Hi again!
Thanks for your reply, I had already done that – setting in options>reading the number of posts, but it doesn’t affects the portfolio items. This only affects the actual blog section of my theme.
If i set this value to 15, my blog shows 15 posts per page, but in fact the portfolio continues to show only 4 items per page.
[]s
Hi – each of the template used for the portfolio pages (template_portfolio1.php, template_portfolio2.php, template_portfolio3.php, template_portfolio4.php) has a limitation on how many to display. If you want you can tell me how many you want to display (based on the template you chose – 1, 2, 3 or 4 column) and I will have someone from my team make this change for you or I could have her tell you how to change this.
In either case, please contact me via my profile page so we can finish getting this set up for you.
ok. thanks in advance.
Thanks for your Life template – I really like the typography and the shortcodes, as well as the minimal layout. I have negligible coding knowledge, and this theme does most of what I want “out of the box”. However a couple of questions:
1) I’d like to make the title of posts clickable to take you directly to the full post. Is this possible, and if so can provide guidelines/details? I’d like to make sure that the post title stays in the format it is (ie. doesn’t become underlined).
2) When clicking on the Continue Reading button, it takes the reader to the post, but starts them below the post title and image. Is it possible to change this behaviour to the normal behaviour of going to the top of the page?
Thanks in advance for your help, and a great theme!
Sure thing – I can help you. It’s a little more detailed, but I would be happy to provide screen shots on how to achieve both of your requests. Could you please contact me via my profile page so we can exchange this over email as it would be much easier.
Thanks
Jonathan
Hi
I am having a little trouble with the slider on your theme which is very good by the way!
Take a look at my testing area:
http://thesource.mattclover.comThe main images dont seem to relate to the thumbnails and the captions are taking their names from the actual image names.
Any ideas?
Many thanks
Matt
yes it sounds like you edited an existing slide rather than create new – I would delete the ones you have and simply set them up as new – editing a custom post for a slider in wordpress can cause this issue – it’s a wordpress thing I am afraid.
If you require further assistance please contact via the contact form on my profile page
Many Thanks

Just wanted to say what fantastic service Jonathan and Barb offer! I messaged a couple of days ago about some functionality changes I’d love to see on my installation of Life, and they have already done it !
Great support ! Thanks again.
Thanks
Jonathan
Hi Jonathan
Man thanks for your response.
I have deleted the slider items and tried with other images using new items and slider posts but still has the same problems.
Any ideas
Many thanks for the support
Matt
Hi Matt – could you please send me your WordPress login details (via my profile page) so that I can have a look for you please?
Thanks
Jonathan
Hi there,
I just downloaded this template today (September 18th 2011) and when I import the XML file I receive this message multiple times: “Menu item skipped due to missing menu slug”. Is there a way to correct this?
Thank You, Steve
Hi Steve – I have never heard of this issue but did a quick google search for your error message – it appears you have not setup the menu items – please see this page on wordpress – http://wordpress.org/support/topic/menu-item-skipped-due-to-missing-menu-slug
Also this here on ThemeForest
http://themeforest.net/forums/thread/import-wordpress-menu-item-skipped-due-to-missing/42319Hope that helps and please also use the contact form on my profile page for support moving forward for better assistance.
Many thanks

Hey!
I wrote through your profile a few days ago. Have you been able to see the site?
Thanks,

Hi Guys,
My request is the same as IanBreakspear’s comment (from 29 days ago), for the following:
I have also contacted you directly though your profile page.
Thank you very much for your help on this.
Steve
Hi day!
I just responded to your email – please let me know how you would like to proceed.
Thanks
I Love this theme but i have one curious issue/problem. When you click “continue reading” on an item in the portfolio pages, and you are taken to that portfolio item’s content, the ribbon that used to say portfolio now says “blog” hmm, shouldn’t it say portfolio still if you are reading the content of a portfolio item not a blog item?
Thanks
Yes, this is a page background in header-blog.php. You can create another header for portfolio and call in the correct css style so that it can say portfolio – but this generally tends to clash with the right sidebar.
The css styles used for the flag are #page_wrapper_blog and #page_wrapper_portfolio – if you want a plain one with no flag you would just use the #wrapper.
Hope that helps.
Thanks for your purchase and good luck with the site!
Hmm, there is a header-porfolio.php file already. it calls the portfolio bg image. so hmm, i am really confused. it is filling the portfolio item’s content into the regular blog format when u continue reading. Is there a way to differentiate portfolio posts and blog posts?
Yes there is already a header-portfolio.php but you would need to create a single-portfolio.php and call in the ‘portfolio’ in the header instead of the ‘blog’ but as I said, this could throw off your right sidebar since the flag is a little longer. You may have to make some CSS adjustments to get what you need.
Hope this helps
Thank you for all your help! it worked! Love it. Works Perfectly!
Hi!
Great Theme!!!
Question though, How do I put up the side bar menus? on any page?
Would greatly appreciate the help.
—Luis
Hi and thank you for your purchase Luis.
If you mean the list items that appear in the right sidebar, you would create these by adding text widgets from the WP admin area.
That’s what we use for the live preview.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Hi Jonathan!
thanks for the response. Ok, I see the widets area,in the manual I see it says “sidebar1.. etc..” but I dont see that in my admin area.
So..
1.Do I just add a widget named “Sidebar 1”?
2. How will that widget know to appear on the side bar of the inner pages?
Hi Luis,
Just go to your WordPress Admin – navigate to “Widgets” which is under the Appearance section down the left hand side and you will see Footer 1, Footer 2, Footer 3, Page 1, etc etc etc. The number represents the order it will appear (1 being the first widget that will appear and so on). The Footer, Page, Blog and Contact represents where these widgets will appear. For example, any of the Page 1, Page 2 or Page 3 – these widgets will ONLY appear on pages. For Blog 1, Blog 2 and Blog 3 – these widgets will only appear on the blog pages.
thanks!
For some reason my entire Blog text is showing up on the main page under the 4 most recent blogs, with no continue reading button. www.themikey.com is the website. Please help.
Did you place read more tags in your posts? Also it depends on how you setup your admin for the sections where to pull from.
well, hmm, i put a read more tag in my post and it just showed up in the text.
My blog is set up as a product sale without slider and the 4 recent posts are pulled from the blog. the last 3 blogs are in there (fake text), and the entire blog text appears on the main page, not like your example on this site where it is just a truncated version with a continue reading button. I am so confused.
please help. i do not know what to do.
fixed it.. all good now. thanks for your help
Awesome – good to hear – please use the comment form on my profile page for support if you need it moving forward please – thanks again!

