Beautiful theme! One question? Is it possible to have the gallery on a separate page from homepage? And, if so is there an example of such, so I could get a better idea before purchasing?

Thanks so much!

Hi!

What is the best resolution or ratio for portfolio’s thumbnails please?

Regards.

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

Portfolio thumbnails – 400×300px

Portfolio slides – 1170×600px

Cheers! :)

Thanks a lot, it’s perfect!

tommusrhodus

Awesome! :)

I’m absolutely in love with this theme, and have put it to use on my own site (link below). One question: On pages on the site, the page title that displays in the browser seems to be missing the site name.

Example is this page which displays a page title of just “Brand & Content | ” without displaying the site name to the right of the |

http://capitalnarratives.com/brand/

Am I doing something wrong? A minor but somewhat significant detail for me.

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

You’re not doing anything wrong, and you’re right, this is a major detail. I’m actually working on an update today and this will be one of the addressed tweaks made to the theme :)

Cheers!

Hi there!

Just wondering how we can apply different background images to the different pages/sections (similar to the ‘The Dribble Shots’ & ‘Get In Touch’ sections in your live preview)?

Thank you! :)

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

Those sections use a built in ‘parallax’ template, which can be selected as the page is published.

Cheers!

Ah… Then set it as a featured image…! Got it, thank you so much! :)

Hi, love this theme – I hope you can answer a quick question I need to sort before purchasing it.

Is it possible to reduce to zero (or remove) the sliding scroll effect when the user clicks to a different section? So that we jump sections rather than scroll.

Thanks!

tommusrhodus

Hey there, yeah :)

In /js/scripts.js in the theme files lives this:

$('.scroll,.nav-collapse .nav').localScroll({
        offset: {top:-90, left:0}
    });

Changing it to:

$('.scroll,.nav-collapse .nav').localScroll({
        offset: {top:-90, left:0},
        duration: 0
    });

Does as you ask :) cheers!

Hello! I have a question about the best way to update. Is it safe to: 1. deactivate Kyte theme (by activating the default one). 2. delete Kyte theme. 3. upload new zip file. I mean, do you keep our custom data somewhere in the theme folder?

After using the theme for some days, I really love it. I just keep thinking that maintaining the sticky menu on top for small screens (mobile or even maybe vertical iPad) is taking too much space. Is there a way that I can edit the CSS for those reduced screen sizes and reset the menu to scroll normally?

Thanks a lot. Regards.

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

If you’ve not modified the theme files, the easiest way is just to overwrite the theme via FTP :)

As for the header, there’s a bit of CSS and .js to play with here, but I’ll see if this is something I can add as a future theme option.

Great thanks for the quick answer :)

SO happy to have come across your theme! I have just spent WAY too much time on a bad theme….way, way too much time.

Two questions: Where do I change the navigation inactive item colour? It’s a really sallow grey and I’d like it be white

http://cheddaheads.ca/

Second question, can I make the navigation menu font larger?

Thanks so much for making a truly responsive one page theme! yay!

tommusrhodus

No problem, instead try going to “appearance” => “editor”, click on custom CSS in the right hand list (it’s at the bottom) and paste it in there.

Make sure to clear your browser cache if you’re not seeing the changes reflected on the front of your site, I’ve just tested the above method and can confirm it’s working a treat :)

Cheers

BrendaSarg

Yup, perfect! Thank you!

tommusrhodus

No problem, just make sure to backup your custom.css file when you update the theme, I’ll never add anything to it so you’re always free to just paste your custom css straight back in there after a theme update.

Cheers

Can you tell me if there’s a way to add any sort of spam prevention method to the contact form template? I created the site yesterday from the ground up [new domain], and I’ve already received 20+ spam emails. My guess is it’s coming from that contact section and I don’t see a way of adding to the contact options in the contact page.

michelenicolette

I used formatting with the text blocks but it aligns all the text to the center if its set to the Parallax template. If I keep it as default template, it looks perfect but there’s no background despite having a featured image set.

tommusrhodus

Fair enough :) I’m planning a minor update to the theme this week with a few other tweaks, so I’ll ensure I look into this for you.

Cheers!

michelenicolette

thanks! even just a background color change would be great

Hi TommusRhodus, I really like your theme, but I have a question . Can we set the first frontpage slider to be a fullscreen slider? and the blog part can be a separate page?

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

1. The slider can be set to any size you’d like :)

2. Yes you can use separate pages in the theme, the blog can definitely be a seperate page.

Cheers!

madaxia

Cool, Is the Parallax effect parts can be set with different speed? I mean when I scroll the page, the Parallax background is not moving by same speed. I checked demo and I didn’t find Parallax effect like http://visia.themes.pixelentity.com/ . I want its fullscreen first page slider and the Parallax effect in second red part . beside them, I perfer your theme. Can your theme do that?

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

Thanks :) Our parallax effect is much more simple than the above as we’ve gone for a more lightweight effect. The theme demo for Kyte shows of its capabilities in terms of animations and effects, you can shuffle a parallax section to underneath the slider if you want without issue :)

Cheers

Hi TommusRhodus, Love your theme and think it might be just what I’m looking for! One question, does your theme support a fixed footer? If so, how could this be implemented to not effect the scroll/parallax effect? Cheers

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

We don’t support a fixed footer I’m afraid for exactly the reason you mention, it would have negative effects on viewing space and on the parallax effect.

