Hi, Thanks for the theme. It is very nice. As I do not need the portfolio, how can I keep Google and others from indexing it. Or how can I remove the portfolio-item section? Thanks

Hi,

Thank you!

In functions.php delete this line:
include_once(MNKY_GLOBAL . '/portfolio.php');

It will remove portfolio post type.

Thank you!

Hey there.

I was wondering where can I find the code to remove the ‘Read More’ link from the blog.

Hi,

Code is located in content-*.php files (for example conten-image.php):

<?php if (!is_single()) { ?>
<a class="post-link" href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>"><?php _e( 'Read more', 'kickstart' ) ?></a>
<?php } ?>

Thank you!

Is It possible to insert a video instead of a slides, on the home page under the header?

Hi,

Yes, you can add videos in slider to create video slider, or just use the slider as video player/background. You can also replace slider with anything you want :)

Thanks!

Hello MNKY, nice theme. I have a two questions:

1. Default blog thumbnails have size 288px to 160px (Latest Post Thumbnails). I want to change this size to 288px to 194px (another proportion). How i can do this? (“Settings -> Media” – not work). And same problem in blog (http://prntscr.com/68umxg)

2. Theme options have “Primary theme color”. For example: red color. Than all links have style: Default color (all links in text) – black / on hover color – red. Question: How to swap the colors? Default color (all links in text) – red / on hover color – black.

Thanks

Hi,

1. Thumbnail size is controlled in settings/media, like you said. Blog images have different size from what you mentioned. It can be modified in content-image.php by changing this line:

img src="'. aq_resize( $thumb_url, '650', '270', true )

650 is the width and 270 is height. Change 270 to size you like.

2. Dynamic styles are controlled in dynamic-styles.php. I would suggest using custom css instead of modifying the file, like this:
a {color:red !Important;}
a:hover {color:black !Important;}
But note that it will affect link colors globally. You can add more specific classes and do not use important then.

Thank you!

Hi there,

I love your theme :) I have one question and one suggestion.

Question:I checked “Responsive layout only for smartphones” on theme option. I though It works great until I found that on desktop the normal primary menu is not shown when the browse size is 768~978px. where I can change the code and how?

Suggestion: I wish theme option had the import and export function. :D. I tried using wordpress import plug-in, but the theme option didn’t export at all.

That’s all.

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

1. It is done on purpose, so tablet users have an option to view website in desktop mode (when they switch to landscape) and in tablet mode (when they switch to portrait).

To change that you will have to modify two files: inc/stylesheet/responsive-all.css one line ~6 AND ~20 change 979 to 1024.

inc/js/mobile-menu.js change 979 to 1024.

2. There is exporting option for theme settings, which is hidden, however it can be enabled. Here is a thread from our old support forums: http://mnkystudio.com/forum-2/discussion/767

Thank you!

Thank you so much for your quick response! Im so sorry that I brought one more question. While I was trying to fix, I faced this issue of mine. I just made child theme to fix resposive.all and mobilemenu.js in the right way. I imported stylesheet easily but I can’t import others such as responsive.css and mobilemenu.js.

I’ve been trying to add some codes in funtion.php to enqueue files. I read http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes this. But I still can’t figure out how to write the codes. Can you write some codes for my child theme funtion.php so that I can fix these files?

Best, Myonghui

You can not overwrite javascript file, you can remove it and add new one using something like this:
function myscript_fix()
{
    wp_dequeue_script( 'mobile-menu' );
    wp_enqueue_script( 'child_mobile-menu', get_stylesheet_directory_uri() . '/scripts/yourjs.js', array( 'jquery' ) );
}
add_action( 'wp_enqueue_scripts', 'my_script_fix', 100  );
Similar with CSS:
function mystyle_fix()
{
    wp_dequeue_style( 'responsive-css' );
    wp_enqueue_style( 'child_responsive-css', get_stylesheet_directory_uri() . '/css/responsive-all.css', array('dynamic-style'), '', 'all');
}
add_action( 'wp_enqueue_scripts', 'mystyle_fix', 100  );

Thank you!
