Hi,

I was planning to buy this theme.. I was going through the blue version i found error on the below page:

http://demo.astoundify.com/jobify-darker/plans-pricing/

have a look.

thanks

Astoundify

Thanks for the heads up. This has been fixed.

Default-user

Cool, No problem..

Default-user

I have couple of questions:

1. does the user get a dashboard?

2. if the user doesn’t get the dashboard – does the data of the job seekers who applied using form save anywhere?

Astoundify

The user gets a dashboard see: http://demo.astoundify.com/jobify/manage-jobs/ job seeker data gets sent directly to their email address and not stored on the server.

Default-user

so the job seeker doesnt get any dashboard to save resume or to check the jobs they applied for?

Default-user

i see that u have a plugin for job alerts..

it says ” Allow registered users to save searches and create job alerts which send new jobs via email.”

can you clarify this? what does it do?

Astoundify

Job Alerts provides a management page to add, preview, enable, disable, edit and delete email alerts. Alerts can be configured based on keywords and job types.

If you are logged in, you can save your search as an alert using the ‘add alert’ button.

See screen shot: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1657501/Screenshots/addalert.png

Email alerts can be configured to be sent with several different intervals triggered by WordPress cron. Alerts are sent in plain text format and list all matching jobs posted during the interval.

See screen shot: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1657501/Screenshots/Screen-Shot-2013-08-24-at-00.47.24.png

Default-user

Hi I understand that.. by my question is.. when the Job Seeker doesn’t have a Dashboard/Login.. where can he save the search or login?

When you say “If you are logged in” – this statement is confusing..

Default-user

Can you please get back to me on this?? i need to understand before i purchase the theme today..

Just that i dont want to get stuck after i purchase the theme..

Astoundify

Not sure I understand your question.

You can create an account to have alerts sent to you. The dashboard only shows jobs you have submitted, not jobs you have applied for. Although this is not currently supported, an addon could possibly be created in the future (though there is no timeline for this at the moment.)

Hope that helps!

Default-user

Ok That clears my question. So the Dash board is only available for the Job Poster and not seeker. Understood. Thank you

Default-user

Although the “Jobify Site Stats” on the homepage of jobify says xyz members. so that is just the job poster number and doesn’t include the job seekers..

Astoundify

This is not for job seekers its for members who have applied to the site to post a job.

Thanks!

Default-user

Thank you.. my doubts are pretty much cleared now.. hope you come up with the Job Seeker dashboard soon.. Will be buying this theme..

Astoundify

Okay thanks!

Default-user

Sorry for asking too many questions :)

Hi There. Awesome theme. Is it possible to create 2 different login profiles i.e. Employers and Jobseekers. I know there will be an addon to allow jobseekers to post resumes – will that be part of that update?

Many thanks.

Astoundify

Yes it will be apart of that update. There will be a management area for job seekers. There is already a management area for employers.

Thanks

Default-user

Thanks a mil. Will purchase now and look forward to that update.

Astoundify

GREAT! Thank you! :)

Well thought out theme. Do you have a way to auto install the demo if I were to buy it? I always end up getting lost otherwise.

Astoundify

We have an Express Setup Service we offer to get a replica of our demo set up on your site. Check it out here: http://support.astoundify.com/express-setup-service/

Default-user

Thanks. What kind of costs are we talking about?

Astoundify

We include the XML Dummy Content Included For Easy Setup and video tutorials or pay for our express setup service to get a professional to install the theme for you:

Default-user

And the express setup costs…?

Astoundify

From the page linked:

“For $199, our theme installation and setup service consists of us installing WordPress for you on your web-hosting, uploading your new theme and setting it up just like our demo. We will also setup your Google analytics.”

Default-user

I couldn’t see that as I received:

“Express Setup Service Please login to access this form.”

Astoundify

Sorry about that, didn’t realize.

I have a pre-purchase question… 1. i want to make a listing that filters results if you are member, non members see job posting general info, but members see the full posting.. is this possible with this theme..

Astoundify

This is not built in by default, but it would be pretty easy to do via a child theme and a few extra lines of code.

Default-user

after i buy the theme, is this something you can help me out with. i have never done this. i am a designer, not a developer

Astoundify

We have partnered with WerkPress.com if you need customizing the theme they will be able to help you, we do not offer free customizations.

Default-user

but u said it was easy, the cheapest quote they offer is $300.. who can pay that for something easy…

Astoundify

It’s what they charge we don’t control what they charge, there are other customizations services you can use like Tweaky.com or Microlancer

One more question, can i add adsense or other ad plugin to show up every four or five search results queries…

Astoundify

There is nothing built in for this, but definitely possible. There are some tutorials around the web. Hope that helps!

