Hmm, if that doesn’t work then the easiest thing to do would be to move to slider like nivo Slide-link custom field should work but perhaps not all sliders work with it. Otherwise you may investigate coin slider’s file and check if it works with the_permalink() function or if it takes value from custom field. Please email me WP login/password if you’d like me to check that.

You may try adding display: none; to #slider or ”#slider a” or ”#slider a img” in style.css This will make everything invisible unless some script changes that to display: block; (in this case Nivo slider script will do that).
