Hi Rich, It’s perfect for what i need to do, but i have a problem.

I need that theme has the possibility of creating landing pages of my services:

graphic design, web design and packaging for example, in this way I can generate a seo strategy and attract more traffic to my site.

Thanks. G!

did someone make the services section?

ThemeBeans

Hey G, what services section are you referring to on Koi? Koi does not have a set widget/plugin to display services.

Hi Rich, in “Portfolio Setting” I’ve limit the “Portfolio Template Count” to 20. Now I’d like to see the Portfolio Filter page with all the portfolio items and not only the 20 items visible in my homepage… how can i do? Thank you very very very much!

ThemeBeans

Hey there! Sorry I missed your comment here.

If you have not already discovered, you can set “-1” as your template count, which will pull all your portfolio posts. :)

Everytime I add a page in (like an about us page) it replaces the homepage gridded layout.. im not sure why but its [language] annoying

ThemeBeans

Let’s be professional with the language here. I’m going to have to flag this comment. Please contact us at the Bean Help Center with some details and a URL – I can’t tell what’s going on without any information :)

Also, try turning off any external plugins of the sort – to make sure one of those is not causing the error.

i have fixed it.. sorry about the language… i was going menta haha… it was my fault anyway. On my iphone when I scroll the scroll does no flick (if you know what I mean). If I scroll with touch and take my finger off the screen it will instantly stop and not continue to to scroll naturally after releasing my finger. Any ideas?

ThemeBeans

No problem – it happens :)

Sure, just add “-webkit-overflow-scrolling: touch;” like this screenshot of style.css: http://thmbns.co/Uwpg

best theme man! thanks so much :) ... hopefully my new portfolio will get me some new work! Also one more question.. .you know the little icons that appear top right when you go into the port folio… there is an icon there with four sqaures… how do i change the link for this?

ThemeBeans

Glad you like it!

You should be able to set that link via the Theme Customizer > Portfolio Settings. Here’s a screenshot: http://thmbns.co/UycM

Hi,

I remember you mentioning that there is an automatic retina display on this theme. I read that adding @2x before the extension will allow for retina quality, is that correct? If not, how do I activate the retina allowance and do I have to display my images at twice the size? If so, does it matter if the extension is a jpg or png?

Thanks,

Ashley

ThemeBeans

Hey Ashley, Koi does indeed use retina.js to handle retina images and you’re dead right on the @2x (just make sure the different images are in the same image directory). You can turn it on/off via the Theme Customizer, in the Theme Settings tab (screenshot:http://thmbns.co/Uzq6). You don’t have to use retina.js, and it’s ok to use jpg and png files, though jpg will be considerably smaller.

Hope this helps :)

2nd attempt… didn’t get a reply the first time:

How can I change the color of the text for the “Title” and “Tagline” ? I want them both to be white.

I found the html for the background color in “Koi: Stylesheet (style.css)” but can’t find where to edit the text color. Please point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

I also need to change the color of the menu icon.

ThemeBeans

Hey Blake! Do apologize for that! Unfortunately some comments get washed in the mix if there’s a lot of activity here. Here’s some guidance for you:

1. You’ll want to use the following CSS to change those colors. I separated them in case you wanted to have different colors for both:

.site-description {
color: #FFF!important;
}

.logo h1 {
color: #FFF!important;
}

2. You’ll need to edit the source file sprite.psd – and replace the sprite.png file in assets/images/ to change the icon’s color. You’ll also need to @2x the new sprite.png file, so that it displays correctly on retina capable devices.

Cheers! Rich

Thanks!!! I was able to change the colors on the title and tagline. I’ve been messing around with that for a while.

Now… I know that you guys generally don’t do custom stuff like this but is there ANY way you would consider helping me change the color of the menu button (and “X”) to white?

I am afraid that your description above is beyond my ability, but its critical to my site. The current colors (white text on black) match the store front of the client I am building the site for. And obviously the menu button needs to contrast.

Very much appreciated! :)

ThemeBeans

Hey Blake, if I customized the sprite files for you, then I’d have to do open that option to everyone else – which would not be practical to us, or fair to others if I did not.

You can however download a Photoshop Trial and simply select the menu layer and change it’s color value to white instead of the current setup. :)

Ok, I’ve been able to change everything except the background color of the MOBILE header. Where is that code?

Thanks!

(I even figured out how to change the sprite files!)

ThemeBeans

Awesome! Glad out figured out the sprite works!

You’ll need to use this CSS: #mobile-header {background-color: #222!Important;}

Hi there, just purchased your theme and realised that the Slideshows (the bullet-points) don’t work with Mac Chrome 34.0.1847.116. Hope you provide an update for this ;) btw: i realised this problems also with your other themes, so ths might be a common bug with the provided Slideshow-Plugin. Could you please give me a hint, how to fix this? Thanks in advance zZz

ThemeBeans

Hey mate, I’m using Mac Chrome 34.0.1847.116 as well and getting the slider bullets to display (screenshot: http://thmbns.co/V9pJ). Not sure what could be exclusive to your computer, but I’ll investigate.

Rich

Thanks for you reply. The slider bullets are displayed, for sure, but i can’t jump to eg slide 2 of 4 by clicking on bullet 2. Just my computer or intention?

ThemeBeans

No that’s not the intention. I’m able to click through them on my dev Mac and PC machines. I’ll have the guys take another look at it though.

Hi,

Is it possible to speed up the wp-admin login and logout page time? After installing this theme, it takes quite awhile to login and logout.. I checked the plugins I’ve installed and it’s got not nothing to do with them.

Thanks

ThemeBeans

Hey Molliu, it could be the Bean Portfolio Plugin updater class (common issue on a couple hosts/PHP versions). Head into bean-portfolio.php and change the “true” to “false” on line 36 (screenshot: http://thmbns.co/VOEy).

