I can’t for the life of me figure out how to change the size of the thumbnails on the portfolio page. I can change everything via css except for the thumbnail itself. Suggestions?
Hey there,
You’ll also need to change the thumbnail sizes WordPress creates when you upload the image. These are in functions.php. You’ll need to regenerate your thumbnails when you do this to resize your current images to the new sizes.
Thanks
Hello Chris!
I need to filter the portfolio category. I created a new template called TEMPLATE -CURRENT.PHP to show only one category Portofolio named ISSUE . I wrote a similiar code than you wrote in TEMPLATE -PORTFOLIO but is not working.
Do you think that is possible? Any ideas?
I am trying to show only this one, but I am not being able to write the certain PHP .
Thank you very much for your work and help,
Hey there,
Unfortunately I can’t help with theme customizations. I recommend you look into hiring a freelancer to help you.
Thanks
Hello ChrisMooney,
I’m having issues with the captions not being styled properly on the theme I purchased (Impromptu). Since the Wordpress update to the latest version I have done some research and found out that many people are struggling with this issue regarding captions being styled properly. Who’s responsibility is it to fix this issue for captions to style properly with your theme. I really need to get this resolved as it is preventing my client from achieving their business goals because of this caption not working right. Please advise me on how to proceed. I’ve messed with my css for weeks and nothing is happening. Please help.
Hey there,
If you could email me via my profile (http://themeforest.net/user/ChrisMooney) with a screenshot of the issue I could take a look and see what I can do for you.
Thanks
Hey firstly GREAT theme, well done. I’m having a few issues though. If you look at my site www.chris-shaw.co.uk my page title is appearing in giant text at the top of the home page. Obviously for SEO purpose it’s vital that it appears only on the page title. Also how do I get the grey text to appear under the menu? It’s a sweet little touch.
Hey there,
It looks like you haven’t uploaded a logo yet. Upload one and you issue should be resolved.
Thanks
Hi thanks for that, it worked a treat. I still have 3 issues though.
1. How do I put the grey text under the menu items? 2. I embed my videos but no matter how I change the embed size they always have the black bars. Is this due to Vimeo or the theme? 3. When you click on an item in the portfolio you are able to click on the image on that portfolio page as the image is a link, which isnt great for a professional site.
Any help would be great thanks
1. In WordPress > Menus click “Screen Options” in the top right corner of the screen. Make sure the checkbox for descriptions is selected. Once this is done you’ll be able to add a small description to each menu item.
2. Modify the height of the embed. If you’re getting black bars the height is too much.
3. I don’t understand the issue with this, could you elaborate?
Thanks
Thanks for your reply
Basically if you go to here: http://chris-shaw.co.uk/portfolio/kutchenarte-logo-design-branding
Is there a way to disable it so you aren’t able to click on the image and get taken to page with just the image?
Lastly where do I change it so it can say on the homepage “my latest work” instead of “our latest work”. Im so tired and am struggling to find it
Thanks
Hey there,
Thanks for the clarification. You’ll need to edit the single-st_portfolio.php template and modify the code after the “entry-thumb” class to remove the link.
You can change this using the translation files or a quick edit of the template-home.php template.
Thanks
Nice looking theme. I was wondering if it is possible to have 2 distinct portfolios that are completely separate? I was hoping to have Graphic Design (with 4 sub-categories) and Illustration (with 4 sub-categories)?
Also, is there a way to remove the blog completely from the home page? Thanks for your time.
Hey there,
Unfortunately it’s not possible with this theme, sorry about that.
Thanks
Could the second row ‘Latest From The Blog’ be replaced with another portfolio row?
Hey there,
It could, you’d need to edit the template-home.php template to do it.
Thanks
