dschnare Purchased

Hey Tyler,

I just purchased this template and I really like it. However, I had to change the CSS because it wasn’t laying-out correctly in IE6 (with and without quirks mode enabled) (had the same layout issues in IE7 ).

Also, the pngfix wasn’t being initialized properly like described in step 3. on the pngfix website ( http://jquery.andreaseberhard.de/pngFix/ ). Having said that, after properly initializing the pngfix I discovered that there must be a dependency on jQuery 1.3.2 because the template had been using jQuery 1.6.1 and the pngfix wasn’t being initialized due to script errors. So I downloaded jQuery 1.3.2, as was described on the pngfix website and this time the pngfix initialized just fine without any script errors. However, after the pngfix was initialized properly all the PNG images were stretched.

So to remedy this I tried changing the browser list layout slightly so that it didn’t use < h2 > elements thereby permitting the icon and the text to be clickable (an improved design) and I tried inserting the icons using < img > elements with a fixed width and height instead of setting a background image on an < h2 >. This solved the image stretching issues with the browser icons, but I still couldn’t figure out why the “update to something better” image was being stretched inconsistently when I refreshed the page.

So, after all this I decided to scrap the pngfix all together and just save all PNG images as GIF with a matte colour very close to the background I chose for the main theme. This obviously fixed all my issues.

Testing goes a long way in making your customers happy and making you not look like an ass. Please test your stuff thoroughly before releasing. Clearly this template was not actually tested in IE6 . I know, I don’t have IE6 either, but all I had to do was open a free account at BrowserStack.com and voila! I had one hour of free browser testing time. I only used 9 minutes of testing to fix this template.

Its $3 bro…

TylerQuinn, it’s not a question of money, you write things that you should not write. As you can see, people are not so stupid.

About my question, you didn’t take the time to answer it.

Just forget it.

Doesnt really make any sense?

You asked if the visitor can be redirected if they are using IE6 , the template includes BOTH javascript and PHP code snippets to do so…. All of which is stated in the items description. Not sure what you mean by “people are not so stupid” as it seems everyone else found the information just fine.

If it took 9 minutes to fix what is the big deal? I mean you spent 3 dollars on a php and javascript snippet that would of taken you a couple hours if you had to do it yourself. We don’t live in a perfect world people, and things don’t always work as we want them to. GET OVER IT and stop crying.

Is it easy to add 2 more text-spaces, under the other 2? Or 1 text-space, and 1 video-space?

Yes, technically you can add whatever you want ;)

Haha love the idea Tyler! :)

But you are bit too nice… thinking of buying it and changing the text Liam Neeson style:

I don’t know who you are. I don’t know why you are using IE6 . You are stuck in the past, and its time to upgrade. And if you don’t want to upgrade, let me tell you, I have a very particular set of skills; skills that I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you upgrade to another browser now, that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will force you to upgrade.

Should screen cap this and put it on reddit!, thank you for potential karma my friend :)

Love the idea!

Thank you!

How can I make this work for all versions of Internet Explorer?

What do you mean? It currently has options for all outdated versions of the browser.