Let me know if that helps!

Hi ThemeBeans,

I appreciate your prompt response. I checked the bean-portfolio.php file and it is already set at false :/ Would you happen to know what else could be the issue?

Thanks!

ThemeBeans

Try any other plugins of ours as well (most have that functionality). If that doesn’t fix it, then do the same thing in functions.php (http://thmbns.co/VOCM).

If neither works, then I’m afraid it’s outside the realm of Koi/Bean Plugins.

Hi Rich,

I have figured out the issue. The problem is because of my Macbook Pro and I guess this is not a big deal.

A big thumbs up for great customer service!

ThemeBeans

Awesome! Hope you can get that fixed! If you haven’t already, I’d super appreciate it if you would take a quick second to rate Koi via your downloads page.

Cheers! Rich

Will do :)

Sorry I have one more question. How do I make my project images at full width when I click on a project to see all of the images? I can’t seem to fix mine. My images are all centered in the middle of the screen with white gaps in between each image.

ThemeBeans

Are you adding your images via the Gallery metabox below the post editor?

Default-user
moliu Purchased

No wonder why! I was adding the images manually by code . When I upload the images through the gallery metabox, everything is perfect the way I want it to.

Thank you so much

ThemeBeans

Bah! It happens I suppose! :)

Thanks so much for the help so far!

I just have a couple more issues. Here is my site: www.blakeweber.us

I asked about changing the color of the Menu logo and you told me:

“You’ll need to edit the source file sprite.psd – and replace the sprite.png file in assets/images/ to change the icon’s color. You’ll also need to @2x the new sprite.png file, so that it displays correctly on retina capable devices.”

I actually figured out how to do this! HOWEVER… I can only find the “sprite@2x.png” file and not the “sprite.png” file.

So I was able to change the color of the icon for mobile devices but not for a computer screen.

Issue #2: Can you please point out the html to change the background color for the title/tagline when viewed on MOBILE? It looks great on a computer! White text on a black background (just how my client wants it) but you cant see the title on a mobile device because it is white on white.

Thanks again for all the help!

ThemeBeans

Hey Blake, in the future do you mind writing us via the Help Center – it’s much easier and faster to get you help.

The sprite.png file is actually one folder up from the retina version – in assets/images/.

For your second question, you could use the following CSS:

#mobile-header {
background-color: #FFFFFF!important;
}

Cheers!

Hey I really dig this theme and have 2 questions as I’m building out with it:

1 – how can I add padding between images similar to your other themes?

2 – just a bump on suggestions i’ve seen made here: either a “See More” type of link at the bottom of the portfolio to load more portfolio posts – even at the cost of having the filterable functionality. And/or and infinite scroll element.

ThemeBeans

Hey Babalucas, Glad you’re liking it!

1. It’s a little tricky, but you may be able to pull it off by adding padding to the .isotope-item class.

2. We have been tossing around the idea of doing a load more posts feature add-on with Koi. We broke some ground with this functionality on a theme to be released soon – so I think we’re going to update Koi with that after a few tests. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hey is there anyway to make the project tiles on the home page bigger?

ThemeBeans

Yup, you could target the #isotope-container li a div.overlay h4 CSS element and modify it’s font-size. It’s on line 1861 of style.css as well.

Cheers!

I cannot get the lightbox magnifying icon to appear on newly created portfolio items on the main portfolio page, regardless of the settings. I can turn the like icon off and on, but enabling the the potfolio lightbox under portfolio settings does nothing. Older posts, those created before the theme was installed, have the icon until they are updated. New posts don’t show it at all. Any ideas? http://paull.co look at leffot for example. WP, plugins, theme, etc… are all current.

ThemeBeans

Hey Paul, it looks like you’re adding the images into the content post editor block, instead of the Gallery input located below the portfolio post editor (screeny: http://thmbns.co/VzY0). If you add your images there, then they will be populated within the lightbox magnifying glass.

Hope that makes sense! Rich

Default-user
paullco Purchased

Actually, I hadn’t added any images, they were already there having been added prior to switching themes. You are correct though, after updating a post, the functionality was lost because of how the images were initially added. I’ve turned the feature off, as it’s not currently worth the time to recreate all 30 portfolio items, but thanks for letting me know why it was happening.

ThemeBeans

Awesome – glad we nailed that!

Hi Rich,

Is there a way to resize portfolio items in the gallery? For instance at the moment the images in my gallery are set to fit the width of the screen, but this doesn’t really work as it makes this images incredibly long. Is there a way to view the portfolio as a grid similar to how the homepage looks?

Thanks!

Prior to installing your theme, I always used contact form 7. I never received a single spam email via my website. Since installing your theme, I receive on average 2-3 spam emails a day. Any ideas what’s going on?

Apologies for the double post, please reply here.

ThemeBeans

Hey Paul, the theme/contact form 7 plugin do not play a part in the relative spam you receive – unless you have a captcha turned on (which does relieve much of it). If you’re seeing a surge in spam you may have recently been targeted; and once a spambot finds out it can send messages – then it keeps going.

Hi. How can I can make the project tiles on the home page bigger and bold? I read the answer to another user who was wondering the same thing “you could target the #isotope-container li a div.overlay h4 CSS element and modify it’s font-size. It’s on line 1861 of style.css as well”

But please, I am new in programming, You could please paste the code that I have to put in there. I would appreciate it a lot!

ThemeBeans

Hey bud – sure, no problem. Simply add this to either your Custom CSS section (in the Theme Customizer) or to style.css (anywhere would work).

#isotope-container li a div.overlay h4 {
     font-size: 18px!important;
     font-weight: bold!important;
}

Hope this helps! Rich
