Hello,

I am considering buying this theme, but have a little question.

I have been working on my website in a different theme, bought here on themeforest.net, but I have had a lot of difficulties – which is part bugs and challenges in different browsers.

I will start by hearing about the background photo. I have the photo in high resolution and I would like to know if it regardless of screen size will be sharp? So the theme does not affect the definition?

Do the users of your theme experience a lot of challenges like this? Do videos really play seemlessly in all browsers?

I’ve read your later post from the “supermom” username – first of all, thank you for the purchase!

I will still answer your comments briefly, for the sake of transparency and clarity :)

- the background in Kabuki is regulated by specialized scripts which maintain the same image resolution on all devices. The scripts will stretch the images in only one case – if the viewing device is screen resolution is larger than the image size – that may happen if you use small images for the backgrounds; to avoid this, the recommended background image dimensions are 2000×1200 pixels or higher. You can also choose whether the image will be fitted into current browser by width or height in the background slider settings.

- there haven’t been any reports of cross-browser incompatibility or problems with embedded videos, yet if such or similar problems arise (and they inevitably do sometimes, since themes are quite complex pieces of software which need to adapt to so many conditions), I resolve them as quickly as possible via my support forums.

Hi again – one more question: The content pages are right now dark, almost black transparent – can we change the color to a light grey transparent instead? Is that possible?

In other words: do you have both a dark and a light version? Kind regrads Julie

Dear Julie,

you can pick any color and any transparency level (from completely transparent to completely opaque) for the content boxes in Kabuki, without having to touch any code – i.e. from the back-end Theme Options panel ;)

Hi again again Regarding photos we want to display:

On a separate work right now you show single photos. Is it possible to also to have several pictures in a sort of gallery/portfolio, showing one picture at first, and when you klick on it, the rest of the pictues of that event for instance shows up?

Hard to explain – but: Let’s say on a page you show 4 pictures. 2 of them are just single photos – the other 2 are really galleries/portfolios that appear when you click on the picture? Kind regards Julie

Dear Julie,

I think I understood what you mean, but I’m pretty sure that native WordPress functionality does not allow to create such “folded galleries”, neither do I know any plugins that do that. However, with the help of Kabuki’s built-in shortcodes you can achieve similar, if not exactly the same, effect: the JCAROUSEL shortcode creates a sliding gallery, and you can e.g. indicate that the gallery show only one image at a time in the viewport. On the page it will look like a mini-slider, and when clicked, it will display images in a lightbox overlay with possibility to navigate back and forth between them. I hope I was articulate enough :)

installed via wordpress installer, loading in “Kabuki_installable.zip”. the theme was installed successfully, however when i try to activate it i get the following error:

its actually hosed my copy of wordpress. i will have to delete and reinstall.

Dear Jkblack,

first of all, thank you for the purchase and my apologies for the bug!

You do not need to reinstall the entire thing just yet – please do the following: download this file from my repository, unzip it, and upload the contained php file into the following folder, using your ftp client: /wp-content/themes/Kabuki/includes/contact-form/ replacing the existing file.

Let me know if it works now.

I’ve purchased this theme and cannot get a backgroud to show on the blog using the NextGen gallery or any other means. I’ve been able to successfullly do this on all other pages of the site. Test site is at www.barktest.com/oneill.

Need help quickly as this is supposed to go live this week.

Could you please visit the “Display” tab of the “Appearance -> Background Slider” admin menu and check the “Homepage (of your blog)” option – and refresh the page in question. You can also try checking the “Everywhere” option if this suits your needs.

glad you’ve worked things out with the background!

To set the receiving email of a contact form, please go to the “Email notifications” tab of the contact form builder (the leftmost icon just above the content field in the page editor mode).

If you’ve already inserted the form, you can also manually add the address to the first brackets of the shortcode like this: [contact-form to:”email@email.com” subject=”Contact request”] The “subject=” declaration contains the template for the email titles.

I’m using your sample contact form so I’m assuming I just add the shortcode so it looks like the following?

