Hi,

How can I use the POP3 or PHPMAILER function of the contact form as the SMTP details with me are not working? Kindly suggest.

Donald

UXbarn

Hi Donald,

POP3 would not be working in this case. You would have to use SMTP for sending email from the contact form. Please open ”/php/contact.php” file and enter your SMTP info to each variable as the comments in the file suggested. Also the template is already using PHPMailer for this task.

Kindly note that if you are using SMTP from any free service like Gmail, it will be a bit more difficult to setup. I would recommend to use the SMTP that you got from your hosting provider.

I copied and pasted the whole “content” section from the example gallery page into another page and added the following JS files at the end as well as the other standard ones:

lamoon-gallery.js jquery.nailthumb.1.1.min.js jquery.isotope.min.js

It filters the categories correctly, but doesn’t do the isotope animation. I don’t understand why not because everything else appears the same as the example. Firebug doesn’t report any problems.

UXbarn

Thanks for the info :)

For the animation issue, please add a reference to the CSS file of isotope plugin at the head section:

<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/isotope.css" />

For the text wrapping issue, I do not see the problem on your site. The long texts are wrapped into the new line properly. Did you already fix that?

Default-user

Oh wow, I assumed I was loading that CSS file, but I just noticed I was including my header php file before I told it which CSS files to load. My mistake.

And yes, I already fixed the other error with the text wrapping. There were some things in the CSS where the line-height was set to 0, so I commented this out for the following entries in lamoon-main.css:

.hover { ... }
.hover .readmore, .hover .photo { ... }
#gallery div { ... }
#gallery.three-columns .photo-item { ... }

I’m not sure if they are all necessary, but I don’t see any adverse effects from this anywhere else.

Thanks for your help.

UXbarn

You’re welcome! Glad to hear that everything is fine. :)

Hi,

I have a problem with the contact form. I set up my SMTP details correctly but I am getting an error stating that the MAIL FROM field should contain an email address hosted in the same server that my site does. If I complete this field with an address from my server the email is sent successfully. However, the visitors will not be able to contact me via their emails.

Any help with that?

UXbarn

Hi,

It seems like the issue is related to the SMTP configuration of the web hosting. In this case, I would suggest to contact your hosting stating the issue. I think they should know exactly what is the cause.

Hello,

I have noticed that this template does not work on Internet Explorer 10. There will be a fix soon or there’s something I can do to solve this problem? I hope that someone will reply soon; it’s important for my business.

Many thanks!

UXbarn

Hi,

Actually it should be working on IE10. I just tested the site on IE10 and everything is fine.

Anyway, please post with the account that you made a purchase as I could not see your buyer badge.

Found a small error in the CSS:

form label.required:before {
    content: '* ';
     font-size: 16px;
    font-weight: bold;
}

Should probably be changed to:

form label.required:before {
    content: '* ';
     font-size: 16px;
}
form label.required {
    font-weight: bold;
     font-size: 16px;
}

Or else the only thing that is bolded is the asterisk.

UXbarn

Nice, thanks for sharing! ;)

I found another small bug:

The following CSS is unnecessary and actually messes things up in the case of having a superfish menu less than 100% width. Note, the bg image is defined elsewhere, so it isn’t going to mess anything up.

@media only screen and (max-width: 959px) {
    #menu {
        background: #000 url('../images/menu-bg.jpg') repeat-x;
    }
}

What font does the logo use?

UXbarn

Hi there, it’s Edwardian Script. :)

guide_robert

Thank you good sir! 5 stars :)

UXbarn

Thank you! ;)

I found another small bug. I was trying to edit the select menu that shows up for smaller resolutions, and I notice that in the JS, you have,

$('#menu select').append($('<option></option>').attr('value', $('a#purchase').value).text('Purchase this template'));

However, I believe this should only be for the demo version before people have purchased the theme, not on the live versions.

I also slightly edited this function, because on mobile browsers, I don’t want people clicking on a link that brings up a sub menu, and I also want these items to be indented accordingly in the select depending on the level the element appears in the list. For the items, I don’t want people clicking on, I just set the href to ”#” and class “noclick”. Here’s my JS:

// Populate dropdowns with the first menu items
    $('#menu li a').each(function() {
        var el = $(this);
        var level = el.parents('ul').length - 1;
        if (el.text().length > 0) {
            var text = '';
            var i;

            for (i = 0; i < level; i++) {
                text += '\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0';
            }
            text += el.text();

            if (el.hasClass('noclick')) {
                $('<optgroup />', {
                    'label' : text
                }).appendTo('#menu select');
            }
            else {
                $('<option />', {
                    'value' : el.attr('href'),
                    'text' : text
                }).appendTo('#menu select');
            }
        }
    });

Feel free to use this in your next release.

UXbarn

Hi, yes you are right. I forgot to remove that link out of the production, sorry about that. I’m going to update it in the next batch. Thanks for reporting the issue and your sharing! ;)

Hi! I stumbled onto this theme because of another responsive theme you’ve done in Zurb’s Foundation. Is this one that has been built with the same framework such that adding rows and tags would follow those standards?
  • A second pre-purchase question relating to customization: could a reasonable person figure out how to edit the slideshow on front so as to use graphics not quite so tall? Thanks so much!
UXbarn

Hello, thanks for your interest. :)

This template uses Skeleton framework, not Foundation unfortunately. For home slider, the slider height would be depending on the image height.