Hi,
tried uploading to my wordpress three times, but it keeps saying: The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.
Name Description Life_WP_Package_Files Stylesheet is missing.
But I see it is there.
Can you advise please
Thanks
Hi!
yes you are attempting to upload the entire zip folder you purchased rather than just the theme inside of it – if you search the theme forest wiki or indeed the forums you should be able to view a nice little video about that particular issue you are having – but in a nutshell – unzip the download – start with the instructions inside there
Thanks so much for the purchase!

Jonathan…
Doh!! So sorry. Friday afternoon, long week, shouldn’t really justify my stupidity can only say I have sorted it by reading your guide and did so in about 5 minutes.
thanks a lot
Nathan
hehe hey no problem – we all get a little giddy on Fridays – enjoy!

Is it possible to add an extra link in the Social Settings area. I would like to add an icon and link to http://www.goodreads.com/ next to Twitter Facebook etc. Thanks. Steve
Hi Steve – yes it is possible – can you contact me via my profile page so I can email you the instructions with screen shots to help
Thanks
Jonathan,
Thanks so much for providing such a wonderful theme! I’m not sure if this question has been asked before but my twitter feed doesn’t want to show up on my sidebar. it says “twitter” but doesn’t retrieve any of my recent tweets.
www.suzysammons.com
The other question I had was in regards to having the “continue reading” portion at the end of blog excerpts. I have my wordpress settings set to “summary” but the blog page still shows the entire articles.
Thanks so much for your help
-S
Hi and thanks for the purchase – for the excerpt simply use the read more tag where you want to “split” the article when creating your post etc
As for the twitter – ensure you have the correct info and if it’s not loading it will be one of 2 things – either twitter is over capacity (API calls overload the system) or you haven’t posted to your twitter account in a while and therefore it cannot retrieve anything.
Try those things and if you continue to have issues please use the contact form on my profile page for support as per documentation.
Many thanks!

Jonathan! Thanks. The “read more” works, but i still think the blog title should be hot (clickable) shouldn’t it? The images that I’ve inserted into my posts (previous theme) don’t show up. So if i have go back through an re-make each post to “continue reading” just to be able to display the images… that seems wrong?
Also, neither twitter solution is relevant (we’ve tried, and it’s an active feed)... mysterious. Any other ideas?
Thanks so much
Hi support is provided via the contact form on my profile please rather than the comment area of the theme.
To answer your question the title is not clickable – please see the demo. As for your images it must be that in your last theme you didn’t use or set a featured image which this theme uses to display your first image simply setting your featured image will rectify this issue.
As for twitter please try deactivating any extra plugins you have installed to see if you have a conflict.
Thank you
Hi Jonathan!
I’d like to now how can I change the slug for custom post types from:
mywebsite.com/portfolio/my-portfolio-item
into
mywebsite.com/trailers/my-portfolio-item
I’ve modified some code in functions.php.. everything looks ok when creating a new portfolio item, BUT then when I click continue reading, wordpress says my page cannot be found..
I really appreciate your help
Thanks in advance,
Juan
Hi Jonathan, it’s me again.. problem solved!
I added this in functions.php – line 137:
‘rewrite’ => array(‘slug’ => ‘trailers’),
thanks
Juan
Hello,
I bought the theme and the email template because I love the look of everything you do!
I’m having a lot of trouble with this theme reading any third-party html.
I’m trying to put in a pretty basic yahoo groups subscription widget and can’t seem to get it to load properly (in a widget, page, or otherwise). I’ve tried it on a few other themes I have and it seems to be fine there.
Not sure about al this… I don’t know enough to know where the problem is. I just know that I’ve tried a few different things over the past few months and it’s not working.
Thank you for your help!
RR
Please use the form on my profile page for support as per the documentation – if you can also send your wp admin login plus a link to the live site I am sure we can help you out – many thanks!
—
Jonathan
I’m sorry I didn’t double check the documentation. I’ll send that info right away. Thanks!
RR
Hi again – I got your details and entered the html in to a page for you to see it works – the problem was probably either you were in the visual view not html and that the html supplied had bunches of inline styles that were not necessary and had a tremendous amount of spacing inside tags etc – i.e. not formatted right.
Anyways you should be all good now I sent you an email with a link and explanation
Many thanks

Can’t figure out how to display the Product Main Image for the Product Sale Without Slider Set Up.
Hi this happens when from the admin section you choose which category you want for the “Product Main Image”. Once you have selected the category and saved the option, you would need to create (if you haven’t already) a post for this category and set an image as the featured image for that post. Recommended size to upload for the featured image is 900×600.
This will pull the featured image on the home page and when they click the link will bring them through to this particular post.
Good luck with the site and thanks for the purchase!
Jonathan