This is the best theme I’ve bought here hands down. Clean design, clean code, love the mobile responsive styling.

Question: Lets say I add a listing for some company….. weeks later they roll in and register an employer account. I would then like to change author of the job post over to them so they can see it in their “manage jobs” page.

However, the “Author” dropdown is missing on the Jobs Custom Post Type, so I can’t reassign it to them.

I’ve tried adding ‘author’ to the supports array for the custom post type, like this: 'supports' => array( 'title', 'editor', 'custom-fields', 'author' ), (Line# 188 in the file “class-wp-job-manager-post-types.php)... yet the author meta still doesn’t show up. And yes, I’ve looked under the “Screen Options” tab to make sure it’s not unchecked. ;) but it doesn’t even show up there as an option.

Am I going about this the wrong way, or missing something else? Thanks so much!

Astoundify

Odd, that change should have worked. Can you please make a topic in our support forum and maybe I can help out a bit more. You can also try asking Mike Jolley here: https://github.com/mikejolley/WP-Job-Manager

Hi. I have a pre-purchase question. The job board I’m working on creating now includes jobs from around the world. Will the map feature pin worldwide locations? Can job seekers enter a country name under ‘location.’? Finally, will employers be able to pay in different currencies? I appreciate the help.

Default-user

Sorry, just thought of 2 more more questions. Can I put social networking links, such as Facebook, onto the homepage? Also, can the ‘Job Type’ and ‘Job Category,’ list be edited? For example, if it was an education recruitment site, the different job categories will need to be related to that industry. Sorry for all of the questions. Cheers.

Astoundify

The pins will show wherever the job location is set when submitting a job.

Job Type and Job Categories can easily be edited just like standard Categories.

Not sure where you mean about social networking, but it’s most likely possible via a child theme.

Nice theme! I plan to use this for my client project. Regarding my client requirement, I have a pre-purchase question:
  • Is it possible to register my user (employer & job seeker) with their social account (fb/twitter/g+) ?
  • Is it possible to list job seeker skills?
  • Is it possible to notify job seeker fb account when there is a new job posted based on their skill?

Thanks. :)

Astoundify

1. There are some social login plugins you could use, such as http://wordpress.org/plugins/social-connect/ 2. Not sure what you mean. You mean have a page for people looking for jobs that lists their skills? No not currently, but it’s something that could be created as an addon in the future. 3. Not exactly the same, but check out http://mikejolley.com/projects/wp-job-manager/add-ons/job-alerts/

Hope that helps!

4. will adding alerts be a plugin, comes in built with the website?

15. featured jobs, can i see more of them in a grid on the home page?

16. category. location and keyword on the homepage. can i add an experience field, salary field etc.

17. can i include aptitude tests when someone applies for a job, after they pass the aptitude tests, they would be allowed to submit their CV’s or send it to the company directly?

Answer: This will be apart of a future update of the theme, there will be an extra plugin for Job Seekers which will do these features.

Question: will i be able to set a deadline on a job, say that, a job is listed, expiring tomorrow, does it show expiring tomorrow, and does it automatically gets removed from the website, after say 7 days of expiry, or on the same date? and can we put this in the home page, instead of recent jobs, say jobs with closest deadlines on the home page. and how many jobs can be shown on the home page?

hey many thanks for your reply

just this one.

Question: also, it says, 6 members (job seekers, or employers), 10 jobs posted, and 4 jobs filled (how does it know if its filled), and can it also show, how many people visit the site in the same format, like keep counting it live, in the same area?

Default-user

i meant. can it also show, how many people visit the site in the same format, in the same place, like keep counting it live, in the same area? possible?

Astoundify

Not without modification. It would be possible, but you would need to duplicate that widget and create something to track visitors, etc.

Default-user

hi. i purchased the theme :D

many thanks for your replies. sorry but is there a sidebar i can add spaces for advertisements?

i am not a developer so if you could guide me on displaying visitors in the same format.

thanks kishan

Default-user

i have set up the theme and it was super easy! :D

just a few questions and I will almost be done!

1. how do you set the menu on the homepage, on the top instead of the navigation menu?

2. how do you have job spotlight next to the recent job list, instead of underneath it (it looks too big and taking up a lot of space)

3. no left and right sidebars? any plugin for those?

4. my map is not showing up. i live in tanzania. anything to do with zoom level, or anyhting?

5. can i just have search filter on the homepage without the map. search filter with category, location (when i put the search widget on the homepage, it just appears with a long bar with just search and not with those filters) so search filter only without the maps?

6. search filter, with the slider, the revolution slider?

7. how can i have full width content on the job listing (currently the job listing is one column, and the company description on the other).

many thnaks for your positive response in advance kishan