Hello there, I have posted a ticket on your forum site. Could you please tell me how to fix the issue of IE? Website is really not showing in IE.

Thank you and appreciate your response :) Alex

UXbarn

Hi, already responded to your ticket. :)

Hello! Can you tell me why is the toogle bar not working on the index page.. i’ve already copied the bottom script but it doesnt work at all :( Hope you can help me with this issue. Thank you!

UXbarn

It seems like the problem is caused by invalid path for the JS file. Please remove ”/” at the front of “jquery-ui-accordion.min.js” file reference. ( see this for the location: http://d.pr/i/PnI2 )

Thank you so much.. i cant believe i didn’t notice that! Thank you for your patience and for taking your time to answer all my questions.. looking forward to buy more of your work!!!

How can I make this theme able so I can pinch on it so I can enlarge the text?

UXbarn

Hello,

Please find this code in the web page file:
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1, maximum-scale=1" />
Then change it to:
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1, maximum-scale=5" />

This should help. :)

Hi UXbarn, is there a way for me to make IE9 not to show the text shadows, box shadows and grandients , that I add in the CSS , because the IE9 does´nt show it as nice as the pro browser like FFox or Chrome, thanks for your help , best wishes

UXbarn

Hi,

You might need to use conditional comments to include some specific stylesheet only for IE9. Please see here for more details:

Hi, would you be able to supply a Pinterest icon to add to the social icons in the footer?

UXbarn

Hi,

Unfortunately the icon pack that the template uses does not include the Pinterest icon. You would have to find the icon from another set to be used.

Hi, I find that ‘Lato” font is not working in Firefox, and it’s “not secure” in IE. Fine in Safari. What could be the problem?

Also, the video will not display in IE until I select “show all content”.

UXbarn

Hi,

1. Please find the Google Fonts reference in the HTML header section of your page. It will look like this:
http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Lato|Lato:300|Vollkorn:400italic
Then change “http” into “https”. It should be working on Firefox then.

2. Hmm. What is that “show all content” selection? Could you please elaborate and send me your site URL so I can have a look?

Thanks, that worked – for FF and IE too. I just meant at the foot of the browser window in IE where it says “Only secure content is displayed” and you can click “Show all content”.

And, how can I get the google plus icon to work? I usually just use <g:plusone> </g:plusone> and the icon displays, but not here, so I tried <g:plusone> <img src="images/social/google-plus.png" alt="" /></g:plusone> but no luck either.

UXbarn

Hi,

You can simply use the HTML anchor tag to link to your Google+ profile. For example:
<a href="[your_link_here]"><img src="images/social/google-plus.png" alt="" /></a>

Oh, OK, I just meant I want to display the little g+1 icon where users can click to ?enhance your rating – at least I think that’s what it’s for.

UXbarn

I have found this article that you might be interested about adding the custom Google+ (working with JavaScript): https://developers.google.com/+/web/+1button/

I think this is what you are looking for. :)

Hi UXbarn I need to use this plugin http://projects.nickstakenburg.com/lightview in a page of laamon that uses jquery-1.10.2.min.js, but it has a conflict with the menu that uses jquery-1.7.2.min.js. Do you have hint on what can I do to have no conflict among them, I tried the “no conflict” to add in the code but it didin´t work If you can give me a hint I would really be grateful

UXbarn

Hi,

Did you mean the menu JS had a conflict with jQuery 1.10.2 ? Please try to update the menu JS to the latest version. The template uses “superfish” for the menu engine. You can find it here: http://users.tpg.com.au/j_birch/plugins/superfish/

Also, don’t forget to remove the reference to jQuery 1.7.2 on a page when using 1.10.2.

Hello! Do you know how i can change the color background to an repeated background image? I can see the img src=”images/bg1.jpg” class=”bg” alt=”” code in the HTML, and the style sheet on the lamoon-main.css but i can make it repeat the image.. im sorry to ask such a dumb question but it really frustrating i cant be able to find what part of code im missing.. :(

UXbarn

Hi,

To use the repeating pattern, firstly you would have to remove this image element out:
<img src="images/bg1.jpg" class="bg" alt="" />
Then simply set the background CSS for the “body” tag in “lamoon-main.css” file like following:
body {
     background: #8E8E8E url('[YOUR IMAGE PATH]') repeat;
     ...
}

Hope this helps! :)

Hello, thank you very much for this nice and usefull theme; but i still have problems with contact and reservation forms. I already have read all the comments above .. there is no way to show senders email in the mail i get !!? I can’t use hosting smtp ‘cause my MXs records are pointing to googleapps mail (gmail boxes with this domain).

Is there any way to use PHPmail instead of SMTP to send forms to my mailbox ??

UXbarn

Hi,

Thanks for the purchase. :)

The template by default only uses the PHPMailer script for sending the email. So you would need to manually modify the code in both ”/php/contact.php” and ”/php/reservation.php” files if you would like to change that and use the mail function of PHP.
