Thanks for sending this post. Judging from that error, I think you might not have uploaded the correct folder to your ftp. The theme download consists of the theme itself, but also some other things like psd images. From the downloaded folder, you’ll want to grab only the theme and upload that.

My image posts as featured image won’t allow a thumbnail to be generated for the brick gallery. I have submitted a ticket and received a very vague response regarding this issue. I have tried everything, setting file permissions etc. I need help, please. I know I am not the only one who has faced this issue. If anyone else has figured it out please respond?

Did you also tried to install dummy content? Then you have examples of the most important pages. Dummy content: Dashboard admin / Appearance, James / General. Down at the General page you can place ‘Dummy conten in order to see how it works.

Hi,

I don’t know why I can’t run the .M4V format as video background… I want my video to work on ipad, iphone,....ect. I only get .F4V to work on the PC, but this format doesn’t work on the iphones, ipads…

I tested .MP4 and .MOV and they don’t work also!!!! Any idea, if the James 1.4 will not run these type of video files?! I want your guidance right here on how to do it pleaze? May be I missed something!

Hi Chaker,

We have updated James a few months ago and added a New HTML5 Player. A fail back to the current flash player is included for browsers that don’t support HTML5 .

Its extremely easy to use, setup in less than 3 minutes, the javascript file is only 16KB. It has capabilities to load and display videos in a floating lightbox. The player can be included multiple times on the same page. There is support for autoplay and loop. Double-click video to enter full-window mode. The volume will be saved with local storage or cookies.

At the example of James the Preview images at the home page: (these ’’posts’’ are set to: category black&white and as ‘bricks’) If you want posts incl. featured images to go directly to your blog you’‘ll have to define an other ‘category’ for these posts.

I purchased this theme. I know it is not advertised as a responsive theme but when using the brick format we were not able to pull up blog entries using the bottom corner, it just brought up images. Also if you cleared the cache on the iPad and used the site over 3G the pop up menus were not coming up and then they would appear for a while and then disappear again. They seemed to be more consistent over wi-fi, not sure why that would be. Otherwise a a very nice theme. If those things were fixed would definitely consider using it. But can’t at this point.

Before you purchase make sure with your host that they support the resizing script this theme uses. Mine doesn’t (I have never had an issue with any other theme) and therefore it simply doesn’t work! I put in a support ticket and they couldn’t help, so just be wary before you spend $45 on a theme that may not work!

It seems like such a nice theme too, so I am sad : (

Can you let me now witch hosting provider you are using, because I can’t believe a server is not supporting the resize script as it’s a common one. But maybe this one is the first, please let me now so I can check this out.

Hi Themedutch. I discovered that your site is down for some makeover, so.. I solved my situation. i just removed all “” from index.php. And now my bricks are not longer linking to single post! =)

BE AWARE if someone else may use this solution. Im not a PHP -guru, so it maybe the wrong way, but it does the job.

We’re arrived at the final phase of the major update (video). The code of James is improved, as well as the codes for shortcodes. There are more shortcodes available now. If you’ve used shortcodes, then you’ll have to adjust them. This is unfortunately unavoidable. The appearance of James will not change. However, the appearance of the James admin panel has changed (for the better). James is now also ready for Woocommerce (besides eShop). We’ll upload the theme as soon as possible.
