Discussion on Jupither - Responsive Wordpress Gallery & Blog

Hi,

I haven’t been able to get videos into the portfolio using the url in the description box. So instead I’ve uploaded the vimeography plugin here http://antheaandlyndon.com/video-2/ but I can’t get it to fit in the page (set at default), why does it look like it is full width, whether I set a max pixel width or not on the vimeography gallery.

Thanks

elemis

Hi,

We cannot be sure why the plugin doesn’t work. But we can create a test post to show you how to insert a video in the gallery like it is explained in the help documentation if you can give us permission to your wordpress admin. You can send the credentials to us via the contact form on our profile page.

*note – I have set the page to portfolio instead of default so you can see that the featured image for the ‘video’ portfolio doesn’t come up with anything in the slider, even though it has the url in the description

Please see the previous answer.

I really love this template that I use here . I just want to know is this theme elegantly integrate with WooCommerce or any other commerce plugin. Thank you.

elemis

Hi,

Commerce plugins usually have extra requirements and unfortunately we haven’t tried any commerce plugins so we are not sure if the theme is compatible with such plugins.

I’ll try one and see how this will fit. Thank you.

Hi, I was wondering if it is possible using Jupither to click on the individual photo to make it full screen. Here is my blog: http://www.justinerothbartphotography.com/#/

Ok. Do you know if this theme is compatible with FotoMoto? http://support.fotomoto.com/customer/portal/articles/71504-partner-with-us

Or do you know if the plugin called “Sell Media” is compatible with the Jupither theme? http://graphpaperpress.com/plugins/sell-media/

elemis

Hi,

Unfortunately we haven’t tried any of those plugins so we cannot be sure if they are compatible or not.

Also, I like how the social media links are in the front under “Elsewhere.” But what is supposed to happen under “My latest work”? It looks like a blank space. Is there a way I can keep the social media links and get rid of “My latest work”? http://www.justinerothbartphotography.com/

Thanks for all your help! There seems to be a big space in between that text at the top and my portfolio photos. Do you know how I can change that? http://www.justinerothbartphotography.com/

elemis

There seems to be blank paragraph in portfolio page. Please open your portfolio page in wordpress admin, and delete all text in the page editor.

Thank you!

Hello,

I purchased your beautiful Jupither template. I am experiencing a problem: the pictures uploaded onto the portfolio and blog lost their metadatas, copyrights and titles.

To fix the problem I changed the backend processor for image resizing in Wordpress allowing me to keep the EXIF data on the new resized images.

However, it still does not solve the resize.php method the portfolio gallery uses to resize the images. That has to do with the slider that is packaged with the template. I would love to keep the Portfolio slider and still have the EXIF data there. Would you be available to customize this slider for me so it keeps the metadata of the downloaded pictures?

Also I would be interested for an other project to get a portfolio with thumbnail onto a jupither website. Would it be possible to design that?

Thank you for your support and amazing products.

Best, Layla

elemis

Hi,

This seems to be related the TimThumb script that is used for resizing images. If you disable TimThumb via the Theme Options Panel – Portfolio, the images will be uploaded as is. But you will need to resize the images manually then. The slider height is 500px.

Unfortunately, since our schedule is completely booked we cannot help with customizations.

Hi, I’ve purchased the theme and it’s very nice but when I upload image on portfolio I see as a normal image gallery and no slider works. What’s the trouble?

elemis

Can you please deactivate your plugins and try again?

Sorry for the third message, but I don’t understand why slider doesn’t work. I followed help very well but it doesn’t work. I have to install some lightbox plugin or no? The second question is the dropdown menu’. It seems no working.. I created a menù and put the page on the right order. 1° colum and second column right but nothing.

Plz need help.

Default-user

Yes I choose, but I don’t see the dropdown menù. I put in the right order pages but I have just one link.

How do I change the order of my portfolios? http://www.justinerothbartphotography.com/

Thanks, Justine

elemis

Hi,

You can use Post Types Order plugin (http://wordpress.org/plugins/post-types-order/) to re-order portfolio posts.

