Just a quick update. I’m optimising all the images in the next few hours and will if it makes it any faster. Currently PageSpeed (https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/) is giving me (85/100) in terms of how fast the theme is. I hopefully should get it past 90 tonight. I’ll keep you updated!

I’ve just got the site to 89/100 now, instead of 85/100. I’ve cut all the sizes down on the images, and if you can, enable Keep-Alive on your server, this should keep all the .js alive. Hope this helps, give it a few hours and the new version will be on ThemeForest.

Love the theme but before I purchase, quick question. When I did the live preview from my iPad the entire right sidebar did not show up.

The menu should move to the top of the screen with an option to move the dropdown down and up. The sidebar will not show on the right because the iPad’s resolution doesn’t fit to the Kahlam theme. So to fix that, I’ve made a menu at the top that is clickable and shows the pages and a few sidebar options.

I’m really concerned with the speed and mess of the code, even with a cdn, cloud flare, and w3 cache, i’m getting yslow scores of E or F, small blog D.

You really shouldn’t be concerned. The code is not a mess, it’s totally fine. PageSpeed (https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/) which is made by Google gives 84/100. This is without compressing all the high quality images on the demo. What I recommend is compressing all your images, and removing a few advertisements (as they’re producing images too) to speed up the process. If you don’t get any improved speed I’ll take a look if you like.
Im having trouble installing this WP theme in word press, i have searched through my files and i see where the instruction,markup, kahlam, psd’s and .ds_store is but when i got into the kahlam folder to look for the theme i dont see it. what should i do?

If you go into The ‘Kahlam’ folder, there will be another folder called ‘Kahlam’. The theme files should be in there.

hello, I went into all of the kahlam folders and in the folder where is has 404.php, archives.php, author.php and so on but i don’t see the theme in that list nowhere. i have tried downloading it again and i still don’t see the theme in there. ?

To change the excerpt length, you need to go into the functions.php file and change the code where it’s commented: // change excerpt length
Change it from return 91 to anything you like. In regards to your second question can you show me a screenshot?

The new style.css file is within the new files that you can download from your ThemeForest downloads area. Once you’ve downloaded the files, go into Kahlam > Kahlam and then style.css

I want to use thumbnail for featured image instead of the full width image. Where is the CSS and/or sizing for the featured image set?
You also have to actually save the file sizes. That’s the max it will go to, so save it smaller and it will work.
I edited the functions.php file and changed the size but it made no difference.

Love this theme, but when I install it, when I go to Appearance > Menus, it says the theme supports 0 menus. How do I replace the top and main navigation with WordPress custom menus?
