’ve changed all the values for you). Please look at your website, the icon menu links seem to be working as intended now.

I sincerely apologize for the error, and for taking so long to understand you requests (I should’ve asked for admin access right away :) And -thank you for pointing out the issue, I will definitely include the fix and additional information into the upcoming theme update!

Best,
Andrew / Satori Studuo

hello, i am considering buying this theme, but i’d need to use it in a certain way and i am not sure that will work:

i’d basically need to have 3 pages which all contain a masonry list of tiles (as on your demo home page), BUT i’d need the vertical icon navigation on the left to be different on each of these 3 pages (as each page would contain different files (i guess in different categories).

would that be possible?

also please let me know if your theme would be fully functional with qTranslate for a multi language page!

Thank you so much – i really hope i can use this theme! :)

Hey Steve,

thank you for expressing interest in Ikebana!

I will answer your questions in the same order:

1). Ikebana has a portfolio page template which displays all project items (and can be set as a homepage), and portfolio tag archive pages, which are generated automatically and contain only the projects with a particular tag. The icon navigation menu is single for all pages in Ikebana, but technically it is quite possible to hide/show particular icon menu items on particular pages (by adding simple CSS in the form of:
.term-XX .icons-item-YY
where “XX” is the tag ID and the “YY” is the number of the icon menu item.

2). The theme hasn’t been tested with qTranslate in particular, but it is fully localization-ready, and all text strings in the code are wrapped in corresponding tags (“e()” and “_()”).

3). It is possible to show/hide the project format icons on a format basis, i.e. for example display only image format icons, or not display any at all. This option is activated by simple checkboxes from the Theme Options panel.

Should you have more questions, do not hesitate to ask!

Sincerely,
Andrew / Satori Studio

Hey Chris,

first of all, thank you for the purchase!

You can set the number of portfolio items per page in the “Portfolio items per page” field in the “Portfolio Page” tab of the Theme Options panel. Please let me know if this does what you needed, or if I misunderstood your request.

Hi Andrew,

it’s me again. Is it possible to change the hover-color on the “back-to-top” icon?

Thanks in advance!

satoridesign

Hey Flipperche,

the “back-to-top” icon is a sprite image that can be customized by uploading your own version into the “Scroll to top button” field on the “Page Elements” tab of the Theme Options panel. You can find the original image in the “images” folder inside the theme directory (or here’s a direct link from the demo).

satoridesign

Hey Martin,

In order to create a blog posts page, you should declare the respective page in the “Settings -> Reading” admin menu, the “Posts Page” drop-down. I’ve done it for you, please check out the result.
