Mixey – one problem I could never rectify, I’ve turned off COMMENTS in the menu, but they still appear on certain pages. How can I stop the calling of it ??? cheers

wpbakery

To remove comments from pages you should do this. While creating/editing page, scroll down to the “Discussion” section and uncheck “Allow discussion” check box. If you can’t locate “Discussion” section, then make sure it’s selected in the “Screen Options” (top right corner).

To remove comments from multiple pages at once. Go to the “Pages” and select what pages should be altered, then from “Bulk Actions” drop down menu, select “Edit” and in the new promt window, uncheck “Allow comments” and hit update.

hi there, sorry fixed it. Could you please let me know how you toggle the order of the homepage slides

Hi,

Slides are ordered chronologically, so you can alter publishing date to sort them.

Hi there. Just did a brand new install, fresh wordpress 3.2. When installing I received this error:

Warning: Illegal string offset ‘type’ Warning: Illegal string offset ‘type’ in C:\xampp\htdocs\smart\wp-content\themes\smart\wpbakery\admin-init.php on line 508

Any ideas what’s going on ? It seems the theme installed. Everytime I visit the main theme editor it also has this error at the top of the page. Infact it’s repeated it 5 times at the top..

Hi, I have IE 8 but the slider doesn’t show at the angle for me it’s striaght is there anyway we can change this. Thanks!

wpbakery

Hi,

I’m afraid IE is doesn’t support that.

after a good long 2 hours researching this theme, it’s pure awesomeness and then learning about WPBakery visual composer and then brainstorming layouts and possibilities… I checked it for responsiveness.

it’s not.

:(

Hi,

Sorry, Lightning theme isn’t responsive… and at the meantime, we are not planing to make it responsive.

I can not get the top slider of the home page to have the angle like the demo. I just have a space of about 100 px. Im using FF and I can see the angle on the demo, so I do not think it is my browser.

Hi,

Make sure that in the theme options under the “homepage->Resize images in the slider to screen width” switch is set to off.

Mixey,

How do I add the large, main page header into my blog page? Instead of just having a ‘headerless’ blog page with the posts listed.

Thanks

Great theme. Gallery Widget suddenly stopped working (in every single post and portfolio item). All it displays at the moment is blank space. Any ideas?

Thanks

Problem solved. It was related to the directory permissions in the WordPress.

Can anyone help me, I’m trying to recreate the porfolio teaser on the home page but can’t find out how? How do you get the portfolio loaded onto the homepage?

Thanks, A

Great theme! Just purchased. How to I change the link hover color? Blue just won’t go with our scheme.

Thanks!

Thanks!

try placing this in the custom css area in theme options page:

a:hover,.post_teaser .read_more:hover,#footer .footer_menu a:hover,h4.wpb_toggle:hover,h4.wpb_toggle_title_active,#footer .copyright_message a:hover,.small_tour_menu li a:hover{color:#FF0000;}
Default-user

Thanks! That changed the link hover color in the footer but not in the header. Is there a way to change all of them?

wpbakery

Sure, try this:

    .header_menu .hover a,
    .header_menu a:hover {
        color: #FF0000;
    }

Hi Mixey, we’re loving this theme, and are having trouble figuring out how to display all our portfolio posts on one page, rather than having pagination.

We have 9 entries, and we want the portfolio categories to show, and all 9 portfolio post excerpts to show on one page. Then, our customers can drill down into the one they want to know more about.

Please help ASAP, as our website is launching on Tuesday, January 15th and we’re deep in the final stages of development. Many thanks.

wpbakery

There are 2 ways of achieving that. 1) Create static page and place Teaser grid block into the stage, under the block’s settings, set 1 for “teaser count”, for “post types” set “wpb_portfolio” 2) Check Settings>Reading and change “Blog pages show at most” value, it affect how many teasers WP pulls from DB when you are visiting “site.com/portfolio” or any portfolio/blog category.

I’m changing the slider images in the home page editor and they aren’t showing on the live site. I have it set to show 6 images. Not sure what the problem is?

Hi Mixey,

When I look at this theme on my mobile phone, it seems to be showing snippets of code that are not visible on the desktop version of the site. How do I fix this? I just want the mobile version to look better.

With thanks,

wpbakery

Could you share more details please?

When I look at the site on my mobile phone, this is what I see: http://postimage.org/image/kjmgrw09v/

As you can see, it has a bunch of code in it that shouldn’t be there. How do I have it so that this code does not show up?

Thank you for your help.

wpbakery

I believe this is happening because you are using some kind of “mobile plugin”, and it isn’t parsing theme shortcodes. This is related to that “mobile plugin”, not the theme

I have used tabs in my pages and now when I try to change the tab content I can’t even see the text which is in there – so I can’t modify the text anymore. And I cannot modify any content of these pages which have this tab there, the text just doesn’t change and it is quite a problem for me.

Even if I try to add new tabs using Visual Composer (which I by the way LOVE), it doesn’t work at all.
