My question has to do with the BigBox ad. My ad comes up aligned improperly in IE8 . It looks fine in firefox.

Hi matt, can you help me with this one. I’ve asked someone to design the header for me with 960×400 size. Then, I’d tried to replaced the original header but only half of the new header showed. I’ve tried to edit the header script but I can’t find it anywhere. Can you tell me where should I edit to enlarge the header size?
The Right Sidebar – we put in a new widget and the heading needs to have an apostrophe (Today’s Events). Except that adds a / automatically, which then shows up on the frontend, like this – Today/’s Events. How do we get rid of this?

hi matt, first of all congratulations on your designs, really expectaculares, in my blog the imperial and my problem is that the lghtbox get it to work in any of its variants, I have tried other designs and not get that problem and I would not change the theme. http://www.llumgrafia.es I disabled the articles but one for testing and not know what else to do, if you can help me grateful and happy Christmas to everyone

Ive purchased this item but there are a few things i need help with as i cant seem to find how to do it when using this theme.
1. on the preview page of this theme, it has the 3 main news stories in a 3 tier type box at the top of the page on the right hand side and a bigger style box for the pic on the left. How do you activate this? as when i post, it just puts the post as a normal style post.
2. is it possible to disable post comments for all posts rather than selecting it for each post?

My web admin purchased this theme and I had a chance to go though al the options…I must say, I love it. I am looking to purchase this for my personal website.
With that said, I have a few questions & concerns:
I will be using this theme to run a Wordpress MU blog.
1. When adding a post image, feature image, etc. i noticed you can not put an external image link or any other image link (even if uploaded via library). If you do the image will not show up and just make an all white image. Is it possible to change this path & allow other image URLs or even any other folder not “uploads”.
2. Is it possible to remove the “dark” theme and just leave the “light” theme so when bloggers activate the blog they only have the option to choose the “light” theme.
3. Since I will have multiple bloggers on my website with WPMU … Only the main site need the JCarousel…which means I would want to edit out the JCarousel and maybe the 2nd collum, leaving everything else as is. I am aware I would probably need to duplicate the current theme, rename and do the edits to the theme file. If you can advise that would be great.

1. This is a restriction of the TimThumb image resizing script. Images have to be on the same domain in order for it to work. However, they don’t have to be stored in the /wp-content/uploads directory. To get around this, you could either replace TimThumb with something beefier, like AutoThumb (WP plugin also based on phpThumb) or disable image resizing. The latter is easier, but produces sucky results.
2. You would have to edit functions.php and remove the style switcher section.
3. Everything is stored in the index.php template and wrapped in conditional statements. What you would need to do, is create a home.php based on index.php and pull the is_home section out and dump it in there. Then remove that section from the index.php template.
ThemeForest requires that you buy an extended license for use with WPMU . If you were to do that, I could help you out with this stuff.
Hi Matt! I’ve purchased your Imperial Theme on Themeforest and would like know if some tweaking on the theme if it’s possible.
It’s mainly on the advertising platform, I want to assign different banner ads to different sections of the site, and how do I automatically rotate banner ads on the website? For example, I have 5 clients that have bought me the Skyscrapper spot, how do I rotate them appearing randomly? Can I achieve this via adserver like OpenX? Or maybe a plug in?

Using a third party platform like OpenX is very easy – all you have to do is dump the code snippet they provide into the appropriate box in the Theme Settings panel. It’s rendered out as straight HTML , so that’ll work just fine.
There are other WP plugins that could also work, although I haven’t tested any. I typically use AdRotate, which allows you to use a template tag to pull a specific ad group into a template. In theory, this should produce the same results to that I mentioned above. But again, I haven’t tested it myself. Worst case scenario, you would have to edit the templates and replace the custom ad calls with the AdRotate tags, which is trivial if you have basic knowledge.

Regarding the “Post image path”, I have tried to submit a image that is located on the same domain & uploaded via the media uploader function. that path is http://musiciansentourage.com/newmu/files/2010/02/d_bob_front-2-300-450×450.jpg
I placed the image URL in “Post image Path” section, both the full URL (as seen above) and a short URL to match ur example described in the post editor (/files/2010/02/d_bob_front-2-300-450×450.jpg).
This still seems to be giving me a grey box & not the image. I have tried this with the image resizer on & off. Please advise.
Also, Is there a way to have a static 3 post on the JCourasel? Rather than posting the newest post on the slider is it possible to have a set 3 always in place.

I followed the directions for installing FlickrRSS.
I have no luck displaying FlickrRSS in the header but it works perfectly when I activate the widget on the Sidebars.
Any suggestions for getting it to work in the header?

Hah, this is the result of a copy and paste mistake. That’s from the Varnish documentation, and I clearly missed it. Sorry about that. I’ll make sure it gets updated in the next version of the theme. Flickr images are only supported in widgets which can be used in the sidebars of Imperial.

Regarding the ads not lining up – the CSS requires the buttons to be linked. Toss a link around each of your images and they’ll line up properly. I will address this in the next update to the theme, so static images and other such ad units can be used in this space.
