This is a very nice theme if you plan on using it in its original form. If you plan on modifying the theme other than css, be weary of purchasing this theme. I have run into Jquery & wordpress function limitations.

Hi There,

So sorry to hear you’ve run into issues adding custom javascript code.

All things are possible with code, so it’s likely just some minor adjustments needed for the custom code to function nicely.

We’re not currently available for custom coding work however if there are specific issue we’re happy to take a closer look at the custom code and try to provide guidance as to how to fix.

Feel free to contact us at any time via our HelpDesk, we’re always happy to help.

Being able to use the do_shortcode() wordpress function would be great so we could use shortcodes in the templates. I understand adding javascript can lead to conflicts. Trying to figure out which wordpress function one can use is frustrating.

TrueThemes

Hi There,

Yes Wordpress Themes don’t allow for PHP to be executed from within the visual content editor, however the PHP do_shortcode() function can indeed be added to one of Karma’s page templates for nice rendering.

If you prefer not to mess with the PHP page templates you might be interested in a PHP-execution plugin such as: http://wordpress.org/plugins/php-execution-plugin/

This plugin enables you to add PHP via the the Wordpress visual content editor.

Hope this is helpful my friend.

Cheers :)

I actually prefer to do it in the templates. When I tried it following wordpress codex and all other examples I could find, it would never render. I asked support and they said the theme didn’t support do_shortcode() function.

If you would be so kind to add a quick example to the knowledge base, that would be great! I followed the codex to a T.

TrueThemes

Sure thing my friend,

the do_shortcode() function is built into the Wordpress core so it’s supported by every wordpress theme.

Here’s a quick example that will hopefully help out:

Let’s say we want to hard-code the following shortcode into a page template: [one_half]

The do_shortcode PHP will look like so:
<?php echo do_shortcode('[one_half]'); ?>

(take note of the “echo” in the PHP statement….leaving this out is common error when using do_shortcode()

Please note that the most shortcodes in Karma are wrapped in a [raw] shortcode which strips the default wordpress formatting to ensure nice gorgeous shortcode rendering. If embedded directly into a page template the [raw] shortcode will simply be outputted (since not inserted via wordpress editor).

Some minor code modifications can take this out, but there are many options and all really depends on the desired output.

We’re unfortunately not currently available for custom coding work however if you’re in need of professional coding assistance we’ve got 2 highly trusted partners for all of your Wordpress customization needs. WPQuestions.com and Codeable.io

Hope this is helpful

Hence my original point.

TrueThemes

Hi There,

Another option might be to simply grab the HTML code and drop it into a page template.

Wordpress shortcodes are simply “shortcuts” which render HTML code into a page.

Let’s say you want to hard-code an accordion shortcode….

You can create a “test page” within Wordpress and drop in the accordion shortcode via the Wordpress content editor. You can then save the page and view it in the web browser.

Within the web browser simply “View Source” to see the generated HTML. Then grab the accordion HTML and hard-code it into a page template.

Hope this helps.

Cheers my friend :)

On my website, a plugin I use called Comprehensive Google Map Plugin, says that your theme uses a jQuery javascript library that is older than the version 1.3.0.

I love this plugin but I will have to disable for now until this is fixed.

Will the jQuery javascript library be updated soon?

Thanks!

Sure thing my friend.

This is a bug in google map plugin which conflicts with Wordpress 3.6

I am so glad that I chose the Karma theme over the other one’s I looked at. So far I have received numerous compliments from people who have seen my site and they all like how professional it looks. I have never “built” a site before so this was all very new. Through the ease of the theme as well as the various help videos that were shared, I was able to get it up and running in no time. However, there were a few technical difficulties due to my lack of knowledge, but the customer support staff was fantastic. They were quick to answer my questions and very thorough in making sure that I was satisfied. At one point they even went in a made the edits since I wasn’t having success. I honestly can’t say enough good things about Karma and TrueThemes!

TrueThemes

Thank you so very much my friend.

Hello, I have a couple of questions regarding the Karma WP template.

I may just have overlooked something, but I’m trying to alter the frame style in the jquery2 slider from modern to shadow. (I think it looks slightly off to have a modern frame inside a modern frame, so I want to check the other style out)

Any suggestions on how I go about this?

Also, as I am primarily running a blog, I am considering your guide to altering the slider to show posts. (brilliant explanation btw). Can I alter the above at the same time? (and again, how)

Thanks in advance, Karma is a seriously beautiful theme and apart from the above issue, I’ve had no problems getting it to work as I want. (And me being an absolute rookie in this field)

Kind regards,

Emiel

I’ll make that ticket right away. ;-)

Tbh, the most important thing for me, as we speak, is to figure out how to resize the Featured Image (in the blog) to the size used by the JQuery 2 slider, so the images can be shown there without being stretched…

(And yes, I made a ticked about it) ;-)

Hi – nice template. some short pre-sales qtns if you don’t mind.

I particularly like the Shop (WooCommerce) feature of the site. Some qtns on it : 1. Can I create Menu items for Shop Categories on Main Menu ? 2. How Many Shop Categories can i create ? 3. How does the Related Item slider work ? Ie can i define & set my own related items or is it non-customisable ? 4. Can i simply use the wooCommerce for email orders instead of on-line purchase ?

