HI -

Purchased Lemon Chilli and really like it. We are using it for a music festival, as opposed to a specific restaurant (tho’ we have some food and ticket applications as well).

We need to show Sponsor logos on the site. Wondering how to put images into the Footer. Could also use the capability to put images into the “Text” widget, which currently only allows for text…

I’m a rookie BTW : )

It’s OK – I figured it out.

Wonder if you’ve had a chance to consider the All-In-One-Calendar not loading the weekly view in Safari correctly. It works fine in Safari with every other theme I’ve tested it in…

Ok, try adding the following code into Theme Options > General > Custom CSS:

table {max-width: 100% !important; }

and if that doesn’t work, add

th.ai1ec-weekday {width: 14% !important;}

Yes – it’s working now. The second option (14%) did it. Thanks!

Hi again – I asked a few SEO questions a couple of months ago. Now that my site has been up and running for a month I realise I’m having huge problems getting the site ranked with Google (I’ve built a number of WP sites and have always had very positive results with SEO work). Although when I look at the Page Source a title is displaying, when I search in Google it doesn’t seem to be seeing that. I can only find the site if I actually search the business name, and even then it’s displaying at the bottom of Page 1. The title that I would be expecting to see in a Google search is “Hunter Valley live music, great food and bar – Great Northern Trading Post” but what I’m seeing is “About GNTP” which is of course not much use as a search phrase. If you’ve got any suggestions I would be very grateful for your advice, as I’ve got unhappy clients! Thanks.

Hey there!

Here is some information, by Google, on how Google search titles are created: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/35624?hl=en

I think especially this may be interesting:

Avoid repeated or boilerplate titles. It’s important to have distinct, descriptive titles for each page on your site. Titling every page on a commerce site “Cheap products for sale”, for example, makes it impossible for users to distinguish one page differs another. Long titles that vary by only a single piece of information (“boilerplate” titles) are also bad; for example, a standardized title like ”<band name> – See videos, lyrics, posters, albums, reviews and concerts” contains a lot of uninformative text. One solution is to dynamically update the title to better reflect the actual content of the page: for example, include the words “video”, “lyrics”, etc., only if that particular page contains video or lyrics. Another option is to just use ”<band name>” as a concise title and use the meta description (see below) to describe your site’s content. The HTML suggestions page in Webmaster Tools lists any duplicate titles Google detected on your pages.

Brand your titles, but concisely. The title of your site’s home page is a reasonable place to include some additional information about your site—for instance, “ExampleSocialSite, a place for people to meet and mingle.” But displaying that text in the title of every single page on your site hurts readability and will look particularly repetitive if several pages from your site are returned for the same query. In this case, consider including just your site name at the beginning or end of each page title, separated from the rest of the title with a delimiter such as a hyphen, colon, or pipe, like this: <title>ExampleSocialSite: Sign up for a new account.</title>

—> I see you changed your title to a static one. Try using a dynamic one like

<title><?php bloginfo('name'); ?> - <?php is_front_page() ? bloginfo('description') : wp_title(''); ?></title>

Page titles should be descriptive and concise. Avoid vague descriptors like “Home” for your home page, or “Profile” for a specific person’s profile. Also avoid unnecessarily long or verbose titles, which are likely to get truncated when they show up in the search—>results.

—> I think your title may be too long with 80 characters. Try shortening it.

Cheers!

How did you add the about us widget on your homepage in the demo?

We do not see an about for a LemonChili text widget – only the wordpress text widget that will not allow for adding the icon. In your about us widget on you have a heart icon. What widget did you use to create that content?

red_sun

Hey there!

I am simply using a text widget. You can use the icon shortcode to display an icon in the title field, like this:

[fa-heart] about
You can find this info in the documentation as well: http://www.files.red-sun-design.com/lemonchili/readme/readme.html#mytabs=6

Hi there, Love the look of LemonChili and thinking of buying. Three questions: is it possible to add a reservations plug-in?; is it possible to add a gift vouchers plug-in; and, finally, is it possible to add a ‘shop’? Thanks!

red_sun

Hey there, thanks for your interest in LemonChili!

I’m pretty sure most reservation and voucher plugins will work with the theme. For reservations, I quickly tested this plugin for example: https://wordpress.org/plugins/restaurant-reservations/

A shop plugin that I tested is WP EasyCart and seemed to display/work fine is WP-easycart. http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-easycart/

Thanks for the quick reply and the plug-in tests. Will definitely buy!

Hi Red Sun, I have two quick questions for you! 1) Is it possible to change the color of the Font Awesome icons? and 2) For some reason I can’t get the body text to change font-size. What am I missing? Thanks so much for your help. Love the theme!

red_sun

Hey there, I’m glad to hear you like the theme!

1. body text

Add the following code into Theme Options > General > Custom CSS and change the value to whatever you like:

body, p { font-size: 16px; }

2. icon color

If you mean the icons above widget titles, the code would be:

h3.widgettitle i {
color: #ff0000;
}

Cheers!

Hi there,

I was wondering if it was possible to add more than one item of the ‘today’s special’ widget on the homepage?

Thanks

How do I get the Slider to appear on the home page? I have checked off “Display slider on homepage” and created a slider with the exact picture sizes along with selecting the slider to appear on home page but so far nothing

red_sun

Hey there!

The Slider will only display on the page that is using the “Home” template. Please make sure you are following all the instructions in the documentation under “Setting up the Homepage” (especially step 6 is important!)

Hi,

I really liked your theme but I just can’t buy it because it does not support WooCommerce. I believe a lot people are with me on this.

Is there any plans to integrate WooCommerce to the theme?

My very best regards,

red_sun

Hey there, thanks for your interest in LemonChili!

I’m sorry but I currently don’t have any plans on integrating WooCommerce support.

Cheers!

hi, how do i upgrade this theme? just replace the folder?

red_sun

Hey there!

In the WordPress dashboard simply deactivate (by activating any other theme) and delete the old theme version from your WordPress installation and upload the new one.

If you are uncomfortable deleting the old theme, there is a plugin that I’ve tried, where you can install the updated theme without having to delete the old theme. In case something goes wrong, you can simply change back to the old theme: http://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-theme-and-plugin-upgrades/

Cheers!

Hello, I really like this theme and am considering to purchase this theme for the management and promotions of particular events. My questions is, would it be possible to promote the events, as they are added, on the slider on the home page? So when a event is added it would automatically show on the first slider on the home page and when that slider is clicked, it would take the visitor to the event detail page for that particular event. I would appreciate it if you could let me know about this.

Thanks!

red_sun

Hey there… Thanks for your interest in LemonChili

I’m sorry but the slides can’t be created automatically from event posts. You would have to create them manually. You can link each slide to whatever URL you wish though.

How do I change the width of the submenu that opens up when I hover over the menu items? I have a scrollable menu, http://www.berkeleybistro.com is the URL. I just want to increase the submenu width, not the menu width.

red_sun

Hey there!

Add the following code into Theme Options > General > Custom CSS and change the value to whatever you wish (.sf-menu li li needs to have 20 pixels more than .sf-menu li li a):

.sf-menu li li {
        width: 162px;
        }

.sf-menu li li a {
        width: 142px;
        }

Cheers!

Hi, does your theme support Visionbakery’s page composer plugin?

red_sun

Hey there! I haven’t tested the theme with this plugin yet. If you want me to test it, send me a link or the plugin files…

Cheers!

Hi, I really enjoy working with this theme. Developing onto this theme is very smooth. I was wondering if there was a way to collect all the past events onto a different page for user reference and for the events that have not yet occurred for them to remain on the regular events page, is this possible?

Thanks!
