Hi,

Thank you for this awesome theme, I purchased it recently! :)

I do have a couple of questions:

1) normal input widths css classes (like input-mini, input-small, input-medium) don’t seem to work. How do I get these to work. Also the grid sizing (span5, span3 etc) doesn’t seem to work :(

2) How to do I create horizontal forms to work?

Thanks much! Harry

nagaemas

Hello Harry,

Thank you for purchase! Really glad you like it :)

Here are the answer to your questions:

1) I haven’t implemented Bootstrap forms on this template as I’m not using Bootstrap grid system at all. This template is partially based on Bootstrap, and for the grids it is using Skeleton. Input sizes can be set by using input-small, input-medium and input-large. Form structure should just follow the one on the example.

2) To build horizontal forms, use the structure from the HTML, and add form-horizontal to the div with form-row class.

Thanks :)

Hi Nagaemas,

I tried adding form-horizontal (see this link: http://pastebin.com/R2MzFiN9). But that didn’t work.

Thanks! Harry

nagaemas

Ow, my bad.. It should be form-inline, not form-horizontal :( Then it should work.

Thanks :)

is the girl on the right side working for your company?

Hello,

No, I don’t even know the girl. She is from a stockphoto purchased from PhotoDune. :)

I was very interested in this theme until I looked closer at the code behind it, and now I question the implementation. The amount of overhead, loading up this many frameworks, is unnecessary. You are using bootstrap, customizer, jquery, jquery plugins, and template js, not to mention a dozen js plugins. The description says it’s a bootstrap site, but it’s really not, it’s a hybrid creation that includes several frameworks. Also, CSS includes bootstrap, skeleton, and what appears to be a custom layout css as well. Why would you have included and used multiple JS and CSS frameworks with overlapping capabilities? I really like the look of the theme, and the W3C compliance clearly demonstrates a great effort creating this, but like i said, I don’t understand the overhead. Bootstrap includes basically everything you need to make this a great theme, with the exception of a few js plugins.

nagaemas

Hello,

I’m sorry for all the overheads of this template, but for the plugin JS files and the customizer, they can be removed when it’s not needed on your page. For example, revolution slider, flexslider is really not required on other pages except the home page.

Also, I’m not using multiple JS frameworks. Only jQuery is required, template.js contains initialization codes for the plugins, and some really necessary scripts like imageLoading, CSS3 easings and smartResize are added in jquery.plugins.js. This all is required to get the template working correctly. Bootstrap.js only contains tooltip, alert and modals. Again, this all can be easily merged into one JS file.

This was added to all pages just to ease the implementation, but when you build the website they can be easily tweaked to suit each page’s need. I can assure you, that none of the plugins and styles have overlapping functionality, they were all implemented carefully and thoughtfully to work together with the smallest possible size.

The reason why I wasn’t using Bootstrap completely is just that I don’t like some of Bootstrap’s elements like the grid system. I just don’t like how the grid work, where you need to span the elements for each row and the need to create a new container again for a new row.

Okay, let me take this as a lesson for the next templates, and I’ll try updating this template ASAP, by removing Bootstrap completely.

Thank you :)

Thanks for the clarification. It’s a great theme, you did a great job. Sorry to comment on the implementation, but I was disappointed to have to take the time to parse and combine code to improve performance. If there is anything you are aware of that could remedy this, an update to this theme would be great. Great job!

nagaemas

Okay, an update will be released soon then!

I do not know what I am doing wrong but I can not get any of the sliders to work nor the twitter and flikr feeds?

nagaemas

Hello,

Thank you for purchase :) About your issue, do you get any error message on your console? If you’re using Chrome, then you can access it via developer tools..

If there isn’t any error message, then make sure you have already included jquery, and the appropriate sliders on your page.

Please mail me a sample of your page if you can’t get it working.

Thank you :)

I figured some of that out now. However, I am unsure where to enter a username for the twitter and flikr feed

nagaemas

Hi,

To do that, open up assets/js/template.js; there you’ll see the lines where you can put the flickr and twitter usernames.

line 109 for twitter, and line 118 for flickr if you haven’t modified the script.

Thanks :)

Thank you so much. I have never used a template like this one. I have hopefully one more question. How about the contact form? How do I add the email address to send them to?

nagaemas

Hello,

The contact form is unfortunately not implemented with server side script. So you should work on it yourself.

Try Googling for ‘sending contact form with php’ if you’re using PHP :) I’d suggest using swiftmail (http://swiftmailer.org/) for sending mails when you use PHP :)

Thanks :)

I’m sorry for this question but I’m new to web dev. how can I remove the color picker (all the js and css involved) and make the theme color red?