Thanks.

TrueThemes

Thanks so much for your Karma interest my friend.

As per your questions:

1. Yes. When adding pages there is a box which contains all of the WooCommerce product categories. You will simply add the categories to the menu in the same that pages are added.

2. WooCommerce can contain an unlimited amount of categories.

3. There are a variety of ways to link products within the WooCommerce platform. Here’s an article outlining complete details: http://docs.woothemes.com/document/related-products-up-sells-and-cross-sells/

4. Yes. You can choose to not add a price to a WooCommerce product and the “Add to Cart” button will say “Read More” and link the users to the product detail page. You can then feature a link or a form on the product details page instructing your users how to place orders.

Please give us a shout if there’s anything else we can do to assist.

Hello. I am trying to make the iPhone image on a contact page a clickable image. It is within the background of the page using the main css.

Any idea how to do this; to make just the image clickable, not the entire background? I want to make a link to a google map.

Thanks!

TrueThemes

Hi There my friend,

There are a few ways to go about this however will require a bit of code customization.

The simplest method is likely to use JavaScript to make the ” smartphone div” a clickable link.

We’re unfortunately not available for custom coding work however here are some details to help you along the way. If you’re in need of additional coding assistance we’ve got 2 highly trusted partners for all of your Wordpress customization needs. WPQuestions.com and Codeable.io

Steps for making clickable div:

- Connect to your website via FTP

- Open up the contact PHP page template in the code editor of your choice. File is located in: /wp-content/themes/Karma/template_contact_iphone.php

- Scroll to line 28 and change this code…..

div class="smartphone-wrap"

.....to this:

div class="smartphone-wrap" onclick="document.location='http://www.yoursite.com'"

Hope this information is helpful my friend.

AWESOME!

With this one word I sum up my experience with the Karma theme by Truethemes so far. The theme itself is not only well thought out and highly modifiable, it is also aesthetically pleasing and professional.

As for the training videos, they pretty much summarize all the basics you need to know, to get the theme up and running. Not only that, once you start tweaking it this and that way, you’ll find yourself grateful for the ability to easily go back and re-watch part of whatever subject you need assistance on.

Naturally, not everything is sorted out in the videos, that’s why Truethemes has an extensive knowledgebase filled with clever solutions and workarounds, whenever you just want to add that something, the theme doesn’t naturally have…

But of course, even the knowledgebase will be finite in its knowledge, based upon the past experiences of others and written in terms that might not be exactly right for you and your site.

Enter the HelpDesk and Truethemes absolutely epic level of one-to-one support.

I had an issue I really, really needed solving, since my entire site pretty much stood or fell with it. I looked everywhere and tried everything to no avail. Finally, I posted in the HelpDesk and asked them to help me with my rather complicated problem.

One day and eight posts later, my problem was history and I am left here trying to explain exactly what that feeling’s like.

The only word I can think of…

Awesome, absolutely awesome.

Hi there, would like to present this theme to my Client. But I need clarifications on the following:

1) Is there a secure “Login Page” option? I couldn’t tell 2) The “Search Field” option, is that internal or does it uses Google as the search feature? 3) is a Google Map feature for multiple office location on the Contact Page? They like to see a pop up when clicked on the location.

Please let me know soon. Thank you.

TrueThemes

Hi There,

Thank you so much for your interest in the Karma Theme my friend.

As per your questions:

1. Yes all Wordpress themes have ability for secure login page.

2. Search is the default Wordpress Search Engine.

3. The Google Map feature only includes single location however there are a vast variety of plugins to suit multiple locations. A quick Google search for “wordpress multiple google map” will give you a better idea about some of the available options.

Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to assist.

I bought this theme two days ago and I am quite furious with it actually. Having bought other themes from themeforest in the past, this one definitely disappointed me.

The first problem I came across is that the logo I uploaded would show a broken image after an hour or so of uploading it. In the beginning, it’s fine and it’s there but now it’s gone. I got really mad when in addition to this, the photo uploader stopped working last night. I kept trying to upload photos but it would just give me broken images… Pasting the url link for featured images is fine, but that’s not how I would like to upload my images.

I would like to post a ticket on the support page but I also just can’t find the purchase number from my Download link. If someone can help me asap and solve my problem, I will greatly appreciate it. All this has caused me great stress..

TrueThemes

Hi There,

Truly sorry to hear you’ve run into issues with the Karma theme.

Both items you’ve mentioned are not the default functioning of the theme so there is likely a very simple solution. We’ll just need to take a closer peak behind the scenes of your website to determine what’s causing the issue and provide best solution.

The Item Purchase Code is located within the Downloads section here on ThemeForest. Here is a graphic to guide you where to find this code: http://s3.truethemes.net/helpdesk/item-purchase-code.png

If still unable to locate the Purchase Code we’re very happy to manually setup your Support Account. Please shoot us an email with desired email address and desired password for your account (password can be changed within TrueThemes Support Dashboard). info@truethemes.net

We’ll get you all squared away ASAP.
