hi there, fantastic looking theme!

any plans for woocommerce integration?

if not, any suggestions on how to implement a cart status (ie 1 item in cart) in the nav bar?

ThemeBeans

Thanks Sharif – Krative is one of my personal favorites :)

At the moment there are no plans for WooCommerce integration. I’d imagine you can display the cart status via a shortcode, in which case you could add a do_shortcode function to the header.php file in the navigation.

Hi there,

Is it possible in the portfolio widget, to create a mixed media post type. One where you can show a video with images below?

Otherwise this would be a great function to implement in an update.

Hey there, it’s not possible without a decent bit of coding but it’s an idea for sure. Thanks :)

A post with multiple video’s would be a good option too. It would greatly improve the portfolio plugin!

ThemeBeans

Good idea :)

Rich

Is it possible to have a button trigger a popup?

Thanks Rich!

I’m using the Bean Shortcode Plugin… but not sure exactly what you mean by “modal shortcode” Could you briefly explain?

I tried putting the popup short code into the link section of the button… but was unsuccessful.

Thanks!

ThemeBeans

Ahh gotcha. Yea that’s one of the limitations of the current shortcode plugin. I do have an update in motion that’s going to powerup the plugin – as well as a modal geared plugin in the works.

Thanks Rich. Looking forward to that update!

Great theme. Only one question before I purchase – on mobile devices the portfolio page does not display the sortable/filter bar. Is this something that should be in display?

ThemeBeans

Thanks mate. I added a class to hide that from mobile view mostly because filtering jquery on mobile devices is pretty wonky and does not achieve the same effect as on desktop machines. It’s possible to display it by removing that class, but I would not suggest it from a UX standpoint.

Cheers! Rich

Quick question… there are plugins that will dynamically serve retina resolution images… could you recommend a plugin that will work with post & portfolio images in Krative? Or are there any plans for including that functionality?

Thanks Rich!

ThemeBeans

Hey there, Krative actually comes packaged with Retina.js, which takes your uploaded @2x image and replaces the normal res version whenever there’s one available in the same directory.

That’s great! THANK YOU!

No problem, anytime :)

Quick question for you guys: newsletter widget. Out of the box, is there any form validation? And are subscriber addresses sent anywhere out of the box? Or is that something I need to hookup in the backend?

Let me know. Thanks.

ThemeBeans

Hey there.

I have a quick article here that runs over the newsletter plugin a bit more. Don’t mind the mess – we had some server errors and are working to clean the help center back up.

WordPress 3.8 just released. Do you have to apply some patches to make Krative compatible? Or is it good to go?

ThemeBeans

Yup, it’s there in the Theme Customizer, right above where you upload the logo. Here’s a screenshot of it: http://thmbns.co/Sw7c

Great. Thanks! Let me know when those updates have been installed. Cheers.

ThemeBeans

It’s uploaded, just awaiting it’s approval :)

Rich

For me this doesn’t show on Safari on Mac, the same happens when I visit your website and try and browse themes and plug ins. On Chrome it’s ok.

ThemeBeans

Hey mate, what do you mean it doesn’t show? I’m able to pull it just alright on Safari and Chrome (Mac/Windows). Maybe clear you cache?

Cheers! Rich

Hi,

Just a note to say I’m seeing the same issue as WebStormUK when going to this URL: http://demo.themebeans.com/?theme=Krative

Firefox 24.0 on Windows 7 (64 bit)

It must be to do with the responsive preview buttons because the desktop version is squashed into a window at the top with scroll bars on the right. Here’s a screenshot

When I switch to Tablet or Mobile view the entire site is visible in a full window and works correctly.

Demo works fine at http://demo.themebeans.com/krative

Hope that helps.

ThemeBeans

That could be the case. I’ll look into it. Thanks :)

Hi! I´ve got a little problem setting the home slide. I have an image as background that i would like it to be static and other content over this image that i would like to move with the slide http://www.leplato.es

I don´t know if it is possible to do it, I would appreciate any help. By the way, the theme looks and works great!

Thanks!

ThemeBeans

Hey there. Your best bet would be to add in your image via CSS to the following element, like such for starters:

.bean-home-viewport { background-image: url(images/bg.jpg); }

...with bg.jpg being an image you uploaded into the assets/images folder. Then remove your custom BG slider images on each slide.

I have tried it but the background image doesn’t appear and the area is filled with the “Header background color”. I will keep trying. Let me know if you have any other tips. Thanks

ThemeBeans

Did you remove the header bg color?

Any idea why your theme doesn’t seem to be serving Font Awesome 4.0 icons after the latest version update?

ThemeBeans

Hey Styx2109, no I don’t know. I actually have Font Awesome loaded in the shortcodes plugin. Are you loading the font as well, or just adding the content without the font loaded?

You still need to load the font stylesheet, or add them to the theme’s stylesheet before the fonts will work.

Hi there,

Has a price plan plugin been created for this theme yet?