I think the most efficient way to achieve the desired result is to remove the current shortcode and create the contact form anew using the contact form generator (the rightmost icon just above the text area editor). Note the “Email notifications” tab in the generator pop-up – there you can set up the recipient email address.

Thank you for expressing interest in my work!

There are several settings for menu appearance in Kabuki’s theme options panel; one of them lets you keep the menu open at all times. You can also force all menu items to be of equal width instead of fitting the text (you can see this effect if you make your browser window smaller). Those two settings can be combined in any of the four possible ways.

It should be fine if you add a bottom margin of at least 130px to the #main-body element – otherwise the logo will overlap the main content box on pages (e.g. here). A great way to experiment with layouts without editing the actual code is to open the website in Chrome and use the developer panel (right-click on the element and “Inspect Element”), where you can change the parts of CSS and HTML and see what happens with the website right away.

You’ll need to log into your ThemeForest account and go to your “Downloads” page. Locate the theme you purchased in your “Downloads” list and click on the “License Certificate” link next to the download link. After you have downloaded the certificate you can open it in a text editor such as Notepad and copy the Item Purchase Code.

God. I am having problem with slider in the background. It’s so weird. I went to option appearance->background slider. I checked all of them.I am displaying font page and can see slider working from images of media library. but dunno how to make my own images to work there.Is there any video tutorial do you have? Hi Satiordesign team. I don’t have a problem with background slider anymore, but now I have 2 big problems. I hope you can help me , otherwise I promised my boss to solve them.

First: Our company logo was too big for this theme.So I changed logo frame into 200×125 in css. After that , content area started overlapping logo. So I moved navigation area generally left:-128 into left:-208 in css. Problem that raised from this is that, website is not centered anymore. Resposnsive design on Ipad doesn’t work properly. I think if you can help me to center this, everything should function properly.

Second: I am trying to join support forum, but cannot find Item Purchase Code. I followed instruction there , but i think themeforest changed their interface little bit. Picture shown in your registration instruction is not same as themeforest interface anymore.

Please help me. :impatient:

first of all, thank you for the purchase, and my apologies for a slow response!

Let me address the issues you’ve raised in the same order:

1). The logo/content positioning: please provide the URL of the web page in question, I need to look at the code to ensure an efficient solution. Also, let me clarify: you’ve moved the logo and menu further to the left via css, and now you want the content to move as well? If not, what is your desired layout?

2). Thank you so much for bringing this up! Indeed, Envato have changed the interface of the Downloads tab. Please find the item you’ve purchased, press the brown “Download” button, and in the little pop-up submenu, choose “License Certificate”. This will download a text file to your machine containing the license information, and one of the lines will read “Item Purchase Code:” – this is what we’re after :) I’ve created a screenshot for you just in case, and also updated the registration page on my forum.

Thanks for reply. Yesterday I wanted to reply, but my website wasn’t live online. Now my website is online. So you can see what I changed and how bad it looks on Ipad. I cannot interact with this on Ipad at all. In desktop, it’s not centered anymore also. Please help me to solve this problem. Then you can save my life really well. I am begging you.

Here is the list of the codes that i changed:

Reason I started modifying code is that my boss wanted logo to look bigger. So I started changing the logo frame size and then content part was overlapping logo. So i moved logo and navigation to left side. Then Ipad doesn’t response properly on this. I cannot even see my menus at Ipad. In Ipad, logo is cut from the bottom also and cannot see half of it. I changed css in mobile menu, because after i modified coding , menus in mobile version was stuck with logo, then i made margin-top to make a space.

I hope u can find me best solution and can solve this problem.

Hey Bill,

as far as I can see from the code there is a problem with loading the jQuery library – have you modified any related code? So far the primary error I can identify is that the main menu is not being displayed, which is connected to the above mentioned issue. To troubleshoot this, I will need to ask you for the WordPress admin login/password as well as the ftp login/password – you can send those to support@satoristudio.net, as well as the entire list of changes you’ve made to javascript files, if any.
