Great work on the theme
Pixel-perfect detailing doesn’t seem to be very common here so kudos on that. Good luck on sales!
Hey,
Thank you, I appreciate it.
Cheers!
hello Gina Very good work indeed, gongrats!. I follow your works here in themeforest because you are a Greek also and talented one
I am not a developer just a customer.
Regards
Takis
Hi there,
Thank you
Cheers!
the characters are fixed
Is there an option to have the blog layout with all posts displayed as the first?
And are there any colour variations/chooser within the admin?
Hi there and thank you for your interest.
You can set the blog page as the front page. Currently this is the only color, but I’m working on adding new colors soon.
Cheers!
Thanks for the quick reply. Thats good to know about colour schemes.
I don’t think I explained my first question very well. Basically is there a simple way to make each blog post display like the first?
Current layout: http://cl.ly/DRfX/notthis.png But want it like this: http://cl.ly/4119450L1J2Y2m1o2E1e/this1.pngOh, I see now. Not by default, it requires a little bit of change in the code.
Cheers!
Love it will buy it next week!!!!
Nice work! Absolutely love it! You will do well with this. Best wishes.
Hey,
Thank you!
Cheers.
Very nice theme! Will use it for a project soon.
One thing, the images, especially for blog images, are double loading. There is a load and then a quick reload. Perhaps you can check that out?
Good luck with the theme from yet another Greek!
Tom
Hey,
Thank you. I’m glad you like it. I’ll check that out.
Cheers!
Just wondering how I can show tags and categories under the date and author in single.php?
Also, how to have Related Posts above the author box.
I don’t want to use plugins
It requires a little bit of change in the code and a little bit styling also. I’ll give you the start:
1. The categories & Tags:
Open the file “single.php” and look for this on line 15:
Just after it paste this:
2. Related Posts:
In “single.php” look on line 67 for this:
Just before it paste this:
Now, your job remains just to style both of sections. Hope this helped.
Cheers!
In single.php post page, the sidebar is under the content and the footer is scewif.
Hi there,
Did you enable the comments section? If not, go to your WP dashboard > Appearance > Jellylike Options > Blog and enable the comments section.
Cheers!
Hello,
Great work on this theme. I really like it.
Just one problem…when I create a contact page, the contact form doesn’t have the same styling as the demo.
Thanks, Scott
Hi there,
Can you please tell me how do you insert your contact form?
Cheers!
Thanks for the quick reply. I just figured out what I was doing wrong. I was creating a new page and choosing contact for the template. When what I needed to do was choose full width for the template and then add the shortcode [contactform admin=”your@e-mail.com”] to the page.
Oh, sorry, that contact page template is from another theme of mine and I forgot to delete it because this theme does not use a template. Glad you’ve figured it out.
Cheers!
1. It seems there is an issue with the titles of the blog page. The titles(meta) show up, but not on the page I created for a blog. Any ideas how to fix this?
2. I would of loved to see this them with tags, comments, breadcrumbs, related posts and categories to show on posts. It is an important SEO value.
3. None of the intro’s show anywhere(except home page).
4. No Goggle+ icon for the social profiles. No hard coded facebook, twitter or Google+ buttons on a blog post or page.
Overall, it is a nice theme(no doubts about that), but it lacks some basic functions of WordPress. Tags are the new keywords(tag widget is not sufficient). Breadcrumbs are important from a navigation perspective and the organic search results. Social media under the page/post title or before the author box, allows visitors to engage your conversation through the 3 main social sites(Google, Facebook and twitter).
I am not having a bitch about this, just making some observations, with the hope they could be implemented in the next update. It is a shame that some of the basic functions are excluded, as Jellylike has a lot of potential(imho), given the right functions and enhancements.
I will reserve my rating(1-5 stars) to see how JellyLike progresses.
Hi there,
1. Please explain me a little bit more about this problem. Are you talking about the “Custom Titles”?
2. I have this in mind for the future update.
3. That was the point of the intro. To display only on the homepage. If you want to display it on all pages just send me a message through my profile page and I’ll tell you what to do to display it on all pages.
4. There are many social networks out there and you cannot put all of them. I’ll also look to add more in the future update.
You know that different users require different features. Nobody can build themes or even websites with every feature that every user wants/likes. Though, I appreciate the critique/advices and I’m taking serious the user’s requests and I’m looking forward to implement more features in the next updates and fulfill their requests as much as I can.
Cheers!
1. Meta title shows up on all pages and posts, except the blog page.
4. yes there are many social networks, but I refer to the main ones, Google Plus, Facebook, Twitter. I wasn’t asking for all, just the main ones.
I am not asking for anything extra, just the basic functionality that most decent themes incorporate. but until you do, JellyLike goes on the shelves like all the rest of them, who fail at basic functionality.
Hi,
1. Sorry but I still don’t understand what meta title. Could you please send me a screenshot at royal.flush [at] rocketmail.com?
I will update the theme in a couple of days with more features like the ones you’ve pointed out.
I’m sorry, but I cannot agree with you because these features are not basic features. Most of them aren’t even by default in the WP core. It’s you choice if you want to use or not the theme. That’s what the demo is for – to see what are the theme features, what you’ll get and decide if you need it or not.