Thanks, Jason

nagaemas

Hello Jason,

To remove the picker, you just need to open up them HTML files, remove the following code which is located directly after the body tag.
<div id="joiee-customizer" />

Then, also do not include customizer.js on your page, then it’s done.

To get the color red, get the generated CSS from the customizer, and put it in a separate stylesheet and include it on your page.

Thanks :)

Thank you for the response, I was also wondering if we can refactor all the javascript files and minimize the number of them based on whats needed inside the page? It would really be nice to have a doc on whats needed for what feature.

Default-user
hjavaher Purchased

also, how do I get the generated CSS of the Customizer?

nagaemas

Hello,

Yes, I was also thinking to improve the docs soon.. :) About the features, here’s a short overview about each function:

Home: Slider 1—> revolution slider

Slider 2—> nivo slider

Slider 3—> flexSlider

Portfolio Carousel—> caroufredsel

Videos in Blog post—> fitvids

Filterable Portfolio—> isotope

flickr stream—> jflickrfreed

Google maps—> map

Tweet stream—> tweet

Share buttons on the blog page—> sharrre

jquery, bootstrap.js, selectnav, template.js is always needed on your pages.

To use the script, just locate each plugin in the assets/plugins/folder.

To use the generated CSS, just click the button to generate CSS, copy it into a CSS file, and include it on your page.

Next update, I’ll strip out each page to only include the required files.

Thanks :)

How can we make slider fixed size ?

nagaemas

Hello,

To fix the slider width, you need to replace the following code:

<div id="fullwidthbanner-container">
   <div id="fullwidthbanner">...</div>
</div>

with this;

<div id="banner_container">
   <div id="banner">...</div>
</div>

Thank you :)

nagaemas

If you need documentation for revolution slider, please mail me :) I forgot to include it in the download package, I’ll update it soon.

thanks.

Hi, I have purchased two of your themes (site template and admin template) This one (Joiee) and MoonCake. First off let me tell you that you do a superb job with these template and keep up the good work. I’m trying to use a MoonCake Wizard in Joiee but with no luck. Is there anyway possible you can help me with this? I would gladly pay for your time.

Thank you, Jason

nagaemas

Hello Jason,

Thank you for your purchases of my themes :) Really appreciate it… About the MoonCake wizard, it’s actually not build to work together with Joiee.. Because some elements present in MoonCake doesn’t exist in Joiee.

What did you get after putting the wizard? Can you give me a screenshot so I can help you setup the wizard :)

Thanks

Hey, Thanks for replying. I sent you a message on the site so you should have my email address. Can you please email me? here, I have taken a screenshot of the wizard page inside the joiee. you can see it at

http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b567/hjavaher/Wizard_zps074bc3ed.png

Once again, thanks for your help Jason

nagaemas

Well, it seems like you haven’t added the CSS for the wizard layout on your page. This file is located in the wizard plugin folder of mooncake :)

Also, don’t forget to change the form structure to follow Joiee’s form structure, or else the form layout will be broken.

Thank you :)

sorry about that. I didn’t even notice that the screenshot was taken of the one that I hadn’t included the css. Thanks for getting back to me, but after hours of fiddling, making new css files using the chrome developers extension I have now integrated the wizard fully (no css is overriding the current css classes in Joiee) Again, thanks for your help.

How do I edit the forms? Specifically the contact form? I mean make the submit button go to a certain email etc. Also, how do I edit the map to show my location?

nagaemas

Hi jarellthompson66,

The contact form in this template doesn’t have build in functionality. You should implement it yourself using PHP or any other language.

To make the map show a specific location, you can edit the javascript file; open up assets/js/template.js and edit your earth coordinates on line 129. This will center the map on that coordinate.

To get the coordinate of your location, I recommend the following steps:

1) open up Google Maps (https://maps.google.com/)

2) Search your place

3) Right click on your place, then choose ‘What’s Here’ on the dropdown menu.

4) After that the coordinates will appear in the textbox on top of the page.

5) Insert this on template.js line 129.

Thank you :)

How can I change the color to blue instead of the default green? I made a new stylesheet and incorporated it into the page but the color didn’t change.

Is there something I need to replace in an existing stylesheet?

Thanks.

nagaemas

Hi DDoSTool,

Changing the color is easy, just use the customize that can be found on the example pages, then hit the ‘Generate CSS’ button. Copy paste the CSS styles that appears in the modal window in a new stylesheet and include it on your page :)

Thanks

I tried that but unfortunately the color change did not occur, even after deleting the cache which may have it locked on one color. Is there another way of doing this?
