Discussion on Ikebana - Masonry WordPress Portfolio Theme

142 comments found

Dear Andrew,

I am getting acquainted with the Ikebana theme I purchased today. Setting up my intended website, I stumbled across some default settings that are puzzling to me, when comparing with the theme preview.

When applying the heading style 1 or 2 on a page they are standardly displayed in red and centered on the page. The default heading color (#DDDDDD) according to the theme settings is only applied when entering it manually. The heading however is also aligned to the center of the page instead of to the left. I tried to solve it by the following: [heading style=”2” align=”left”] Contact [/heading]

However it does not display accordingly: http://www.paulbrouns.com/contact/

Please tell me how to solve this. Kind regards / enjoy the weekend,

Paul

Thank you, perfectly clear. The only problem I have with that is that I would prefer not to have the Home page starting with such a heading. How to deal with that?

Hey Paul,

to disable the title on just the front page, you can add this custom CSS into the “Style: Add Custom CSS” tab of the Theme Options panel:

.home .page-heading h1 { display: none; }

Another thing happened ever since installing the required plugins for the theme. Whenever I update a page I get the following error messages on a blank page:

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /public/sites/www.paulbrouns.com/wp-content/plugins/twitter-widget/twitter-widget.php:246) in /public/sites/www.paulbrouns.com/wp-admin/post.php on line 233

I thought something may have gone wrong with the installation, so I just started from scratch. I deleted the entire installation and the database. I only installed the latest version of Wordpress, created the pages, installed Ikibana. After that I got a request to install the recommended plugins for your theme. I installed all of them and the result was again a blank page with the warnings mentioned. Does this mean that some of the plugins are not compatible with the new version of Wordpress?

How to solve this? Kind regards,

Paul

Hey Paul,

I cannot seem to be able to reproduce this error on my install of Ikebana; would you be able to provide access to your WP back-end and associated FTP account? You can send the information to support@satoristudio.net (no disclosure guaranteed).

Hey Paul,

I’ve replied to your email, but decided to give the information here as well in case future users stumble upon the same issue. The cause of the problem was in an extra empty line after the closing php bracket in the Twitter Widget plugin’s main file. I’ve fixed the code, now it should work without producing error messages. Here’s the updated plugin file just in case, I will also include the fix into the next version of Ikebana (3.3).

Sincerely,
Andrii / Satori Studio
