Hi, apologies if the answers are here somewhere in this forum but;

1. In the demo job alerts is functioning. Is this included in the theme or do you need to purchase this as an add on?

2. Can jobs be ordered by application deadline date?

Thanks for the help

Astoundify

1. This is an addon: http://mikejolley.com/projects/wp-job-manager/add-ons/job-alerts/

2. There is no setting for this, but this can be done programmatically in a child theme.

Hope that helps!

Do you have a HTML version of this template? I mean… a non-wordpress template.

Thank you.

Astoundify

We do not have a non-WordPress template.

Thanks

Hello,

Awesome theme :) I’m very interested in purchasing but would like to know if you have any plans of releasing an update that allows users with IE8 to view it? I know it’s an outdated browser but where I am, it might be useful. Thanks.

Astoundify

Probably not. We’d much rather be using that time to create new awesome products with great features for browsers that aren’t 4 years old! It should work fine in IE9+ though.

Hi

Few questions from me please:

1. How do you register as a Job seeker or Employer?
2. Do you have a template to show categories for all jobs?
3. Can I make the homepage show a list of Job Categories instead of some job listings?
4. Any Featured Jobs feature?
5. Can employers search through Resume’s?
6. Can I replace the word Resume with CV throughout the site?

Thanks

Astoundify

1. Through the registration shortcode provided by the theme: http://demo.astoundify.com/jobify/signup/

2. There is no template, but one could be made in a child theme using some simple template tags provided by WordPress (http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/wp_list_categories)

3. Yes, you would need to make a custom widget using what I mentioned in #2.

4. If you use WooCommerce Paid Listings you can create job packages that “feature” jobs and charge more for them, etc. By default it adds a colored border and different background color. You can further modify this with your own CSS if you would like. See: http://demo.astoundify.com/jobify/jobs/

5. No, not currently sorry.

6. Yes! Using a translation file or translation plugin.

Hope that helps.

Hi, I have a pre-sale question:

Does the map (homepage) automatically geolocate based on a users location, and if not do you know of a way to do this through wordpress/your theme?

Otherwise can you set the static location it appears with?

Thanks!

Astoundify

There is currently no geo-location support. By default the map view loads so all pins are visible, however you can specify a default center point and zoom that will override this.

Hi guys,

how is the recruiter notified? So when someone uploads their resume and applies for the job on Jobify, does the recruiter receive an email notification? If yes, can those email notifications be styled and rephrased?

Thanks!

Astoundify

If you mean when using Gravity Forms like we have in our demo, yes, the email will be sent to the recruiter. You can style the emails as much as Gravity Forms will allow you.

Can I translate this to another language? Just one language for the site, not multilanguage, another question is that if I do not want the map on the homepage can I remove this option and maybe just have a slider? Thanks.

Juba

Astoundify

Yes, you can change the language of the theme and plugin using the included .PO/.MO files or use a plugin like Codestyling Localization or WPML, we have detailed instructions on how to do this in our theme documentation.

You can re-arrange/remove the components on the home page as they are widgets, so say you do not wish to display a map then you would just need to remove the map widget, its very simple. Here’s an example where there is no map in the header area: http://demo.astoundify.com/jobify-darker

I updated the plugins today, and now all jobs, except the first 6, are gone from the job listing page. I tried adjusting all the plugin settings but nothing seems to work. Please advise.

Astoundify

Please downgrade the plugin http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/wp-job-manager.1.2.0.zip we will need to release an update to the Jobify theme to ensure full compatibility.

Thanks. But this didn’t help. I still cannot see more than 6 listings in the jobs page. Could there be any other plugin causing this?

I have pre-sales question. I am looking for job board to add to existing website. If I install this job board into www.domainname.com/jobs location – into separate WordPress installation (another wordpress installation is at www.domainname.com) will I be able to use short codes to insert the latest jobs into front page of www.domainname.com.

I am concerned as www.domainname.com/jobs is separate WordPress installation and I don’t know if shortcodes will work with www.domainaname.com and be able to pull the jobs to feature on the front page.

Thank you!

Astoundify

No you will not be able to use the shortcodes across a WordPress installation, sorry.

If you did it on a network install you could write your own shortcode that would switch WordPress temporarily over to the other site so you can query it, then return your result, and switch back.

Hi I am planning to buy your solution but i wonder if there is a functionality for seekers to post their resume and for employers to search for CV in a database with a paid or free subscription model. Do you also have a job alert functionality ? thanks

Astoundify

There is no resume support currently, but there is an addon that will be developed in the future to support this. There is a job alerts addon you can view here: http://mikejolley.com/projects/wp-job-manager/add-ons/job-alerts/

And you can demo it on our theme demo.

Hi, after a long search I have settled on your premium theme – Jobify. however, I’d like to know a few things:

Can I use the premium wpjobboard plugin instead of the wp job manager plugin, without any conflict?

Secondly, does the Jobify theme allow employers and/or job searchers to each have a profile page. For instance can employers have a page unique to them, with their job listing. Also, can job seekers have a resume page unique to them?

Pardon if I ask novice questions. I am indeed a novice in WordPress or web development.

Best regards

Astoundify

1. No, this theme only works with WP Job Manager

2. Employers can have a “page” that lists their jobs and profile using our “Company Profile” extension. Here is a demo: http://demo.astoundify.com/jobify/company/Disney+Interactive/—There is currently no resume functionality, but addons/extensions are being developed to add functionality like this in the future.

Hope that helps!

Default-user

Thanks. A suggestion though. It would be helpful if you could make single premium plugin with all these addon features. I believe people (like me) won’t mind purchasing them. I say this because I am sceptical about using multiple plugins when the features can be integrated into one plugin.

Regards

Astoundify

We don’t have plans to create one single plugin as some features people do not want. So in our opinion its better to create a set of addons and that way you can create a different site with different features instead of a site with a ton of features you do not need/want.

We also check for compatibility between all the different plugins and ensure there are no issues and if there are we address them.

Hope that makes sense.

Hi I would like to purchase this theme, but I have pre-selling question. I want to adapt it to list businesses, instead jobs. For this, I will need to approve any ads before publish it. Do you have any idea if it would be possible with this theme?

Astoundify

Yes, you can require submissions to be manually approved before going live (this is the default functionality). Hope that helps!

Default-user

Thank you, I really appreciate it. Just two more questions: 1)Is that possible to change these forms easily without programming

2) Can I disable payments gateways. I won’t utilize it.

Thank you. Fabiana

Astoundify

1. Not without knowledge of PHP, no. We have some example code here: https://github.com/astoundify/wp-job-manager-fields

2. Yes, by default there are no payment gateways.

Are the search results sorted by the closest to the furthest?

Astoundify

The location search? No they are only sorted by relevance/accuracy to the keyword/location entered.

I have seen this question throughout the board: Are you able to create a resume database for jobseekers? I am looking to create a community of jobseekers as well as companies offering jobs. BuddyPress would be a solution but apparently not with Jobify? Any other solutions out there?

Astoundify

Hey, We are already building a job seekers add-on plugin that will work with Jobify and the WP Job Manager plugin.

It will allow job seekers to upload job resumes to the site and employers will have access to this information for free or the site admin would be able to charge the employment companies access to the database.

Thanks!

I know this is more for Mike Jolley than for you, as he is the developer… this is just a more easily-accessible forum… If the spec for the resume add-on is still being built out, it would be ENORMOUSLY helpful if employers searching the database have the ability to save resumes to private folders and tag resumes with private keywords relevant to their searches. Just puttin’ in my 2 cents… =)

Astoundify

Cheers Phil! Thanks for your suggestions and feedback! Your suggestions help build better products!