Anyway, I think that this debate may be better discussed on the forum than on the theme’s forum.
P.S. Stay close for the next update
Cheers!
The Portfolio Carousel on the home page only shows 5 portfolio images and the 6th image is a repeat of the first one. I have set it to show 24 images, but only six show with the last one being a repeat of the first one.
Any ideas how to fix this issue?
UPDATE : The problem is with the amount of posts shown on the blog page. You set say, 4 posts to show on the blog page, then that is all that will show in the Carousel. Go figure!
The option, in the JellyLike options page, to set the amount of posts to show on the blog page does not work, as it is overridden by the number of posts to display in the Settings>Reading page.
Thanks for noticing this. The problem is from a variable name that I forgot to change and remained from a previous theme.
Please send me a message through my profile page and I’ll send you the fix until I get the theme updated.
Cheers!
1. meta title(<title></title>), in the header.php.
Categories, tags and comment count are default for WordPress. Breadcrumbs and related post aren’t, but an important feature, nonetheless.
You right it was my choice to use JellyLike, as it is my choice, not to use it. I will be much more careful in the future, when selecting a theme.
I prefer to use this forum, so potential buyers can see some of the issues that are present with this theme.
1. I understand now, but I cannot replicate your problem. I’ve made some tests on both the demo page and on my work station and the meta titles display fine. It displays the title of the page.
It’s ok to use the forum if you want, but it’s not ok to say that if some features that you’d like are not present in the theme are issues.
Cheers!
Nice to see you are so helpful. But when they are default functions of WordPress that are missing, then they are issues.
Thanks for your responses, but I am moving on, to find a theme that does not have so many issues and incorporate at least the default functions of WordPress.
Oh btw, I can say what I like, especially when there are missing default functions. It is not that I would like to have them, but these functions are expected to exist in a premium theme.
Please check most of the successful themes here and let me know if you find one that has all those features incorporated by default. I just checked a few just because I was curious.
And just to show you that I appreciate that you bought my theme I’m and that I’m keen to satisfy my clients I will make an update in the next couple of hours that will contain most of the features you’ve named.
Cheers!
You may want to look at Qualifire http://themeforest.net/item/qualifire-wordpress-theme/105879, but there are many like this, I just don’t like the design.
I didn’t say that there aren’t any. I said just take a look at the best themes on the marketplace and you’ll see that many of them don’t have even few of the features you’ve mentioned. Does this mean that those themes have issues? No. As far as I know themes are not accepted on the marketplace if they have issues. If this was to be a rejection reason 80% of the themes wouldn’t be accepted.
And it does not say anywhere that a theme should have all that features.
Anyway, I’ve just uploaded an update and it should be accepted soon. Please check the demo page if you want to see the changes that I’ve made.
Cheers!
Love your theme
But after poking around a bit I have affirmed that your theme is causing the admin panel of wordpress to completely shut down to a snails pace.
Its completely unbearable.
Did I do something wrong upon installation?
when I use other themes, the admin panel is fine, but when I switch to this theme its just halts everything.
Please Help.
Hi there,
Did you receive any errors or it’s just don’t working?
Cheers!
No there’s no error message, but I think it may have to do with the option that you offered to upload the xml file to resemble the default look from your sample theme.
please help.
Hi,
If you want, send me a message through my profile page with a test username and password on your website and I’ll check it out.
Cheers!
Hi!
Great theme!
Im no big shot on coding so I have som basic questions: Where can i change the text for the buttons; read more, comments, and the contact form? Is it also possible to change the text “followers/follow us” in both twitter sections?
Thanks!
Hi there,
You can translate all the theme by using the files in the “lang” folder and using a .po file reader.
If you want to hardcode the translation into the theme here’s how to do it:
1. The read more buttons are used with shortcodes, so here’s how to insert them:
2. Can you please tell me what comments text?
3. For the contact form go to the theme’s folder > admin and open the file named “shortcodes.php”. Now, from line 1012 to 1016 you’ll find this code:
Change the texts accordingly.
4. For the followers word go to the theme folder and open the file named “header.php”. On line 118 you’ll find this code:
5. For the follow code: go to the theme’s folder and open the file named “footer.php”. On line 24 you’ll find this code:
Cheers!
Hi,
Thanks for your answer! I still don’t understand how to fix the following:
- I would like to change the text for the “read more” button. I haven’t used any shortcode. It seams to be as default for the blog page.
- I would also like to change the text for “next article”, “previous article” buttons.
- I would like to remove/disable the “0 comments” button. It’s unnecessary when I wont be letting users commenting.
- Is it possible to remove/disable the text that says ” both trackbacks and pings are currently closed”?
Many thanks!
Hi,
1. You mean the blog “read more”? If so, edit the file named “blog.php” and on line 63 and 105 you’ll find the text.
2. Open the file named “single.php” and on line 116 & 117 you’ll find the text.
3. If you don’t need the comments section open the file named “single.php” and remove this code from line 173 to 175:
4. In the same “single.php” file remove this code from line 50 to 71:
Cheers!