Thanks

ThemeBeans

Hey there, yup we have the Bean Pricing Tables plugin example on this page here: http://demo.themebeans.com/koi/bean-pricing-tables/

Hi there,

Quick question. Is there a possibility in this theme to create a separate page (next to the portfolio page) which show (a) a gallery of pictures other than the portfolio and (b) with a new sidebar which is different than the internal/ hidden sidebar (i.e. in which other widgets can be shown).

I currently have the portfolio page set up, but need an additional page to show other information using images with some text accompanied (and the possibility to include a link), hence a gallery function.

Hope to hear from you soon Thanks. Martin

Rich,

Thanks for your response. Another quick question. I try to use the popup shortcode within the Home Intro Wdiget but this is not working. I first prepared the shortcode within an empty page (and tested if it was working) and then copied the shortcode into the widget. No luck there (the homepage shows the complete shortcode written out…) Do I need to add something to this code? Thanks Martin

Default-user

Rich, i saw an answer on a comment which was posted later on. Already had a change to look at my follow up question above? Thanks so much. Regards, martin

ThemeBeans

Alrighty, sounds good. I’m investigating the modal shortcode within the text widget itself. I think I know of a workaround for it.

Rich

Hi Rich, I was hoping you could tell me what file holds the entry-meta fields for blog posts.

Thanks & Congratulations on the launch of the new theme… it looks great.

ThemeBeans

Hey there, the entry meta is called from the lib/functions/theme-functions.php file (line 83). Here’s a screenshot: http://thmbns.co/TDIB

Thanks for the kudos on Koi :)

Hi Rich,

Can I change the color of the icon for the hidden sidebar, as shown in the header navigation menu (and as shown on the mobile devices)? Because I have changed the header background to white, the (hidden) menu icon is not visible.

Thanks Martin

ThemeBeans

Ah yes you’ll need to change the sprite.png file. You can access the source file in the package/sources folder. Don’t forget to save a retina version as well, after you’ve changed the color of that icon. Once you add those files in the /assets/images folder, you’ll be all set.

Cheers, Rich

Hi there. I’ve changed my header to be white. Is there a piece of code I can include in the custom css section to change the color of the minimized menu icon (for smartphone and tablet screen sizes)? Right now, it’s defaulted to white and is currently invisible when accessed on a smartphone device.

ThemeBeans

Hey mate, you’ll need to edit the sprite.png and sprite@2x.png file in assets/images/ in order to mod that there. I have included the source file for the sprite (and all others) in the Krative Package/Sources file, where you can open it up and modify the color there.

Rich

Hi Rich,

It seems that on one of my pages, which is setup based on the Homepage template, the homepage ‘testimonial widget’, the homepage ’ Recent Portfolio’ and the homepage ‘Action call’ widget are not showing up on a iphone in landscape (i.e. holding the iphone horizontally). Holding the iphone in the upright position, this problem does not appear. Any ideas what may cause this? The website is http://www.justbymanon.nl/advertentieplaatsen.

Thanks Martin

ThemeBeans

Hey Martin, I’m not able to reproduce that. I do see that the page changes height once you change orientation, so you may need to scroll up or down to see it. What version of iOS are you using?

Rich

Default-user

Rich, I have an iphone 5 with the latest version of iOS 7.0.4

Default-user

BTW, I now see what you mean. When scrolling down you do not see it at first, but you need scroll up and down. Thanks

Rich,

Again couple of questions to see if is caused by me, using plugins, or the theme:

- I got the remark of some readers of my website (justbymanon.nl) that not all of the menu buttons in the main header nav are working in their IE (internet explorer). Is this a familiar problem and if so, how can I solve this? - The page I have prepared based on the homepage template (http://www.justbymanon.nl/advertentieplaatsen./) is not working properly at some of my readers (‘seems to be blank page….’ and ’ text is showing outside of my screen..). What do you think is causing this? - Is it possible to have the social icons from your Beans widget to open in a new window? I want to keep the visitors also on my site.

Thanks for you help on this.

Regards, Martin

ThemeBeans

Hey Martin, do you know what version of IE they are viewing/you are experiencing this with? I’ll do some investigating on it.

You could edit the bean-social.php file (line 232 – screenshot: http://thmbns.co/TF1z) and add a target=”_blank” to the a href there, in order to make them open up in different pages.

Rich

Default-user

Rich, thanks. it is IE version 9.08. Could you have a look at that? He still confirmed it was not working (i.e. not all of the menu buttons).

Hi Rich,

We just went with our new agency website using your theme and it looks great. I do have a question, on the portfolio listing page, (page-portfolio-3col-filter.php) the posts are repeating themselves. And some posts don’t show up. Please help.

Here is the link to that page. http://www.webcoursesagency.com/portfolios/

Thanks

ThemeBeans

Yikes, that’s very odd behavior indeed. Do you mind resending this comment through our Support Center with your XML data, so I can try and replicate the issue on my dev build?

We’ll get it sorted! BTW, loving what you’ve done with the header especially – looks so good!
