Hi,

Have you followed the instruction doc that came with the theme to ensure that all pages were created and that they have the correct template.

Also there is a requirement to have the custom permalink defined.

Please let me know if there are any issues after going through the install doc.

Out of the box these are not present. But with some slight mod you will be able to do most of these.

Just a note: All new registrations get set as authors. this allows them to post.

1. So Authors and Admins will be able to post. As for setting them as Subscriber to ONLY answer questions on and not ask is a bit more work since you are adding another if clause. You could set the default to subscriber but i dont know if there are going to be limitations to that. And then you would need to do some manual work to map the users to become authors (this could be easy if this user base is small and not changing).

2. Again if you have only a few users with author role then you can do a larger if clause that would display different post categories for that user.

All in all it is possible (not out of the box, you would need to do some modifications, not supported but the normal theme support).

Hi,

Out of the box this is functioning as designed. You will need to modify the theme to do this type of request.

Here is an overview: - Change the posting function to set them as pending posts - Message to user that their post is not going to go live until reviewed in the UI somewhere. - Update several places in the code to check for user type.

This is all doable but is not part of the standard support for this theme.

The search is more around keyword based searching. Most people will ask the full question when they do a post but search like they do on google and do keywords.

This is because in the global CSS reset borders on table elements are set to none. This applies to the table, tr, td elements.

If you are looking to add them back in you need to define them with a class, id or inline style on the table.

E.g.

As of right now this theme only has manual update for Languages. It is pretty straight forward and wont take that much time to do. Just have to edit the pages and adjust the text as needed.

You need to leave the copyright info since you bought a license and not the with an extended license (extended license is not currently for sale). Also please keep in mind that there are limitations on how much you manipulate the theme. You can’t just take the theme and re-do the whole thing to suit your needs.

You can go in an modify the css to make it your own. Needs to be like 80% the same as you bought it so you dont break the theme license. And the biggest thing is not to take the theme and create a new theme from it. This would completely break the rules.

Thank you very much for information! Okay, so basically, am I able to completely redesign it? I mean, not css, but design (images e.c., colors e.c.)? All element names, and lot of code will stay the same, I will just redesign the design (look). Also probably I will add few other .php features, which isn’t included in theme, like achievements, choose best answer e.c. Is that available, or is that also against license?

About the redesign stuff, that’s pretty dumb, since this is the first them I find out that, I’m not able to add my own design to it. That’s pretty dumb, I’m a little bit disappointed. Thanks anyway!

Thanks for the questions.

1. This theme has a text only tag stripping function when you post something but if you were to turn off this part of the post function then it would allow you to post pretty much anything that way. As for smileys it should work.

2. Along the response for post 1, If you were to disable this stripping of tags part to the posting of new questions and answers then you could allow people to place img and embed tags which would allow them to post them. Not upload theme.

The only concerns that i have with the second one is that if you let everyone post anything into the box to allow for pics and videos, it will open up a problem where someone enters malicious code (js etc), or an empty html tag that will break the site’s structure. This is why i have just plain text as the way it posts out of the box. It is safe and you dont have to worry about breaking your site…

Yes there are ways that you could get exactly what you are looking for but are not part of this theme and the support that comes with the theme.

Hi,

The theme is in English but you can easily change it to suit your language but changing the text. It is a small task to do and a lot of sites that use this theme are in different languages.

Yes these are all possible.

- Language change is easy as finding the english words throughout the theme pages and translating them over.

- You can use this as a sub directory. This is how i do this on the theme demo at http://wordpressqa.com/instant-qa/

You could create a sub-directory to place this instance. This would allow you to keep the posts separate and in a new db and have categories etc.

As for theming to look like you site you will be restricted to the layout but feel free to change the colors to pair better with the other part of the site.

Hi,

This is due to the fact that you are uploading the zip file that you downloaded from TF. You need to make sure that you are using the Theme only folder which will be found in the Theme only folder in the main zip, it is called instant-qa.

Also make sure that you read the instruction manual that came with the theme to ensure that you have all the correct settings that are required.

Hi,

1. You can add this to the template pages. You might just use a new ad tag since it would be a bit of coding to get it to working with the admin boxes.

2. Same here, just ad the ad tag to the part of the page you want it to show up on. In this case this is single.php

3. I would try to create a widget that could handle this for you. You might look for a plugin solution. It may require some coding to get it the way you want but the theme is plugin-ready for sidebar widgets to show up.

Thanks for your question. This has come up with a few people in the past and they used a tree toggle menu idea for the categories. If you go back through the comments here (about 1.5 years ago or so) you will find a conversation about this.

To make the suggested changes would change a lot of the code and the theme layout and is out of the standard support for this theme. You can add the header item like you talked about on your own if you please.

This theme needs to associate the questions with a user so the users need to be signed up to post a question so they can be assigned to them. Otherwise it would be hard to associate to a user to store in the db. It is different from when you see a site that has comments that are open to the public since all you need to know is an email for those.

So sorry to say that this is not possible.