Thank you!

its your theme “child theme” friendly?

elemis

Hi,

It will be on the next update. But if you can send us an email via the contact form on our profile page we can send you the necessary files to make the theme child theme friendly so you won’t have to wait for the update.

Hello, I am looking at potentially purchasing this theme for a client who is a writer. What we would need is for the categories on the home page to open posts in the slideshow area, not just images (as her portfolio is more writing than images). Is that possible with this theme? Or is the slider gallery-based and not category-based? Thanks!

elemis

Hi,

The slider is gallery-based and unfortunately can only display images.

How do I delete the boxes around the titles in my blog section? For example, there are boxes around the post title, “recent posts,” “recent comments,” and “meta.” I tried changing the color of the boxes, but either way, it looks too distracting to the text in the post. Is it possible to make the boxes clear? http://www.justinerothbartphotography.com/?page_id=66

Thanks, Justine

elemis

Hi

Please paste the following code into the Custom CSS field in the theme options panel:

.sidebox h3,
.side-content .post .heading .date,
.side-content .post .heading .title,
.side-content .post .heading .comment {
        background-color: none;
        -moz-box-shadow: none;
        box-shadow:none;
        -webkit-box-shadow:none;
        padding: 0;
}

You can also add color to have a different text color.

Hi,

I’m wondering if there’s a way to incorporate a lightbox, or any other way to see one image at a time on the portfolio view? Does the draggable functionality interfere with being able to trigger a lightbox by clicking on an image?

Here is my site (currently in development): http://www.kyleparkinson.com/thres/beauty/

Thanks so much!

elemis

Hi,

If you check http://themes.iki-bir.com/jupither-wp/design/#/video you will see that we added fancybox functionality and it is for videos. But you can use the same method to add the bigger versions of your images. But it is not possible to make the entire image clickable since like you said the draggable functionality interferes with being able to trigger a lightbox by clicking on an image.

Default-user

Ah great, thanks! That should work well. Would you mind telling me how/where I can turn on that feature for each image? Thanks!

elemis

You can find instructions in the help documentation under “Videos in Portfolio” and instead of inserting a video link, you will add the link of the bigger version of your image.

Note that you will need to upload bigger versions to “Media Library” in admin, not to the post itself, so they don’t get attached to the slider like other normal size images.

When the mouse hovers over an image in a page (not in the portfolio section), the title shows. How can I remove this function?

http://www.justinerothbartphotography.com/?page_id=727

Thanks, Justine

elemis

Hi,

“title” attribute from the links should be removed.

Thank you!

Hi,

I would like to add the themes page templates selection to posts. what would be the simplest way to do it?

Thanks

elemis

Unfortunately we don’t have any hacks we can think of. Also not sure if I understand how the plugin works. If you need only one template which is fullwidth, isn’t creating only one template is enough, so you can select it every time you want to have a fullwidth post?

Default-user

I sort of did that. I created a custom post types and call templates but where normally would be the selection for templates in Attributes appears nothing. https://copy.com/2NeFCFlAbSsl

Default-user

I figured it out. Thanks

Had a question regarding self hosted video. i understand the method for implementing vimeo/youtube videos into the slider, but any ideas on how to do this with self hosted video? is there a good plugin that could work in combination with your theme where i could still drop in the embed code into the description field to make them show / play via the slider?

thanks in advance

elemis

Hi,

Unfortunately, the lightbox used for displaying videos (Fancybox) doesn’t have out of the box support for self-hosted videos.

Hello, wanted to know how I can upgrade to a newer version. I have the version 1.2.1 and wanted to update to version 1.2.3 (November 22, 2012) What I have to do?

elemis

You can download the latest version from Downloads page on Themeforest. You will need to unzip jupither.zip that is inside the theme folder of the package. Rename the unzipped folder as jupither2, zip it and install as a new theme in Wordpress.

Hi,

I am planning to purchase this theme for one of my client but I would like to know that if this theme includes PSD files of the design or not?

Thanks

elemis

Thank you for your interest in Jupither. PSD is not included but you can download the homepage PSD file free from here: http://elemisfreebies.com/04/05/jupither-free-homepage-psd/