Cheers

Hi Tom, thanks for your response. Another quick question. I’ve had to reduce the amount of padding on the header by 10px to fit the required design. Unfortunately, the parallax is now off by 10px which was expected. Could you tell me how to adjust the parallax code to stop at 80px rather than 90px? Thanks for the help. ;)

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

If you’re talking about the page sliding, you can modify it’s behaviour in /style/js/scripts.js on line 70;

$('.scroll,.nav-collapse .nav').localScroll({
        offset: {top:-90, left:0}
    });

Hi! I purchased this theme and I recommend it! Good job, congratulations! Only one question about kyte page builder: when you use 2 pricing plans instead of 3, how could you get both in the center? I realize it should be easy to get it, but page builder options doesn’t let you align 2 elements in the center so I spend some time trying to look for a solution in css and php files… Thanks a lot in advance!

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

Grab the edge of your pricing table and drag to increase the width of them so that you get 2 half width pricing tables :)

Otherwise, you could try using some empty text blocks, made smaller by dragging, to help centre your pricing tables.

Cheers!

Perfect!!! Yes, I was looking for a box size like span4 class, so the first option doesn’t work, but the empty text block fits perfectly, even in other devices!! I was thinking to put boxes into a div in php files, but I realized that it should be easier…

Thanks a lot !!! Good theme and excellent support!!

I’m a total newbie to wordpress and themes, but yours stands out because it looks so good. I’m very tempted to buy it.

Can I have as many portfolios as I want or do I have to choose one of the three? Showcase, lightbox or gallery?

If I have have to choose one, can I have more of those? For example, can I have three light box galleries that work independently?

Thanks!

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

You can have as many galleries as you’d like, the showcase and lightbox portfolios can be set to only show certain categories, so using that you can mix and match, or have multiple of the same :)

I hope that helps!

Great! Thanks for the reply, can’t wait to play around with it.

Would you suggest that I wait for Friday’s update? I don’t know if it means a lot of extra work to update after I customize the theme.

tommusrhodus

I’m actually working on the update now, but it’s mainly just a map block for the page builder, and a few other little tweaks that will update simply by updating the theme. If you’re not planning on modifying the theme code, just get going whenever you’re ready :)

Hello, beautiful theme.

I have a problem and do not know to solve. In my site when I click the menu, it slides to the specific content. But the header bar is getting over the section-head.

See: http://www.ticianabranco.com.br/site/

I would like to stay with perfect alignment as the subject of their example. Can you help me?

tommusrhodus

I’m replying to your support ticket now.

Hello,

Just purchased the theme and getting used to it. Can you please tell me how you achieved the font, font styling and the use of a button within the slider at the top of the home page.

Unfortunately, the slider doesn’t import with your example XML data for the site.

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

The slider is included in the ‘demo xml data’ folder and is called home.txt.html – this can be imported directly in revolution slider settings.

Cheers!

Hey, many thanks for the info. I have it all working now.

Hello,

I am considering to buy your theme.

I want to place Google Map in contact section so I have 2 questions regarding Google Map.

1.Would the google map be responsive in your theme?

2. What is the best way to put Google Map in your theme?

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

The best way to do this would be for me to add a map block to the page builder. So I’ll add this to my development list for an update this week.

Cheers

Thanks for your fast reply!

Hi,

Thanks for your response on another subject.

Can you please tell me how/if the Custom CSS added via Wordpress customiser is making it into the theme. I can’t seem to make it work, see it produced in the source.

Also, can you please tell me how you achieve the rounded image (via CSS) on the home page using the page builder? I can’t seem to add classes that way.

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

1. Hmm, I’ll look into this, got a theme update coming on friday anyway, use the custom.css file accessible in “appearance” => “editor” for now :)

2. That image is just a rounded .png from photoshop, but the following should do the trick;

<img src="" class="round" alt="" />

Cheers!

Default-user

Cool, thanks for the quick reply. Regarding point 2, I guess I should have just used a text block rather than an image block, then I can enter it as you mention.

I’ll wait for the update to use the Custom CSS element. thanks.

tommusrhodus

Either way you fancy for the image is perfectly fine :) Glad I could help.

cheers

i cant seem to figure out how to set up the demo homepage. i see the file but the instructions =dont give a location to enter the code layout.

nvm got it

Hi! Congrats for this theme. I’ve a question: how can I write code like this “code display”? http://switcher.madeinebor.com/?theme=Kyte

Thanks!

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

Use a text block in the page builder, and tick the ‘display as preformatted code’ checkbox.

Cheers

Default-user

Thank you for the quick response!

I’ve two more questions: Is there a way for showing a custom number of posts (10 by default) in the homepage? And, I don’t know why, but my footer’s nav buttons dissapear when I click on them.

Thank you in advance!

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

1. You can adjust your posts per page settings in “Settings” => “reading”, if you’re talking about portfolio posts, not currently, but this is in the development list :)

2. Footer nav buttons? Have you added some custom code to the theme? The footer should only contain a copyright message and social icons by default.

If you need further help, please use our ticket system; http://tommusrhodus.ticksy.com

Is there any other font choices available? I’d like to change mine to fit the theme of my site better.
